- If you want all-out Corvette performance, anyone would tell you to go for the Z06- and it’s the ‘Vette we’d buy if cash was of no concern. But most of us do have other bills to pay. Fortunately, you don’t need Z06 tuning for serious #Corvette credibility, and #Chevrolet was kind enough to send us this 2024 Stingray Coupe 3LT to remind us. #ChevroletCorvette

Waited eleven months for my 23' C8' 1LT. Payed sticker in the low 60's. Fast enough for me..... Couldn't be happier, the car's a beast.
I always enjoyed watching motor week.
Corvette's C8 really does look like a Lambo and McLaren squished together. Is it really becoming a standalone performance brand thus a expanding GM's car brand portfolio to five?
Mason Dixon dragway. My neck of the woods ❤
100 % I want a corvette and brought 2011 GS convertible before I got bald and 50 years old. I brought it when I was 47 and now I'm 50 years old with a bald spot on top of my head lol. Sir you call it right
So you have a bald spot? You know what you need to do. Get the razor and shave it.
Great car, but def out of budget for many, C5's and C6's are good for the money these days, I love my C4, with bolt ons, it can made as fun as any C8
Those are all great generations but the C4 doesn't even come close to comparing to the C8. Even if you supercharged it and made it as fast as a C8 you still wouldn't get the next level handling of it
@@mustang8206 I agree in terms of functionality the C8 will most definitely handle better, but you can get a C4 close for way less money, plus way less stress if something breaks or goes wrong. I'm not dogging on what the C8 does well, I'm just trying to credit what older generations do, especially for the price.
I love the c8 so much does that’s my future car and I want one to be a part of my future car collection it’s already my dream car good job Chevrolet. I love Chevrolet so much. They are so good at what they do they make good Cars. Just have to Chevrolet in General Motors. I love you guys. I represent for you guys I’m a Chevy boy
Try buying anything Italian at that price; even used. Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati all cost you anywhere from 4x to 10x the money and you won't get 4x to 10x the performance. Further, you take take your Corvette to your local Chevrolet dealer for service. Try finding a dealer for an Italian nameplate in your state let alone you city or town. I have owned Corvettes most of my adult life. If you want performance without the headaches, by a Chevy.
…….Hopefully they’ll get around to redesigning that interior soon!
What's wrong with it?
@@yungkidnf Many don’t like the “curved wall of buttons” separating driver and passenger. Chevy has hinted at this being redesigned for ‘25, or ‘26.
@@eddieg6436 Some* don't like the curved wall. Most like it or don't care. It's a driver's car so everything is focused on the driver
I’ve come to like it. It’s very functional and easy to use the controls without taking your eyes off the road. I like that it has actual buttons and you don’t have to go through menus on the infotainment.
wont get one for that price
Guys, Stingrays were selling at over MSRP two years ago, prices have come down on them.
0- 60 in 2.9 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds and this is the base model. Wow! I bet it still gets close to 30 MPGs. The performance per dollar you get with the Stingray is unparalleled and the engineering to make all that happen is not lost on me. Again, wow!
It really doesn't get enough credit for how many different things that it does EXCEEDINGLY well for
@@hellkitty1014 Agreed.
@@hellkitty1014I don’t know who got 30 mpg. Best I’ve gotten in mine is 26 and that’s on a long trip with active fuel management on.
I’ve gotten a high 29.2 mpg. I average around 26.5 mpg in tour mode on short trips with a light right foot. I f you like driving in sport mode and getting on it you’ll be in the teens.
@@Blazzer44 I drive in sport mode and always in manual. I’m pretty calm most of the time and 19-21mpg
The American Ferrari gets better.
Made it past the 500 mile break in period last week in my 3LT z51 Coupe. The torque is phenomenal. The acceleration plants you back in your seat. The handling at cough, cough, the speed limit, is superb. Never mind 0-60 (and there are plenty of videos on YT of C8s doing 2.8 seconds, not 2.9), 40mph to um, ah, the speed limit of course, is, to me, everybit as impressive. GM hit a homerun.
2024 Chevrolet Corvette is America's Ferrari GT.
Damn 11 second quarter mile ill be lucky to get 14sec quarter in my 1990 camaro 305 with twin turbos
Well that's because muscle cars will terrible in the 80s and 90s. They didn't get good again until 2005
@mustang8206 it just shows technology has gotten that great
bro mullet cars like that always win a drag race
You started with a 170ish HP on a good day.... Had a 88 LX 5.0, Paxton SC, GT 40 heads and intake, true duels, and a few other goodies, it would run low to mid 12s, and that was impressive for a street car back in the day.
@justgoofingoff sweet but these new cars do that naturally aspirated no turbo no supercharger
This car is crazy good. Too bad I only see old guys driving them slowly.
The c6 and c7 will forever be my favorite.
What about an electric one? 😂
@@fredfrancium I wouldn’t be against one. Most EV vehicles are ugly.
C7 ZR1 manual transmission hell yeah
Love the all blk!!!!!
11.3 is freakin awesome!
I love my C8 3LT, not many cars for under $100k that perform as well as the Corvette. I would love to experience it with a twin turbo setup. That would be a wicked ride.
Agreed. I don’t really think there’s any car that performs anywhere near to this for the price. It’s a great piece of American engineering.
You could've had a Viper for the same price. I absolutely love mine!!! Rented a V8 for a week and I hated every moment of it. The C7 was a way better and way funner car than the C8.
East Coast Corvettes in New Eqypt NJ
This thing is actually quicker than the Z06 from 0 to 100 because it can actually put the power down
No, it isn’t, but it is very close and is definitely an amazingly fast car
I absolutely hate modern vehicles. But I would definitely drive a C8. I don't care which one. Although I prefer the targa. The convertible hides the engine too much
The lower HP car are more fun to drive. The HP is manageable.
For most of us in the real world, even the base Corvette is a pipe dream financially. If you can’t pay cash then you can’t afford it!
Not only is the base price a huge limitation, but annual taxes, insurance, maintenance, upkeep, etc.
90% of people who drive these are older, retired men who drive them on Sunday at the speed limit.
@@stevemcgowen below the speed limit, often with the top down wearing a ball cap to cover their bald head 🧑🦲
@@Canadian_Gamer………just WAIT until you’re 53!!! 🤷🏼♂️😂🤷🏼♂️😂
rich people use credit
Great looking car, but not in black.
Didn't realize my 2022 Corvette stingray 1lt Z51 came with brembo brakes till I saw this video !!! ;)
I just bought one... a HTC Z51 2LT....it's all I'll ever need
They did so well making the mid engine C8. Absolutely a stunner. I whip my neck around every time I see one.
Maybe stop talking when demonstrating the optional exhaust sound. Just a thought ??
The c8 just doesn't do it for me. It looks like the 458 we have at home. I really want a c5 Z06. I like the body shape.
👍
ty!
Ahhh….. big difference when John isn’t the one making this video…. It just doesn’t bring the same excitement. John has that unique touch and one-of-a-kind voice.
I know but he’s been doing this, like forever. Now, he’s showing his age.
@@unknownunknowns that’s not the issue. John is still doing a great job regardless of how he looks. The rest of the crew have tried to fill that spot over the years and simple doesn’t have John’s touch.
470 what? (pound feet of torque) And you could've been clearer about the performance exhaust and the horsepower with and without it. 490 with standard exhaust, 495 with it. Time for a new voice-over. That power description was rather poorly worded.
I am 6-7..will I fit.
As a former Corvetre owner , I question why this car is so o expensive .
I’m thinking the price point was
Insanely structured to fall into the arena or image to equal or get close to the more expensive 2 seater vehicles, which in my opinion is a poor and ridiculous
manuever in these times, especially with a fiberglass body.
Dream car
If you're financing you are probably better off with the Z06.
CLICKBAIT - wheres the blue one ?
It really doesn't get enough credit for how many different things that it does EXCEEDINGLY well for
The Porsche is a better car. The brand is better than anything GM can offer as well.
@@vir123456 subjective. I say the Corvette is a better car and I’ve driven both and chose one and it wasn’t the Porsche.
@@vir123456 The Porsche is a great car. I just made the observation that Chevy is faster with a $30-50K discount.
@@vir123456 Corvettes are much more reliable than Porsches.
Why do Corvette wheels always look like an after thought?
Chevy.
I know 😂
Because you need glasses?
Great car I’ve always wanted these and I’m proud their staying with a V8 unlike some Ram related company 🙁☹️
I still think the C6 is a better looking, more American, car. Can't argue the performance of this one, however.
This is the cheapest hack to order a "poor man's Z06" just order a 3LT Z51 and the supercharger from GM performance not to void the warranty
Cmon why not just do the road test for every vid, why yall gotta blueball us by doing quick spins and first drives 😭
Bring back the round taillights a d it will be perfect. 😀
Corvette 6.2 self destructing like the 6.2 in the trucks, or are they two different builds?
FAR different builds. Like comparing a basketball to a barbell
Is a hairpiece and gold chain standard or optional
Those days are long gone. Grow up.
@281cobracar7 no one is buying vettes other than guys like that. Young.people can't afford the. 30 and 40 years olds have families and other priorities.
@@waynerogers6621Not true. Biggest growth in the C8 demographic is the 40 and under crowd.
@markw9512 last new vetted I saw on the road was driven by a old guy with a disabled veteran license plate and I told my wife I know what he did with his 3600.00 monthy comp check
A older C6/ 7 pulled next to me for gas bright yellow with another old guy with gold chains needed a hair piece but he went telly
Savales instead.
@@waynerogers6621 and I bet whatever you drive is way cooler, out corners, brakes, and handles it, is faster, and is not driven by anybody over age 30 right?
Do you like Electric Corvette?
no
Good numbers to be sure. By my God, when are they going to redesign/de-uglyfy it!? Awkward and overstyled to the nth
The added bodywork of the Z06 gives it a much better look but this gen 'Vette looked dated from the word go. I've seen some colors and trims that look good so I'm not saying it's ugly or I hate it but the C7 was a much cooler car. This just looks like a corporate version of every other mid engine sports car out there.
The party is over on the C8
Hell no
The party just started....
Looks alright. For the money I’d get a Audi r8 v10, though.
Far better quality too.
Says a guy who’s never owned an Audi
@@Steve-gc5nt The R8 is a money pit, bro.
The R8 is long in the tooth and you aren’t getting one for the same price as a C8 unless it is fairly well used.
Totally impractical scrap every bump, crawling in and out, blind spot, high insurance etc.
It's a sports car not a Cadillac
And it doesn’t scrape every bump. If you need it, you can option it with front axle lift.
