Burial ground of an evil Stone Age sorcerer, cursed by an unkillable shaman who committed genocide against a native tribe, built on top of a temple that imprisoned a bat-demon, and founded as an insane asylum by a serial killer? Yep, Gotham is _definitely_ located in New Jersey…
Dig a little deeper and everywhere has underground cities that are still a mystery of why they’re here. Clearly we humans were more advanced than we have been told and built things that could last instead of our inferior building methods today.
Omission: Wish I could remember which comic it's from (Paul Dini wrote it I think) but Gotham was also said to have had a boom and crash in the 20th century as a "capital of amusements"-- hence the endless amount of empty carnivals, toy factories, amusement parks, mazes, giant props, etc
Criminally underrated video, the production quality of this is insane. Can you please add a complete list of all the sources to the description? It helps me to see them all at once
Amazing content! Bring a whole new light and reality to one of my most beloved fictional places, and i'm very grateful that you took you time to do this. I hope your channel grows significantly you deserve it!
Thank you so much for the Super Thanks! I really appreciate it and it helps support the channel greatly. I hope to release more content soon. Best regards, Schizofenik
There are 3 other places that I like besides Gotham City and they are: Coast City (Home of Hal Jordan and most of the Human Green Lanterns) Atlantis (Home of Aquaman) Oa (Home of the Guardians of the Universe and the precinct of the Green Lantern Corps)
Awesome job and I really enjoy these videos you make as I said before in the past you made a video on how many fighting styles Batman realistically would have done during during the Golden Age. So can you please do the same thing but in this modern Era when you get the chance
This makes me wonder how much of the city's history the average Gotham City citizen is actually aware of. How much of this is public knowledge? I get the feeling that not much of it is. If everyone knew the city was built on top of an evil burial ground full of occult magic, not many people would want to live there. I can only imagine how many crazy discussions this would lead to online in the DC universe. Urban legends and creepypasta being passed around from user to user about bat demons and evil shamans, most people thinking it's just fantasies, when in reality it's all true. Kinda like The Force in the Star Wars universe. Most people don't think it exists, that it's just some old religious mumbo-jumbo. The audience knows more about this stuff than the people living in the actual fictional universe, since we get to see the truth in all these fantastic adventures.
I REALLY LOVE THE SONG GOTHAM CITY FROM R.Kelly IT WAS ACTUALLY WAS DEDICATED TO CHICAGO OF GOTHAM CITY A CITY OF JUSTICE, A CITY OF LOVE A CITY OF PEACE, FOR EVERYONE OF US WE ALL NEED IT CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT GOTHAM CITY OH YEAH.
Hiram is pronounced High-ram. It's a Hebrew and Biblical name meaning "benevolent brother" or "high born." Also, Gotham City is largely believed to be in the state of New Jersey. Nice video, as always.
Hey man! @Schizofenik! Sorry to bother you here. Do you have some sort of way to contact you out of the plataform? I'm a architecture student and would like to talk about your references to the Gothans Architecture Guide.
If this is what I’m learning in History class, I would get a 100 percent on my test

Why doesn't Metropolis have such a rich and fascinating history as Gotham?
@@hamizanyunos1502because I think in canon metropolis was built during the 2008 economic depression

That would be epic to see as his golden age video is amazing
@@CyberCowboy-gv2jg I know right I even lost count on how many times I watched it
Awesome! Moving there next week so this helps!
Gotham city is the best comic-book city ever.
CHANGE MY MIND AND PROVE ME WRONG!
No you pretty much nailed it like the Roman's. Although metropolis and Star City coke in at a close second
I prefer Otisburg. It's a little bitty place.
No way, totes agree with you.
New York: am i a joke to uou 😂
What a fantastic video

'Cardcaptor Sakura' once made; a tribute; to, 'Batman'.
Finally someone has made this video! Awesome as always!!
Chicago is the real life Gotham City. It gives the best gotham vibe. The gritty atmosphere and corruption and the architecture it's just all Chicago
Will you upload a video conveying your thoughts on the Prey trailer that was released recently? 😁
The dark knight's crusadr to reclaim his holy land.

Can you do Neo Gotham next?
Gothamians must love their city to death, literally! 😜
In summary: Gotham City sucks to live in
