  • On today’s episode of The His & Her Money Show, we talk about a unique business opportunity that you might not have heard about, being a mobile notary.
    While the job of “mobile notary” doesn’t get a lot of press, it gets a lot of work. As the owner of a notary agency and notary training school, Andre Hatchett will tell you, notaries are needed everywhere.
    Mobile notaries are needed to witness documents, sign loans, verify wills, take fingerprints, and much more. Mobile notaries can make good money, whether they work part-time or full-time.

    This is not as easy at it sounds. I have done this for years along with process service. You have to be absolutely sure of what you are doing. In addition, you think you are only going to be at that residence or office for no more than 45 minutes to an hour. I rarely ever left before 2 hours. You have to be prepared that they are going to ask you questions, most of which you are not able to answer. Even though you ask them to contact the person or persons who are requesting the service. Often times, the person is not home, even though you have made an appointment with them and you have to make return trips. It is a good paying job; however, I just wanted to say that it has it's pros and cons. Many thanks to him for the video. He was very informative.

    YOU JUST DON’T KNOW how you’ve inspired me. I “thumbled” on this video and just thought I’d check it out as I’ve just submitted my application for commissions 2 days ago. The sweet part about all of this is that I’m from Illinois and finding Illinois specific videos has been a chore. The fact that you asked just about all of the questions I’ve been wanting to know from an Illinois point of view is NOTHING BUT A DIVINE ACT OF GOD. I currently am employed and want to include this as part of my multiple streams of income. Thanks for this information.

    Washington state’s largest credit union, BECU, notarizes for free to anyone with a WA state ID (no account needed). Other banks and credit unions do it for free if you have an account. Most lawyer offices have their secretaries authorized as notaries and it’s free to clients.
    I’m sure it’s a good side hustle elsewhere. Here, it’s gone the way of doing medical billing from home (that’s not been a viable income source here since 2008).

    • @gstevens866
      @gstevens866 3 роки тому

      Some title companies do not have people who will travel. Some clients do not have time to come to the title companies location to sign their documents. Clients appreciate flexibility and the title company can get more done by staying at the office working on their files and letting a mobile notary take care of the signings. We include it in the closing costs and dont have to pay the notary a salary or insurance for their services, the client is actually paying for it.

      Mo Clay Make sure you're charging per signature too. If they need more than one document or if two people need their signature notarized charge for each signature.

      Consider taking his course. I would bet that you would not be confined to that as a Mobile Notary in the state of Virginia! I have been considering doing this for a long time and just the other day, looked into it on my state's website and now came across this video, I am READY!

    Each State is different, Pennsylvania requires education before you can even apply for a general Notary Public. You have to takeit a 3 hour course, get a certificate and then you can apply for the general Notary Public pay $42 for app. , you will have to take a State Exam $65 pass with a 75 score 30 questions 25 law questions smh and this is just for a General Notary. After your commission appointment you can then apply for the Loan Signing Agent Certification....this is a serious business and comes with an expense but worth it.

    Right right on...at about 17:35....not even telling my fam and friends until I start booking a good bit. Not much else deflating in life than friends and close family raining on your parade with a bunch of negative chatter...it's sad when fam and friends don't support us morally🤷‍♀️
    Oh well. They won't know about it until I have it in the books (unless they read this of course😉)

      Avery McDaniel idk if that is or isn't true, but even if it is, notaries are needed for far more documents types than just real estate.
