- From the late 1700's to the present, Fort Payne has an interesting and full history. From the Sequoyah, to the Trail of Tears, then an industrial boom when coal and iron ore were discovered, an economic down fall, to a successful hosiery industry in the early 1900's, Fort Payne has stood the test of time. Today steel plants, home fabrication factories and several other industries contribute to the economic success of the town. Not to be overlooked, tourism has become a lucrative industry in Fort Payne. With many natural scenic areas being a great attraction, such as Desoto Falls and the many historical sites of Fort Payne's past, you're sure to find something of interest when you visit. Oh, did I mention some famous country music legends are from Fort Payne?

Thank you so much! Same for you!!
I love historical places and books you learn so much
Thanks so much. Hope you made it back to watch the premiere.
Love these small town walks.
Me too. I love the old buildings. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Love your touring, you get footage from the old towns that everyone else just drives by. That for us is proper touring 😄👍🏻🚐 Trev & Sue
Love checking out these old towns. They're fun to explore. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Thank you for recording this beautiful video. It hurts my heart to watch it but what bittersweet memories I have of Fort Payne. Lost my precious daddy, Russ, and our beloved Billy, (our dog) while living in this town 2017-2019. What good times those were. You were very close to my daddy's house when you were recording by the park and the old train station. Glad you enjoyed! And yes, The Strand has delicious down home food. : )
Aww I'm very sorry to hear you lost your dad and your sweet pup. We really did enjoy the town and the people we met were very nice. Thanks so much for watching our video.
CONGRATULATIONS on being monetized. Your hard work has paid off. Excited to see what is next. ❤️🙏🎉

Alabama is a pretty cool state. There's so much more there to see. We'll be back at some point. Thanks so much for watching.
That mural was nice. Nice memorial and park. I guess we had a lot of musicians from Alabama. Cool birdbath. Good video. Thanks for sharing and congrats again for getting monetized, you more than deserve it my friend.
Thank you so very much, Dee. We appreciate everything you do to help us.
They were the best onion rings ever! They were like a donut onion ring! We love seeing the old neon signs on those theaters too. Wish we could have spent more time together. It flew by super fast!
It really did go by so fast! Hopefully we'll be able to do it again sometime. Thanks so much for watching. Wish I had some of those onion rings right now lol
Cool town. Wow, they won a lot of awards. Loved the depot building and the erector set bridge.
Is a neat town. And yes they did get a ton of awards. Thanks so much for watching 😊
I used to love camping the traditional way as a kid. But, in a trailer? Still have to experience this.
We love our camper build. Tent camping is just not for us anymore. We don't mind not having a bunch of ammenties, but we like having beds to sleep on. Thanks so much for watching 😊
We love this historic small towns like this. We also agree about the depot. We love old stone buildings like that, especially when there is interesting history behind it. We look forward to getting out and doing road trips again. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. We look forward to watching more of them!

The last movie I remember seeing in the old theater I think was Prince Purple Rain. Me and Tammy are Missions Pastors at the church that Randy and some of his family attend. Great meeting up with you guys !!
Wow that was a while back! You know I've never seen that movie all the way through LOL. So you've met some of the members of the group???
Thank you for sharing the cool look around the town

Hello and good day Team HPC hope all is well with you all. I didn't realize you two were so short lol . I love that rock wall. I have been over that Bridge a few times. We hope that your tomorrow is better than your today was.
Haha well we're not exactly tall peeps, but we aren't terribly short either. Guess the statues are just extra big. 🤷🏻♀️😁
that's nice content my friend big likes 74
Really appreciate you watching. Thanks.
Sounds fun and looks like a nice little place. Miss American cities a lot sometimes.
This is a pretty neat town. We love exploring old towns. Thanks so much for watching 😊
I e done many road trips in the US be always make it a point to stop and eat in a small town. Food is always good and the people are awesome.
Totally agree! I happen to love food so this was an extra bonus on this trip for me 😂
Love these historic type of towns. Reminds me of the town Brian and I went - Litchfield, IL. The best Onion Rings ever is a strong recommendation. All the leaves have fallen of the trees now by our place. I need a time capsule in my back yard 😀 Thanks for sharing this area.
Haha well to me they were the best onion rings. I'm sure not everyone would agree. But I thought they were amazing!!
Just missed your live. Watching the replay. Congrats on getting monetized! So excited for you.

Wonderful video. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from India. 🎄🎄💐💐👍🇮🇳
Thanks
Good burgers and awesome onion rings! Sounds like a great place to stop. Cool mural. Fort Payne looks like a nice town. Nice tribute to Alabama. Awesome performers. Very interesting to see and read the info about the Dye Ditch Gang. Crazy that 2039 is only 19 years away! Great video, Jessie and Felicity.
It's a neat town. We had fun exploring around. The story of the dye ditch gang was pretty interesting. I learned something. Thanks so much for watching.
I really enjoy your video !! It is very nice!!
Thank you 😊
Great footage and history thanks
Thank you for watching. It was a cool town to explore.
@@HappyPlaceCamping you're very welcome and it did look like a cool town to tour so that was great that you guys got to experience that
Although I prefer classic rock, I must say Alabama was a great group, congrats on the monetization, remember us small folk
Thank you very much for the congrats! You shouldn't be far from it yourself! We're rock too, but we do love some Alabama. Thanks for watching.
Congratulations y'all. The first thing I saw when I started your video was an ad with the Property Brothers from HGTV. We used to watch them all the time. I love that DeKalb Theater. Something I always look for when I see a small town, where is the old theater.
Yup love old theaters. Old hotels are a fave of mine too. Old gas stations are sometimes awesome. Oh and old houses. Let's face it, I just love old buildings lol. Thanks for the congrats! We couldn't have done it without you and the rest of our subscribers. We'll be doing a celebration soon 😊
I noticed that commercial! Congratulations. Fort Payne, that's not too far from us. I still hadn't been to Desoto though. I finally made it to the lost baggage claim in Scottsboro though, but I think it's one of those things that was probably nicer back in the day. Fort Payne used to have a pretty good flea market too.
Thanks so much. We appreciate you and all our subscribers! We could never do it without all of you! DeSota is a nice park. Ft Payne was a fun visit. I would have been ok to run across Alabama while I was there, but didn't see a single one lol.
really good job stay connected
Thanks
h oh! Debbie LOVES onion rings. I'll have to tell her about this. She'll make this a destination for the onion rings, LOL! Looks like a nice little town. I like these kind of places to visit. Debbie's brother is a HUGE Alabama fan. He's the one who turned me onto them. Great video! Thanks for sharing. :)
Oh then she needs to go. I wasn't kidding. Those onion rings were amazing! Alabama is a great group. I'm not a huge country music fan, but I like quite a few of their songs. So was very cool to see them... Well the statues of them lol. Was hoping to spot one of them, but never did. Maybe another time 🤷🏻♀️
Great video guys
Thank you very much. Appreciate you watching.
Nice trip
It was a great trip. Thank you so much for watching.
Had to sit thru some ads!!!!! woo hoooooooo!!!!!
Yay! Thanks for sitting through them! We appreciate that. And thanks for watching the video.
Agreed the front was redone recently and the fall mountain colors are very nice..
Inssurance in 1889.. wow
The list on the pillars is very a cool historic record
The old depot has a lot of character with the time capsule
the soldiers monument was nice 👍🏼
great overview
Thank you very much for watching. It was a pretty fun town to explore.
Really cool historic town.. that tribute area to Alabama is cool that they have it in a park like setting. I’m always fascinated by train depots in small towns since most are like museums nowadays. Interesting backstory behind the “Dye Ditch gang”. Cool video Felix.👍
Thank you very much. Would have been cool to go in the depot, but they were closed when we were there. And yes the dye ditch is pretty interesting. 😊
Looks like a very nice little town. Hope you got some singing in while eating. lol. That little bridge at the end looked very narrow. lol Thanks for the share y'all.
It is a cool town. Was fun touring it with friends. No singing. But I should have belted out a little Dixieland Delight 😂
Thank you very much for sharing this very interesting video and Congrats on being monetized.
Like 66 + full view. Have an awesome day!!
Thank you so much for the congrats and for watching our video. We appreciate all your support.

Nice tour. I love fort Payne I visited last year and did a video and looks like we seen a lot of the same places. Wish the depot was open when I was there.
It's a nice place to visit. I'll have to come check out your video. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Cool video. I love the group Alabama. Nice city maybe some day I will drive there.
It is a pretty neat town to visit. Alabama is a great group! Thanks for watching 😊

#4SeasonsAdventures
I know! Might have to take a trip back in 2039 to see what's in there. That's a huge capsule. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Man it's been so long since I have had a really good onion ring or just an onion ring for that matter. We love old theater too. Hey remember that clicking noise in your video a wile back what was that? I noticed in my video Im premiering tonight mine was making that same noise I can only imagine its the camera was using to external mic.
Still not sure what it was. Someone told me to put my phone on airplane mode to stop it. But I recently did some recording and had it again. But there is a chance I forgot to put it in airplane mode. Couldn't remember by the time I was editing. Everything else I've done since using airplane mode has been good. So thinking I just forgot on that particular recording.
Love these old towns you find, but are you and Jessie really small or were those statues big LOL
Aaaaaahahahaha the statues are pretty big, but we're not super tall. So maybe a little bit of both 😂
Was that theater name ?Dekalb?
Yes it is. I believe it's in Dekalb County. Thanks for watching 😊
Yes its dekalb theater and based in dekalb county alabama
No Thrift Store? What?
Haha. I did see one there, but we didn't go in. I want to downsize not get more stuff and I might have been tempted lol
