1. Real Amp 2. Neural Fortin 3. Kemper 4. Bias Fx 2 All of them sounded good in high gain but the nuances with the rolled back volume tell the real story. Great playing by the way and very engaging video, congrats. 🎊
Love the way you make your videos with a great sense of humor and ymreally demostrating your deep knowledge about Mr. Marty Friedman himself (really hoped someone pointed out his punk shoes tbh), keep up the great work, man, you've got a suscriber. By the way, excellent cover of Undertow, really love that song and you nailed it😎
lol I'm so glad that you like my video! those shoes are really not for everyone despite how rock they look...Marty is really a one-of-a-kind master in rock history
Just randomly came across your channel and I must say son ,you got some serious chops there marty is a very good musician to emulate as your hero or whatever 😀 Marty really is a very unique axe man wondering to his very own sound and style and not your typical rock n roll or metal guitarist which there nothing wrong with being typical thats me copying the greats ,but marty has gone far beyond what most of us will ever achieve shooting for the stratosphere lol and putting himself on the history map as a unique musician which is what most of us want to eventually achieve freidman is definitely i very good act to emulate and learn from .and you aren't so bad yourself there keep at it we learn our instruments for our entire lifetime experience and constant playing is the key .now being noticed by the right people to get your career goin is definitely a true gamble 90 percent of us dont make it but stay at it connect with people with same interests and I will be routing for you .thanks for sharing.
Nice video, I like your sense of humor hehe. Btw, you've played it just PERFECT... the tones are also great. This video should have way more views. Subscribed!
Wonderful man i really enjoyed the video and your playing!! Speaking of quality of the sound i must say that the real amp (Engl) and Neural DSP are the kings. However i must say that even if not crystal clear i love the Bias FX vibe (sounded the closest to Marty Tone x esp clean parts) Kemper quality is ok but sounded a bit sterile. 1.Engl amp 2.Bias FX 3.Neural Dsp 4.Kemper
The amp is of course, his signature and nails his tones. Neural is pretty close. Close enough to not need to buy the amp. Kemper was alright sometimes. Others, not great. Biasfx as well. Sounded mid scooped at the end and often didn't sit well in the mix
@@princeofgiri I've tried some alternative approaches and have actually got quite satisfying results. You can use your Touch Wah in the wah-wah module, lower the peak and Q until you feel like it's right, and then put it in front of an Engl Powerball amp sim and there you go. The way Marty uses AF9 is pretty much just like a moderately set dynamic auto wah.
My reply comes much later, sorry I was too busy at work recently😭 Back to what you asked, I actually learned it by my ears + my personal understanding about Marty's note selection habits, so it's half-hearing half-guessing I believe
Hey man glad to find your channel and this video. Great playing and tones, it really comes from the hands / bends which you do properly. How different is playing with the maxon af9? I want to test out with a clone pedal, the mooer funky monkey seems to be a clone of the af9 and costa only 50 bucks.
AF9 is basically an auto wah, affecting your tone in a way that rounds up your attack via EQ and makes it sound juicy. Check out the solo of other version of "Tornado of souls" in Marty's "Future addicted" and compare it back to the on in "Rust in Peace", you'll know what it's about. It makes your sound more dynamic but in a unique, processed way.
Yep he played through this 紅蓮華 live on his youtube page but the track I put here is the studio version that will be in his Tokyo Jukebox 3 released October👌
Kind of upsetting that the bias fx one sounds the worst. I have that same marty plugin on mine and I thought it sounded good, but the other amps did a way better job at capturing his sound
IMO Megadeth part of marrty's career is his bottom. Yeah the solos are good but I prefer his more chill aproach with Jason in Cacophony. And his solo stuf is by far the peak of his career. I don't like his realy early stuff but man. Early Japan stuff was realy heavy and catchy, and some albums like Scenes is realy sad and bittersweet. His 3 tokyo jugbox albums are just the best anime-like instrumental music you'll find.
You are absolutely right on his solo stuff (though the 3 Jukeboxes are cover & re-arrange albums). Constantly he up the game of himself from album to album
Holy shit man I just stumbled on this video on accident. Your playing has it’s own vibrato in a good way apart from Marty’s. The Neural and ENGL sounded the best to my ears. The BIAS sounded lifeless in comparison to the rest.
THIS NEEDS MORE VIEWS
The note combined with the backing track at 8:06 is incredible
Glorious playing my friend !!!! I must admit I preferred the bias FX Marty's tone
Wow same with Marty himself🤣

I like the way your rigth hand does. Really mimic what marty's does

Awesome job dude!! Playing is super expressive as well.

Great job, man. You really played that great.
I liked the Engl best, then the Kemper, then the Neural, then Bias.
Wow sweet words and mean ears, thank you very much🤩
Amazing man! Greetings from Japan!
Thank you! Greetings from China😎Keep safe
Great video! 🤘🏼🔥
And your editing is amazing 👏🏽
Haha thanks a lot my friend
@@wenxuexianfeng 👍🏼🤘🏼
Great work! Judging from that right hand technique, you weren't lying about being a huge fan of Marty lol
Earned a new sub!
lol thank you for subscribing!
very nice bro...wow the real amp is the deal but also the BIAS signature is also good..
Gotta say, the actual amp sounds the best. As it should.
I agree but there’s no way to sound like Marty without mimicing his vibrato and phrasing an am helps but tone is in the fingersss
You've mastered all his technics. Bravo! 👏
Awesome dude! Thank you for this!
Damn fortin is impressing! I'm buying it
The 50 watt combo doesn’t lie!!!!
My fav Marty tune. You nailed it!!
Loved your video!! Especially the little details about Marty :D
Name of the song at 3:10?
@@thekidfromanotherplanet Thank you man! that's a Japanese Song called Gurenge

beautiful cover.
holy crap, i was just on your profile wondering when you were going to upload a video
Wow I'm so flattered hearing that! Thanks for checking it out and that's LUCKY for both of us!

thanks for these detailed comments! Marty himself likes Bias the most lol
1. Engl Amp + Mic
2. Bias FX 2 Plug In
No more... no doubt, anything else... no bad, just different
Great Video!!!
awesome video!!! subbed
Nee subscriber here nice vlog editing and content. Lets rock
Great job
For me, the ENGL sounds thick and creamy af!!
Superb

What is the title of the song in 0:16
That's White Worm from his 2017 album Wall of Sound
HOLY GOD that actually sounds exactly like his tone that is so cool sheesh 😂
lol Thanks man, he's got all different kinds of tones throughout his whole career but whatever never changed always comes out of his hands
Can I see your fortin nts suite setting?
The settings shown in the image of my video is the exact setting that I was playing with. Just pause and get it from me XD
What's the song @ 00:16 seconds ?
whiteworm
may i know what song/concert or link at 1:05?
That's A-mei Chang's Victoria's Secret(张惠妹/阿密特,维多利亚的秘密)from her world tour 2010😜
That tone was perfect. I only use ge200 and try to figure out how its work
I happen to have a GE300lite as well as an even cheaper Valeton GP100, perhaps I can make something with them in the following videos lol
@@wenxuexianfeng that would be great. The main keys is there's no AF-9 in there.

@@wenxuexianfeng hei, its quite enough even still something like missing. I also try 535 wah with all zero exect level. but it's okay both. :)
Definitely engl the best sound.
ecualizacion amp??
Nice vídeo I love Marty Friedman too😀😂🤟
cool
Can we get that backing track
What are the pedals you use in Neural dsp and what is their configuration?
This only made me realize how better everything else sounds than Bias FX, and that's all I have right now >.
Oh don't feel bad! Actually Marty himself thought that Bias sounds the best to him in his facebook fans' group😛
There are way better Marty presets made by other users on BIAS. You just have to look around and customise.
Use Amplex by nalex (free) use firecube depth bright (or any of the firecube presets in this amp sim that can emulate tons of amps) and HQ IR's
what the song title at 00.17 - 00.23 ?
White Worm from his 2017 album “Wall of sound"
i didnt know if Rich Bryan can play guitar too
Hey man care to share ur fortin preset for this? Unless it's shared somewhere and i missed it
It' tuned exactly as what I showed as screenshot in the video, feel free to pause for the settings if you need them haha

Did Marty use the maxon pedal in his early Cacophony years? Or Megadeth? His tone on Rust in Peace definately sounds like it.
I think the 2nd long solo on hangar18 has the maxon.
The profile sounded great, where was it from?
Yeah. I would like to know to
Good question. This kemper actually belongs to one of my guitar nerd bros. Let me make sure if he still has those memories...
The song in the background doesnt sound as the song that it is on UA-cam. Is another version?
Yep he played through this 紅蓮華 live on his youtube page but the track I put here is the studio version that will be in his Tokyo Jukebox 3 released October👌
You need Marty's secret weapon. Ibanez AF-9 Auto Filter. I guess a Maxon is good enough.
Kind of upsetting that the bias fx one sounds the worst. I have that same marty plugin on mine and I thought it sounded good, but the other amps did a way better job at capturing his sound
No need to be sad. Marty himself likes Bias the most, according to his own repost of this video in his fb fans group✌🏻

The ENGL sounds most realistic in terms of recreating Marty's sound, but Neural provides the best and precise sound.
