These are often called a "seal", but are more of a shield. Typically the doors don't actually seal at the bottom. Thus, overfilling (faulty float or valve) or abnormal spray pattern, as pointed out by lightlyone and George Miclea, can allow water to flow between door and tub.
Brooo you saved me a tech visit with your comment. I just finished cleaning and changing the bottom ‘seal’ and I still had water coming out…because of the irregular stream coming from not having put the upper tray back on.
Many dishwashers have no bottom seal and can then leak due to a float level problem, bottom spinner arm problem, etc, causing waving of the water to the point water comes out the bottom. Something I've not seen mentioned in any videos is--is the water underneath the dw dirty or clean?
Thanks for your video. I'm trying to diagnose a leak from the bottom of the door. Have already replaced the rubber door seal, with no fix. My question is, how to know if bottom seal is indeed the issue.
@@336MiniMafia I am on the same boat. I cannot find any info on how this piece can be cause of a leak. These videos show how to replace it but no clue on why. What does the faulty seal look like? Etc.
@@MrKaravelioglu I replaced the whole door seal and the lower door seal. I never could fix the issue, and I had to buy a new dishwasher. I was tired of throwing money at it.
@@336MiniMafia I replaced the lower door seal as well. The leak was still there. I think the leak is from the main hub, but I did not try to replace that. I bought another one also.
@@MrKaravelioglu I'm currently dealing with this myself. I replaced the door seal, the lower door seal, the diverter motor, and fixed some leveling issues. I've pulled each of the wash arms and rinsed them out thoroughly....still...the dishwasher leaks out both sides of the lower part of the door. I'm not sure where to turn next...very frustrating

Well done and was very helpful!

I have the same situation

Kitchen aid door seal
This is the way to do your seal - not the other video who has you using duct tape. More than likely using that method the screws will not line up.
Thanks for the instructions. Don't like how you said it was easy in the beginning tho. A bit misleading
Next time use a proper screw gun with a clutch (unless you want to strip the screwheads).
