FINALLY someone who just reviews a product and doesn't try to be funny. I don't come here to be entertained, just educated. Thank you for your hard work!!!
Can't overstate how much appreciate the straightforward numerical comparisons and visual demonstrations. Was feeling overwhelmed trying to sort through all the options and your videos helped me feel confident in deciding the V8 is the right model for my needs. If only all reviews were this concise making big purchases would be so much easier! You're the best vacuum review man!
This is amazing. Being a teacher myself, I have to say you have a soothing voice and a super clear logic to explain things explicitly. I love watching your videos! Thank you!
...just bought a V8 Absolute today and I am SHOCKED at the amount of extra dirt it has picked up compared to my old plug in Zanussi! I actually went to the store to pick up the range topping Bosch BCS122GB which was 50 euros more expensive at 399 euros. I liked the idea that it comes with 2 batteries and it looks better than the Dyson. However, the weight immediately put me off. The Dyson rep also threw in an extra set of tools so for 349 euros for the complete Absolute PLUS the extra set of tools I think I got a decent deal. The performance of both models seems comparable but the deal breaker for me was the hard floor roller head that comes with the Dyson. All my downstairs is hard flooring and it works perfectly on the low power setting. I didn't even need to use the High power setting upstairs and on the stairs which is all carpet and comfortably cleaned entire 1150 sq ft house on 1 charge on the Low setting. The weight of the Bosch, and the omission of a specific head for hard floors drove to to the Dyson. I used to laugh at the Dyson commercials when the show you all the dirt it picks up I thought it was fake. I'm a believer now and a very happy Dyson owner!
After watching your review, I bought v8 abs yesterday, battery life is enough for 3 big seats and 8 carpets (totaly 60 meter square) lastly car seats cleaning, thank you for documentation. This is the most price performance gun for dirty carpets.
I have spent far too much time researching these vacuums and watching videos! However, I must say your video's are clear, concise and extremely helpful! Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into these reviews! Much appreciated!
the only thing I would add to your very professional video "well done" the battery life for v8 is around 2 years the battery life for the v10 is the life of unit. With the cost of a battery makes the life cycle cost of the v 10 less.
Super helpful! Helped me decide! From other research I know the V8 is quieter but the V10 likely has longer-lasting battery technology. But, I need quiet most as I have a child who is extremely noise-sensitive. But you show that the added suction of the V10 is not a deciding factor, especially on quiet mode with bare floors (my scenario), so the V8 is the better value for me even if the battery wears out sooner. Thank you so much!
Best review ever! Only difference that you didn't mention is that the V8 has two filters which you have to clean separately, whereas the V10 has both filters conveniently in one piece.
Watched this excellent review and picked up a V8 absolute at Lowe’s for $300. First Dyson for me and it almost is going to obsolete my $1500 Miele. Very well designed. I see a lot of clones talk about not having to hold in the trigger as an “feature” and I noticed you don’t even mention that in your reviews. I will say it is a tad silly because once I start using it my finger doesn’t come off the trigger. But it is so comfortable to hold and use I don’t mind the trigger thing at all. One comment on removing the wand to empty. That is true, no one would attempt to empty with the wand attached. But my wife likes to keep it configured as a handheld so removing the small attachment every time to empty would be annoying. So between that and the awkward release latch I feel they went backwards in usability with the V10.
I just ordered the V8 on Dyson’s website, through their chat feature for 375 bucks after tax. I like the fact that on the V8, if the battery ever dies, you can order a replacement through Dyson, and it’s only three screws that you have to remove to replace it. Ordering on the website also let’s you choose one of three bonus tool kits, and the sales person offered me a free bag to hold the attachments, but I asked if they had the “flexi crevice tool” and he threw it in for free instead of the bag. Can’t wait to try this vacuum out! Thanks for the review!
I find it hard to believe how gullible people are. It is not if but when your rechargeable battery stops working. They all end up in the landfill. Lawnmowers power tools ect. I like to vacuum until I feel that something is clean. With a battery I would rush through the job and have battery anxiety the whole time wondering when the battery will die. This salesman got you to bite by offering you some free tools which you could have lived without. Who only vacuums for 7 min.
Thank you so much for this. Your review helped me immensely. After buying the V8 Absolute, I had buyer's remorse and almost returned it and bought the V10. Your video helped me conclude that I made the right decision. Thanks for being so thorough, clear, and informative. Much appreciated!
This guy provides a detailed comparative analysis of the V8 vs. the V10. I have been well informed and can now make an educated decision about which one I'll buy. Probably the V10. Thank you for your terrific job!
@@Youriqo i was about to buy the v10, but changed my mind to v8. There are bigger batteries replacements and cheaper than for v10, both use the same kind...v10 just with 1 more cell.
Thx for stats about Absolute/Fluffy mode = 98-99% on LOW power mode!!! We've always used MAX and maybe a nice idea to dial it down. Had the V8 Absolute a couple years, great for our smaller home (1250 sf) both carpet and hard floor. For us, the smaller V8 bin is fine -- and commentary about smaller bin easier to empty, and for your car makes sense (saw the V10 and not really a fan of the design... maybe its forward bin blocks your view a little, too?). Tip: as is the nature of things, batteries degrade over time and can be found on Amazon after 2-3 years can be had cheap!
Thank you so much for the detailed review. I bought the V8 Absolute Pro on a black friday sale. I think I wouldn’t really need the higher max power on the V11. Very happy with my purchase on a much lower price with better low power mode.
I’ve had the V8 Absolute for 3 years, great machine, rubbish battery life, using any of the powered brushes on the wand at normal power when new gave around 15-20 minutes. The battery gave less than 5 minutes at the end of 3 years and needed replacing by Dyson at £60.00. Of course the V11 has superseded the V10 and added lots of benefits, at a aprice
It has now been 15 months since this video. The V7 absolute is now $190, the V8 absolute is $250, and the V10 absolute is $400. I am going to buy the V8 today and then in 2-3 years I will buy the V11. That is how you get the best bang for your buck. Don't buy new dyson vacuums and don't buy new cars.....unless you are rich and money is not a worry to you.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into this. deserves way more clicks! I was about to order the V8 and was searching reviews.. Found your comparison and figured hmm maybe I should get the V10! Turns out I was right with the V8 all along. Thank you!
Brilliantly helpful video that shows the differences between models in a very easy-to-understand format. Still pertinent years later. Thanks to whoever it was that decided to present it in this way.
Thank you for your reviews, they are very thorough and easy to listen to. I just watched three of your videos; the likes and dislikes for the V8 and this video and I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to really showcase the differences between these products. Very good job, thank you.
Thank you for your excellent work, very useful. One more difference I learned on another review on V8 vs v10 is battery replacement cost. V8 uses lithium ion which last less than the one on V10.
Thank you for making a review of such high quality. I appreciate the effort that went into the review, and also the clear, precice and concise presentation. This gem of information will guide my choice of vacuum cleaner in the next days. Very well done.
Just to add that the V10 has a larger bin than a V8 so less stops for emptying also, V8 has two filters needing cleaned versus just one with the V10. Think the V10 has a lithium battery so it’s life should last longer than V8 type so worth factoring the cost of a replacement battery a few years down the line for the V8.......Great vid 👍
Your reviews are comprehensive and informative with excellent presentation. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your reviews. I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers. Maybe those who vacuum don't use UA-cam? :-)
Agreed. Not too many subscribers because you get the review, you choose and buy a vacuum and... thats it. until it breaks and you have to go through the process again. Who is really following the trends of vacuum reviews?
Heck yeah they do, that's why there's so many cleaning and organizing channels! It's just that their viewers buy whatever the UA-camr is using instead of doing the research to see if it's actually the right vacuum for them.
@@frederic1513 Tax probably. In UK, and Europe in general, the tax are highter. In return you are taken care of more in Europe. Based on your tests, the V8 is less powerful, costs considerably less, but picks up more dirt on a carpet than a V10. In that case, I'll wait for a V6 model to come out.
I like my V8 but recently I've been getting shocked when I'm vacuuming. At first I thought it was an electric shock from the battery but I figured out it was static from vacuuming. It will probably go away when we are out of the winter months but really gets annoying every few seconds getting shocked.
Conclusion; i'll stick with my V8 Absolute( I pay wayyyyy ..less than show in the video). There's a V8 replacement battery with more power., the battery that comes with Dyson v8 is 2800mAh and a replacement is 3500mAh so you get more working minutes.
Awesome review, so glad I got the v8 absolute because the software roller does work better. There is a bug price asking 330 before tax for v10 animal from amazon during Black Friday. I hesitate, and thank god I did not get the V10, I need the soft roller head.
Finally -I too agree, I stopped researching anymore. Thanks sir for detailed explanation! Great that you spent your time on making this video, really helped alot. Not sure but onething I observed is, comparing with other broadcasters, your video is filled with sincerity and genuity.
There is actually more than 2 models of the Dyson v8, there is Absolute and Animal like most people know, but there is also Slim Fluffy +, Fluffy, Motörhead and Orgin with the red cyclone. The only difference between slim fluffy and fluffy is the filters are slightly transparent and purplish color, and they don’t have direct drive cleaner head. The Motörhead and Origin is the Motörhead comes with 2 tools which the combo and the crevice tool, and the origin only comes with combo and no other tools. Anyway, very good review I have a V11 and probably upgrade to v10 or v8.
Fantastic Review! Very helpful. What's behind door number #1 and door #2? All kidding aside... Thank you! You just saved me a couple of hundred bucks! Cheers!
I've been debating which one to buy for months now, and this review finally helped me make a decision. Thank you so much for putting all the time, energy and effort into your videos! I really appreciate it!
I know this video is a few years old now, but I’m currently trying to decide between the v8 and v10 and I’m so glad I watched your video. Very informative and clear. Thanks!
I'm looking at a vacuum cleaner for hard floors. One thing this review lacked information on was cleaning grout or gaps between tiles. For that "use case" other reviews claim the V10 on max power is better than the V8 and it's unfortunate that is not tested/demonstrated here. Also, with the V8, if you want to vacuum up large debris such as cheerios on hard floors you have to use the soft head (the normal head will just push the cherioos around). With the V10 the non-soft head has an adjustable gap that can pick up cherios so you may need to switch heads less often or even skip the soft head all together. (so if picking up cherios is your goal you could be comparing the V8 absolute to the non-soft-roller version of the V10).
Excellent review. I just purchased the V8Animal on a special deal on QVC. Since the Animal V8 doesn't have the soft hard floor head, I was wondering if I needed to go to a higher model. I discovered I can purchase the bare floor attachment separate, so I've been comparing price and different model specifications. Your video really helped me to see, at least compared to the 10, I still got the better deal, even with purchasing the addition head. Also, the reason I was second guessing my purchase of the V8 is I already have a four year old V6 animal. But the upgrades and special price is why I went with the V8ANIMAL. Although some reviews are bad because of battery running time for all models of the Dyson cordless vacs, I can only clean so long anyway, since I have medical issues. Once again, your video helped very much in my decision process. Maybe the extra power in V8Animal helps the performance of the multipurpose floor attachment. Once I try it I might not even need the additional floor attachment. Thank you.
Thank you so much for producing such a clear and concise review of these two products. Explained all points so well. Helped me make an informed decision. Eagerly awaiting V11 versus V10 review. Help !
I was wondering witch to buy between the v10 and v11. After i talk to a dyson seller, watch a couples of video, i just bough the V8 hard floor set up, summer promotion from dyson website. I can't wait to replace and put my broom into my garage
OMG! Thank you so much for your videos!! You answered all of my questions and helped me make a final decision about my purchase. Much appreciated!!! Excellent work!!!!
Great review! I do have a question...regarding the battery pack(s) for each. I believe that the V10 battery has a much higher lifetime than the V8. Replacing batteries can become expensive over the long haul. This may have an effect on the cost equation. Can you elaborate on that?
Although I can't answer the question directly, I've had the V8 absolute for over 5 years (full disclosure: live in a small condo, I'm not Mr Monk, plus I don't maintain it very well like washing the filters) and the battery life hasn't noticeably declined. I probably use it briefly most days, but have to charge it very seldom.... I'd guess every 3 weeks or so at most.
Random Acts of Video you get the same for the V8! Get to choose one of three accessories kits, They also offered to throw in a bag to organize accesses, but I asked for the “flexi crevice tool” instead and the sales rep added it for free.. plus it’s memorial day sale, so I got the V8 with all that for 374.49.
I turned down Dyson's offer to change out my V8 for the V10 because I was not a fan of the dump mechanic on the newer model. Most times you only need the low setting for carpet and the V10 medium is in all practicality equivalent to the V8's low setting. Plus you will have extra stress on the V10's dump hatch because the pipe attaches to it (remember its all plastic construction).
@@mr.nonamanadus4463 we're talking about vacuuming. Besides you have to try and balance the dirt into the trash. When you drop an empty magazine, it doesnt matter where it lands. When you drop vacuumed dirt, im pretty sure you'd care where it lands

i know elderly people ( 70+ ) who had the V6 models and hate all these new models because it hurts their wrist due to being more heavy. The only one they like is the V12 slim but its a couple of hundred dollars more than they want to spend on a machine. Shame on Dyson for not making a cheap and light V6 upgrade with better run time and a few other upgrades.
That is really informative and useful!! I was struggling between v8 and v10 and I made a very informed decision after watching your video. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation and testing!!
Hi! Ur videos helped a lot in making up my mind as to which model to go for. It was so clear, precise and gave the answers to the questions that i had which the dyson cc themselves dont give. Thank u !
Thank you for the review. The only thing mission imo is hair as a test material. That is the one thing that matters the most to me. My wife and daughter have long hair and when using the cheaper stick vacuum i bought the hair will get entangled in the roller and be a pain to get off. Not to mention that as i vacuum the effect is less and less the more hair i pick up because they cover the bristles. In this hair test it would also have been interesting to see how both the carpet and hard floor roller would do.
Thank you so much for your detailed comparison. This video helps me a lot to decide, which one I should buy. You‘ve spent so much time to do this video and I appreciate that very much. Best regards, Thanh
You do realise that you are not supposed to use Max continuously. So for example to clean one or two rooms. It wears out the battery so damn quickly. Dyson told me to only use Max for stubborn spots. It's amazing how they claim that it has suction the same as a full size machine, but in theory, can only be used for a short time. If the user wants to keep wearing out their batteries then use Max mode lol
Hey VaccumAdvisor, i think itd be an excellent idea for your channel to consider creating a video that in some form lists the top vacuums in respective categories. i.e. under X$, cordless/cord, etc.
I got V8 Absolute, and used it for a month now. I am so happy that I have not returned it to exchange for V10!!! V10 bin design/location is lame, all the dirt is right in front of your eyes, while bin on v8 is under the motor, so you only see the dirt when you need to see how full is the bin. V8 is so much cuter/lighter/better. PERIOD! Forget the low suction mode of the V10, you will never use it, maybe to pick up dust only LOL. So v8 battery life/performance is better in low mode than V10 on Medium, ahahahaaa. tools are same for both. charging time....eeemmmmm… once battery dies on either one, are you gonna sit and wait either 3.5 of 5 hours to finish cleaning? hell no. leave on charge overnight, relax. tomorrow finish what is not done.
Thank you so much for this thorough and informative review. My question is , Does central vacuum have more suction than dyson ? My concern is for house with dog. Thanks again

I like my V8 but recently I've been getting shocked when I'm vacuuming. At first I thought it was an electric shock from the battery but I figured out it was static from vacuuming. It will probably go away when we are out of the winter months but really gets annoying every few seconds getting shocked.
lol this was pretty funny
Wear gloves
Conclusion; i'll stick with my V8 Absolute( I pay wayyyyy ..less than show in the video).
There's a V8 replacement battery with more power., the battery that comes with Dyson v8 is 2800mAh and a replacement is 3500mAh so you get more working minutes.
where do u find the replacement for 3500mAH if you dont mind me asking? :)
@@ChikoPikafull Amazon and eBay.
Cheers!
Thank you for all great reviews. We bought the v8 absolute pro. Very happy with it :)
Well done review.
No need for the price of a vacuum to cost $300 to $700, absolutely unnecessary.
Thank you for a detailed review! I love the nerdy charts :) Also, your voice is super pleasant to listen to and makes taking in information easier.
Straight forward review. None of the fluff. Thank you.
Your review is amazing! Thank you for being so thorough; it's just what I needed.
Which one is the best ?
I've been debating which one to buy for months now, and this review finally helped me make a decision. Thank you so much for putting all the time, energy and effort into your videos! I really appreciate it!
So your buying ?

Thank you for honesty. All what we need is more reviewers like you 👍🏻
I know this video is a few years old now, but I’m currently trying to decide between the v8 and v10 and I’m so glad I watched your video. Very informative and clear. Thanks!
V8 & v10???
😂🤣😂 I was looking for V8 Engines, but I ended buying up the Dyson V8, 🤣😂🤣
Bought the V10 to replace an older Dyson. My god! Power! Run it in medium mode and it picks up everything.
Thank you.
Very good , I think I would pick the V8 absolute for the easier car cleaning & I have hard floors at home . Thank you
Thank you so much for producing such a clear and concise review of these two products. Explained all points so well. Helped me make an informed decision. Eagerly awaiting V11 versus V10 review. Help !
My god i feel like i owe you way more than just a "Like" on a video for this video. Well done sir. I found a deal on a v10 today for $400
Wow! Best review i've ever seen! Thank you :)
Lovely review shows V8 is as good as v10
bruh this is like if Bill Nye focused on vacuum reviews...all jokes aside this guy is great at what he does my go to for vacuum reviews.
Excellent rewiev, you are really good at this. I really like your style, your discipline. Keep going. 👍🏻 Thank you this great video.
At the current time I am watching this, you get a lot more free accessories with the V10 if you buy direct from Dyson (in the USA)
Who dumps the dirt out of the v8 with the wand still attached to it anyways
No different than changing clips on a rifle....
@@mr.nonamanadus4463 we're talking about vacuuming. Besides you have to try and balance the dirt into the trash. When you drop an empty magazine, it doesnt matter where it lands. When you drop vacuumed dirt, im pretty sure you'd care where it lands
Very easy to balance and easy to dump with the attachments.

Amazing quality review boss. Love the way you are so close to the carpeted floor. So convincing I’m heading over to Amazon
One of the best vacuum reviewers ever.
i am so happy that have came here having an oportunity to watch profesional, full detailed review. nice, clear, calm and well pronaunced understandable english (i am not english speaker). great job!!! now after i was really confused which one should i buy after your video i can make my bet:) greatings from Poland.
That's pretty sofisticated and impressive. I wouldn't expect too much engineering in vacuum cleaner review but I do appreciate it. :-) Thank you a lot!
i know elderly people ( 70+ ) who had the V6 models and hate all these new models because it hurts their wrist due to being more heavy. The only one they like is the V12 slim but its a couple of hundred dollars more than they want to spend on a machine. Shame on Dyson for not making a cheap and light V6 upgrade with better run time and a few other upgrades.
Thank you for your detailed videos! I just purchased my first Dyson vacuum and I went with the V8 Animal and I absolutely love it.
How does the animal go with hard floors?!
Jason, It does extremely well on hardwood floor and tile. I'm always amazed at how much dirt and dust it picks up everytime.
Thank you for your sharing, it's a good and comprehensive one which I couldn't find from others, keep up your good works, love this!
That is really informative and useful!! I was struggling between v8 and v10 and I made a very informed decision after watching your video. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation and testing!!
GETTING THE V8 thank you ...newer is not always better
Awesome comparison/review, thank you. Straight to the point, clearly explained. Beats Dyson's inscrutable marketing...
Hi! Ur videos helped a lot in making up my mind as to which model to go for. It was so clear, precise and gave the answers to the questions that i had which the dyson cc themselves dont give. Thank u !
Nice video! Very informative and great presentation. Love the passion! Made our decision a lot easier. Subscribed to support!
You are God of Vacuum Cleaner Machines.
My Mother has the Purple & Green plug in Dyson Barrel - it must be 15yrs old or more…..Still works perfectly….
This is a great review .. I'm considering the V8 total clean which is sold at Costco. It's currently on sale for $459 til Dec. 15th
Thank you so much for your detailed comparison. This video helps me a lot to decide, which one I should buy. You‘ve spent so much time to do this video and I appreciate that very much. Best regards, Thanh
Your reviews are very informative and useful - thank you so much. I now have decided to buy the V8 one.
super analysis in layman's language. the way you have explained, will help us take an informed decision
Great review. Might want to update it with current prices. The V10 absolute can be had for $515 on Amazon.
AWESOME & really greatly detailed review of both vacuums. Thank you!!!!
Excellent review! Accurate and to the point! Thank you!
Hey VaccumAdvisor, i think itd be an excellent idea for your channel to consider creating a video that in some form lists the top vacuums in respective categories. i.e. under X$, cordless/cord, etc.
Great video I’m going watch all your videos so I make the correct purchase for my need around Black Friday sales :)
Thank you. Going for the V8
I like the V8 but are you really saying a vacuums cuteness is a reason to buy one over the other...?
What an amazing, thorough and on point review! Thank you so much. Made the decision easy!
Thank you so much for this thorough and informative review. My question is , Does central vacuum have more suction than dyson ? My concern is for house with dog. Thanks again
You review is highly helpful and thanks for your time and effort to put this together.
