Loved the full lap around Barcelona. Thank you MCN for providing the best reviews. Every time I want to buy an "old" bike, I can count on your great reviews. Michael Neeves, you are a star!
I love getting my Moto reviews from a pro. Ruben is an amazing rider and I trust his straight to the point opinion. I don't need to here about personal life issues.
Great vid and review thank you. Love to know which of the journalists posted the fastest lap on the Street. BTW you must be pretty sad to vote this vid down
I have a 675 and I`m over the world with this !! This Video showing this 765 is good for the Track and overall, another Smashing machine, But I won't be getting rid of mine in a hurry !! I think the >>> Street Triple
I've ridden the RS myself yesterday. Its the most perfect bike I ever sat on, honestly. But the engine is a little too slick, its too refined, to perfect. Its not boring by any means, but coming from the FZ-09 theres just a little something missing. What really keeps sticking in my thoughts tho is the suspension. Omfg, the suspension is soooo god damn good, really! Please Triumph put a fairing around the RS, call it Daytona and I'll buy it. You can even put just about any price tag on it, doesn't matter. This would make for such a great track bike. The naked-bike ist just missing a litke excitement factor that a daytona would offer to me.
So torn! just passed my DAS and was going to get a 675 triple r but I'm gonna be so guttered i didn't wait for this to come out if i get the old one and see a new one on the road in a few months
I particularly liked the on-board video part. If you could take the data from the ECU and display status like throttle angle, brake pressure etc, so we could see how the rider controlls it, it would be awesome :)
1200 or 1299 cc would be good. I have a 2016 speed triple S with quick shifter and exhaust. I love it but honestly its under powered. It is only as quick as my 2008 Ducati Monster S4R. I had the 2011 Tuono it could scare you a bit. On the Speed Triple i honestly feel like i can watch the taco rev round to 10 and not feel any urgency for the coming gear shift. It just happens slowly when i compare it to some of my other bikes of the past few years. Not saying the engine isn't good. I love the bike....just want more of it.
Unfortunately they just updated the 1050cc bikes so I think it will be a while before you see anything like that. I have a 2016 Tiger Sport and I wish all of the bikes got the new style dash. More power would be nice too even though I don't really need it. I suppose you can't have everything because my Triumph was a lot cheaper than competitors like the Multistrada and S1000XR.
Thanks, great video - I REALLY want one of those now! Can you explain how you were using your hand on the throttle? It looked like you were rolling it between thumb and fingers rather than gripping it and twisting your wrist. Is there a benefit to doing it that way that I've never thought of?
The Incredible Sulk I've previously owned a Speed Triple, currently own an MT10 and have recently test ridden this RS. In my opinion the new Street RS is a better more exciting and better handling bike than the Speed. It probably suits the slight smaller person. While I would admit the Street looks gorgeous and handles brilliantly it is a way away from the brutal performance of the MT10 which I still prefer mainly because it fits me better as a larger guy.
+Banditmanuk thanks for the information especially coming from a person who actually rode all bikes. Love the sound of the MT10 but don't think it will age well on the looks side
Thanks for the vid. Lots of interesting options this year. Brutale 800, Shiver 900, GSX-S750, Street Triple 765, Z900 and lots more. Just depends what you want and pick that one.
Thanks very much. Is the quickshifter only for up shifts or down too? Sadly that the look of the speed is so much better still... But the weight is awesome!
Its cuts through them corners well. I hear you certainly use them gears to slow it down. Definitely a wow bike . Triumph doesn't need to dish Ducati as someone noted. The quality and reliability of Triumph alone says does that without a word spoken. Haaa.
150 in 6th? I remember saving a shot of 153mph on my old 675 Daytona's dash after I got home from work... must be drastically shorter gearing in the naked.
A spinning wheel is stable all by itself. Steering mostly takes care of itself, and a result of rake/trail of the front forks. The wobble people experience is from their own yanking on the bars clutching and throttling.
That's not exactly true. A bicycle or motorcycle is a dynamic system with resonant modes, affected by all sorts of things like chassis stiffness, damping, geometry, tire profile, speed, wind, etc. If a bike is at or near a resonant mode, any slight pertubation (as small as riding over a paint stripe or crack in the pavement, or hitting a bit of turbulent air) can be amplified into a wobble which takes active effort by the rider to suppress. If you've only ridden relatively modern bikes in good repair, then chances are you've never experienced this.
Liam Ryan no doubt but I like the comfort factor of the Street for road riding, however, the Daytona has the bling Ohlins and I like the idea of a cable actuated throttle, you can also pick them up second had at a decent price. First world problems.
Akumu It would randomly cut out, only a handful of times over 6k miles, but it also would not start on one occasion and the dealer could not diagnose the issue, even after 8 hours of dissembling and reassembling. It worked when they put it back together but they had no clue what it was.
Thinking of picking up one of these for 14k aussie instead of 20k for the 2021 brand new model. Anyone have any thoughts? The 2017 model only has 15K km on it and is in great condition
Man, with handling and engine like that, you gotta wonder why anyone short of a racer would ever put up with sport bike ergonomics again. I just wish I was sexy enough to be seen with it...
Triumph is on fire at the moment. What an amazing range of bikes they have.
Amazing bikes but too much focus on retros I think.
Moto Mario I know what you mean. I do like some of the retro stuff, but hoping they have a new daytona planned
Agreed. A new 1000cc Daytona would be nice
Loved the full lap around Barcelona. Thank you MCN for providing the best reviews. Every time I want to buy an "old" bike, I can count on your great reviews. Michael Neeves, you are a star!
I liked the way you put your left hand on the tank whilst belting it down the straight. Just shows how stable the bike is, good job fella.
That onboard footage was pretty awesome
Ordered mine at the olympic park launch, can't wait.
amazing at 3:11 to 3:20 u hold the bike with 1 handle down the long stright. good engineering..
I saw this video, booked a test ride and then bought one. Its an incredible all round bike. Does the lot and doesnt lack anywhere imo. Test ride one.
I love getting my Moto reviews from a pro. Ruben is an amazing rider and I trust his straight to the point opinion. I don't need to here about personal life issues.
Man..... that track footage was lovely... :-)
This is probably my favourite video of the RS so far. The track bit at the end just made me smile. Can't wait to get to that point :D
nothing better than getting downshifts rev matched like this. best feeling on earth. next to a triple engined bike :)
Throttle grip, has me thinking about how poor mine is…. Thanks for the great review! I learn something every time I watch an MCN video.
Awesome as always michael
Well ridden Neevesy!
Mines ready to pick up! I can't wait.
Great vid and review thank you. Love to know which of the journalists posted the fastest lap on the Street. BTW you must be pretty sad to vote this vid down
Good video Neevesy !
This is seriously tempting... may have to book a test ride!
im a great fan of triumph. Beautiful bike!
Man!! Your braking skills are definitely goals!!👌
Nice work sir! Can't wait until us mere mortals can have a go :0)
I have a 675 and I`m over the world with this !! This Video showing this 765 is good for the Track and overall, another Smashing machine, But I won't be getting rid of mine in a hurry !! I think the >>> Street Triple
Now a long wait for a daytona 765...
.....which would make absolutely no sense
haha fail, you idiot i'm a guy
I don't think it's going to happen, but I have heard the D675 is going away.
Lifted_Above there hasn't been a new Daytona 675 in years.let's hope there will be a 765
Riding Japan
if there's a new Daytona, i think it's gonna be a 675 again, to suit wss reglementations....
765 vs the 790 ktm, waiting for that vid guys. Nicely done with this one.

best part of the review, track footage!!!
So torn! just passed my DAS and was going to get a 675 triple r but I'm gonna be so guttered i didn't wait for this to come out if i get the old one and see a new one on the road in a few months
get the new one mate it's going to be a jizzza
I particularly liked the on-board video part. If you could take the data from the ECU and display status like throttle angle, brake pressure etc, so we could see how the rider controlls it, it would be awesome :)
Yeah how is that done? I've seen video's where they are showing lean angle, G-force, speed, etc....it's sick.
the ECU reports most data, on modern bikes. Apart from that, there are even smartphone apps that take measurements.
Triumph needs to up the CCs on the Speed Triple - 1200 perhaps?
Liam Ryan They have to keep up with the Monster and the Super Duke. Literally and figuratively. LOL.
1200 or 1299 cc would be good. I have a 2016 speed triple S with quick shifter and exhaust. I love it but honestly its under powered. It is only as quick as my 2008 Ducati Monster S4R. Wraithaur You're right. The bike is killer. On the freeway I'm in 6th gear and I feel like I need to shift up again to go a little faster.
Unfortunately they just updated the 1050cc bikes so I think it will be a while before you see anything like that. I have a 2016 Tiger Sport and I wish all of the bikes got the new style dash. Vote for 1050 cc and less weight with keeping up sinle sided swing arm!
ohh god wow...
love the review n thank u for the final sound clip..
😘😘😘❤❤❤😍😍😍
Hi mcn good riding. you need to come to nz south island be grate to meet you I aways but bikes on you recommendations
Very nice video. We were just at the same test and I can't agree with you more.
Thanks, great video - I REALLY want one of those now! Can you explain how you were using your hand on the throttle? It looked like you were rolling it between thumb and fingers rather than gripping it and twisting your wrist. Is there a benefit to doing it that way that I've never thought of?
Steve Smith you just don't want to hang on to a naked too tight or it will wobble!
Liked the video..... Looks and sounds great.
Great video especially the on board lap. Would you have this over the MT10 or Speed triple as both are at the £10k mark
The Incredible Sulk I'd probably go MT-10. It's one very special bike...ugly as sin, though.
The Incredible Sulk I've previously owned a Speed Triple, currently own an MT10 and have recently test ridden this RS. In my opinion the new Street RS is a better more exciting and better handling bike than the Speed. It probably suits the slight smaller person.

Xerdoz
KTM 790 you can add to that list too :-)
What a treat!
Doesnt whistle any more?
Thanks very much. Is the quickshifter only for up shifts or down too? Sadly that the look of the speed is so much better still... But the weight is awesome!
Just one thing, they still did not fix the placement / routing of clutch cable, its still in front of the dash
Awesome lap and bike!
Great bike great track riding!!!!!
ESPETACULAR!!!!!SOUND AND DRIVE
sounds superb!
sick riding skills!
God damn ! Can't wait to see it at the Swiss Moto show in Zurich
do a review of speed triple too
G'dammit, probably going to have to order one soon. Almost plumped for the Speedy, but the Street gets me more tingly in my happy place :)
this is a really good tester
nice riding neevesy, nice looks good I think for 10k id go mt10 tho just for the bonkers wheelies
Brilliant review neevsey.👍 Is there going to be a detuned Brazil/Japan spec version as well?
Its cuts through them corners well. I hear you certainly use them gears to slow it down. Definitely a wow bike . Triumph doesn't need to dish Ducati as someone noted. The quality and reliability of Triumph alone says does that without a word spoken. Haaa.
This engine sounds really nice
Interested in seeing a test against the new mt07 and mt09
My dream bike.
nice professional review but you onboard footage is lacking as well as audio
"There's a street triple for everybody".. I like how that sounds.
It sounds fantastic, who needs an aftermarket exhaust
such a fantastic bike...
Fantastic 👍👍👍🏍
olha que painel lindo
Where does the windblast get intolerable? Like at what speeds? Over 150kmph?
Will there be a first ride on the new 2017 Yamaha Fz09/Mt09?
Is this coming out this March or next year ?
Did you take you left hand off the bar on the straight for better aero?
Sjaak van Dam yep
Triumph have a great opportunity to now go on and do a full on super naked. It would need a completely new engine but they need to do it.
How was the on off fueling...smooth or snatchy...?
Rider seems talented
the old r suspension over bumps felt like being hammered on the back. i'm not exaggerating. how is this? is harsh?
Muito linda essa Street 💟
does it have wheelie cintrol???
would you recommend a new 765 triple ,or keep my mk1 striple and buy an mt10 ,because mcn reckons mk1s are going to be a future classics
rd 350lc if you fancy a lot more power the Yamaha is the best choice.
150 in 6th?
I remember saving a shot of 153mph on my old 675 Daytona's dash after I got home from work... must be drastically shorter gearing in the naked.
Nerding out over that downshifting...
Dude I want!!!!
One handed at 150mph...stable then.
I think the oversized brass balls mounted on top of the seat help with that.

If you've only ridden relatively modern bikes in good repair, then chances are you've never experienced this.
Wow, I've never heard such knowledge about bike dynamics coming from ordinary riders like this, are you perhaps a mechanic ,or possibly an engineer?
Mathematician, actually. Riders come from all sorts of backgrounds.
Is there On/Off?
Sold my Tuono 1100 due to reliability issues. Now thinking this or the Daytona R - will I miss the Aprilia?
Liam Ryan no doubt but I like the comfort factor of the Street for road riding, however, the Daytona has the bling Ohlins and I like the idea of a cable actuated throttle, you can also pick them up second had at a decent price. First world problems.
James Currey it would just be nice if a new middleweight sports bike would be released. Im bored of seeing new naked bikes
Liam Ryan I prefer naked bikes but the middleweight sector is lacking. Just wish this had been a bit more powerful.
What reliability issue(s) did you have?
Akumu It would randomly cut out, only a handful of times over 6k miles, but it also would not start on one occasion and the dealer could not diagnose the issue, even after 8 hours of dissembling and reassembling. It worked when they put it back together but they had no clue what it was.
Thinking of picking up one of these for 14k aussie instead of 20k for the 2021 brand new model. Anyone have any thoughts? The 2017 model only has 15K km on it and is in great condition
Can anyone review R & S too ?
Nice riding, not holding back.
why dont they make 7speeds gearbox
when are they doing this as a daytona???
I pray they make a road.
no blipper?
Could you use you MCN super powers and ask Triumph, when is it going to be released in Mexico? n_n
Marcos Ramirez not sure mate. Best to ask your local dealer.
I already tried and they even ignored that there was a brand new model coming u_u!
Looks like hanging on dear life holding the tank going for the straights o.O
Man, with handling and engine like that, you gotta wonder why anyone short of a racer would ever put up with sport bike ergonomics again.
I just wish I was sexy enough to be seen with it...
Now they just have to put on Daytona fairings on the RS :)
How about wheelies? still brilliant?
Aurimas Bielskis only with the electronics switched off.
They have stopped the production of Daytona 675. Come on! Waiting for them to release the all-new Daytona 765
Should we forget about the speedtriple now?And get one of these instead!
is it me or does he put one hand on tank and the other stays on throttle smashing it down the straight
Andrew Smith yes. It's easier to hold on to the tank, so you don't act like a giant sail at 150mph.
Andrew Smith for aerodynamics. ....just needs cruise control and you can take your other hand off too lol
please MCN We can't wait to see 2017 superbike shootout, please make that happen...big fan from India.
ollllaaa laaa
Think I'll keep my Speedy 😊
On paper this is a brilliant bike, but how reliable can it be when it's being built in Thailand...?
João Soares my 2013 ST 675r thai built is still performing brilliantly with just routine services, zero issue
Has anyone riding street triple had a tank slapper!! Boi i am scard to death even before owning one!! 😥
Why buy the RS for every day riding? This bike is just for a very few.
If only they could tell us the price in AUD!!!!!
will easily hit the 16-17k mark
MRC that's what the old one was. I'm guessing they'll increase it
yeah, you're right. just the conversion from gbp to aud is already over 16k, add on-roads and all the margins i reckon they start at 18k :/
Yep 20k in nz if not more but the mt-10 IS 20k here
