Same, and then I found out that you have to go in the direction it’s gonna end up in and I’ve done it easily ever since
If you didn’t know that and need a tip that’s what you have to do, don’t follow it, instead go in the direction the emerald is going to end up. Hope I helped someone out there

The Mania ones are legit so good I wish I didn't have to make a new save just to play them each time. Putting a bunch of new ones in the extra menu like the Blue Spheres and the Mean Bean Machine would've been perfect.

Fun fact: If you press the W button in the PC version of sonic mania, you can get extra speed and do it indefinitely, thereby getting millions of points.
Blue spheres is awesome. And it's odd that you dislike them in one game but like them in another it doesn't make any sense.

So,... fun fact the green emerald isn't programmed to avoid you on a linear path like the others, due to how the stage is played out it follows a specific looping path so you can just stay in one area and camp for it

Triple trouble has the best special stages. They have boss fights and you get to pilot the tornado in a couple.

I agree with ALMOST everything, just a question. What about Knuckles Chaotix? Those are my favorite!
Hint: On Sonic 2, go to options and choose "Only Sonic" or "Only Tails" because having the Tails A.I following you on the Special stages makes everything harder.
Lowkey, idek if Knuckles Chaotix is part of the mainline games. Either way imma need to find a way to play it for a future video haha!

How the hell are the Sonic 1 special stages easy, I can never even get a single emerald.
I like sonic 2 special stages, they are easy after a lot of times playing them, sonic 3 is kinda easy but the ones for the super esmeralds are kinda hard, and the fact you need to fung thw ring make losing special stages be a pain in the ass

Sonic rush had pretty fun and rewarding special stages, they're pretty easy and the last few can be challenging and they play like sonic 2's
I didn't get to play rush adventure yet
Sonic colors had really unique special stages. Didn't experience them very well yet but they're certainly unique

The first time I played it, the emerald was hard to get but it’s easier now once I do different playthroughs. I found out if you just camp a spot, it’ll fly past you, making it easier to grab!!

And as for general,my favorite is the ones from the ds version of sonic colors. Very easy,even when I was younger.

Gotta disagree about the half pipe from Sonic 2. Those stages were the worst in the original genesis version, but it’s more tolerable in the Christian Whitehead remaster
The CD special stages also suck, Sonic moves too quickly after a while and the turning is too slow
The Blue Sphere from Sonic 3 & Knuckles are great. It’s pacing is perfect and controls are responsive
