Female Friday suggestion: Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance
I second "Buffalo Stance" ... I wanna see Mama Amber dancing in her chair ❤❤😂
It's a MUST!
Yes!
Also by her - Kisses on the Wind
And Buddy X.
Billie Myers - Tell Me. That is the real jam!
Love it!
The singer your thinking of Jay is Alanis Morissette. Billie Myers great voice great song thank you!!!
New music:
1. "You Gotta Be" by Des'ree/1994
2. "Everything Is Everything" by Lauryn Hill/1998
3. "Papa Don't Preach" by Madonna/1986
4. "Come Share My Love" by Miki Howard/1986
Oh wow. I LOVED THIS SONG SO MUCH!!! I had forgotten about it!! Thx guys!! ❤
OMG I loved this song when it came out.
I had moved that summer before high school and played this missing my friends on repeat.
@@jessicamahoney4610 sad to say I completely forgot about this song until now. Makes me wonder what other things I've forgotten.
@@janel1386 I'm sure I've forgotten some real gems. Hope I remember them again lol.
Me toooooo and I totally forgot about it!! Do you remember the song “Stay” by Shakespear’s Sister?❤❤❤❤
I absofreakinglutely love when either of you recall a past song or artist. You truly enjoy learning about music, even when you didn’t think you ever would (Jay). Been with you since your AC/DC “never going to like this music” reaction on your buddy’s channel, Rome Life Reacts, and have welcomed a wonderful addition of Amber to add a little bit of quirk and softness to the channel. Absolutely love seeing your journey(s). ❤
I haven't heard this in years! I remembered the words though. This was one of my favorites.
It's been a while since I've heard this!! Wow!! Always liked this one. Great to hear it!
This is my favorite song of all time. Such a voice! Thank you for doing this amazing song.
I've had her cd for 27 years and I still listen to it. Thanks guys!
I haven't heard this song in years, but once it started all the lyrics came back to me like I listened to it yesterday ❤
Yay!!!! I’ve been suggesting this song since I found your channels a couple yrs ago!
This song is one I sing on the top of my lungs. It’s so good and soooo relatable.
I’m so happy you loved it too!!!🎉🎉🎉
OMG I can't believe you guys did Billie Myers!!!!!! This song came out when I was born and I grew up listening to it. That one and her other single, The Shark and the Mermaid which was amazing too. Thank you for hearing this one!!!!!
I haven`t heard this in ages... WOW!!! Everything about this video is stunningly beautiful, such a gorgeous looking woman and voice WOW! Great video and reaction guys. Peace and brother love to you and all.
I LOVE this song. Wha a gem, and pretty obscure. I've never meant anyone who has ever heard her music. That sustained high note at the end...perfection, as Amber said! Another great song of hers that you should check out next is Tell Me. Props to whoever suggested this one!
This song is saved as a favorite. Total chill vibe.
This brings back memories, such a distinctive voice and sound, still sounds great after all these years
Female Friday suggestions: “Toy Soldiers” by Martika, “Buffalo Stance” by Neneh Cherry, “Sunny Came Home” by Shawn Colvin, “I Can’t Stay Away From You” by Gloria Estefan, “Lost in Emotion” by Lisa Lisa
How about sara bareilles
This is a surprise. I can't believe you did Billie Myers and Kiss the Rain. This was her big hit here in the US. I don't know if she made it bigger in the UK.
Nah she was pretty much a one hit wonder over here too lol
Yes - couple of top hits, tell me and this. Her debut album did really well. Great tracks include The Shark and the Mermaid...
Reached #4 here 🇬🇧 May 1998
@@inspiredfunkmark Oh, the Shark and the Mermaid is good too. Her debut album is actually legit fun.
Oh man, love this one. And surprisingly, over the past few years, I've played it a few times. From times past, I suppose.
I love her yell towards the end. The broken-heartedness of it all. The "just please leave" feeling.
This song was in a playlist loop at work, years ago. I set it up so that it would feed through a computer and play kaleidoscopic patterns that absolutely fit the mood. Loved it.
Jordan, you're trying to remember Alanis Morrisette. I can definitely see what you mean.
My, literally, first song I asked for you listen to.... ❤❤❤ thank you, whenever I play this song I always get numerous people asking "Who's that" ... Billie Myers is amazing check out: "Mother, Daughter, Sister, Lover" Afraid of Spiders", "Tell Me ", Am I Here Yet"... her debut album Growing, Pains ... bought immediately after Kiss the Rain ... it's so good
I haven’t heard this song in years! Thanks for the reminder.
In this video when she’s singing in the rain it’s balls to the walls emotion. You feel it and can see it In Her face
Omg this song and her heart wrenching vocals!!! Omg fire !🔥
Her voice is sultry.
❤She was so cool because her voice was different and did standout from other artists. I love all her stuff....You Send Me Flying is really good.
I like her. I’m not sure if the voice, or the song , reminds me of someone, or if I’ve heard her before. She is Awsome.
Wow, I honestly haven’t thought of nor heard this song in 15 years! Thanks for the nostalgia!
Also Please don't forget to check out:
Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man - Candy Man (Both Great Horns !!) Also - Lady Marmalad
Annie Lenox (Eurythmics) - Would I Lie to You - I Need a Man - Thorn in My Side

Shikira - When ever Where ever - Objection Tango
Head Pins - Don't it Make You Feel (like Dancing) - Turn it Loud - Just One More Time
Toronto - Your Daddy Don't Know - Start Telling the Truth
I have not heard this song in many years and it is so great to rediscover it, this is a real hidden gem
Love, Love. Love this Song❤❤❤
I forgot about this one. Thank you
Thank you for playing this, I over played this song at a point in my life. And then I forgot about this song.
Loved this one back in the day. Saw it on Dawsons creek😂
Great song!
You're thinking of Alanis Morrisett.
Yay!!! Love this song.
So glad you done this, something I suggested ages ago.
Awesome.
I love this song!!!
Great choice, Amber. This whole album is really good.
i suggested this twice. thanks!
'Kiss the Rain' is my very favorite from Billie Myers. 'Opposites Attract' is another good one.
FOESHOW
FOESHOW
FOESHOW
Thank you for doing this and taking our recommendations seriously...love you two.
Finally a singer that y'all haven't featured before. There are more. Keep listening to the people.
This song should have been #1 in america. Written by the same guy who wrote One Of Us for Joan Osborne
Almost lover. By fine frenzy Is a hidden gem . Worth a listen
whata great song.....reminds me of a sad breakup i had exactly at that time....still haunts me...beautuful song and still hurts me
My favorite one hit wonder, and total bisexual icon! I saw her live during Lilith Fair and even if you don't do a reaction video, "Having Trouble with the Language" is also so good. She also has some great liner notes, like, "A man once told me he could never be unfaithful to his mistress".
Great to see you do this Billie Myers classic! To the best of my knowledge she was pretty much a one hit wonder though.
Cant believe you guys have forgotten Alanis Morissette's name! She's an icon!
More Female Friday's from the 90's.. Des'ree's songs "Ya Gotta Be", "Kissing You" and "Life".
That voice you're thinking of,
Alanis morissette
Oh yes I remember this now man what a great one!
You should react to her song "Tell me" too ! 🔥
Man...talk about a 90s classic. Anytime this song comes on, it instantly brings me joy and warm feelings. Another song I think you guys would enjoy is "Thinking Over" by Dana Glover. I feel like their voices are kind of similar.
She did a live version on Jools Holland which was awesome
Imho the 90s is the best era of music.
So many strong female voices in that decade.
Lilith Faire brought them to us but they were always there, just never had the platform before. ❤
As usual great reaction. Amber you just get dialed in to the core of a song. ❤
Co-written by Desmond Child, who wrote a lot with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and KISS, among MANY others. Desmond misheard Glycerine by Bush and thought he was singing Kiss the Rain. He found out otherwise and used the title for this song.
Man, this song hits me with so much nostalgia. I was born in 1987, so I grew up in the 90's. I definitely prefer 90's music, but I also don't mind modern music too.
I'm a sucker for nostalgia-inducing music. There's a song called After Dark by Mr. Kitty that just overwhelms me with nostalgia, you should listen to it.
Songwriters:
Billie Myers, Eric Bazilian and Desmond Child.
Love this song. Still have the cd ❤
I am soooo surprised to see this song show up. Ive loved this song since it csme out but people rarely know it
😮😮😮 thank you! I use to love this sad but sadly was forgotten, i love alot loo, going on playlist now 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Oh i remember this. I never knew who sang it.
‘ Kiss the Rain’ was released in September 1997. Another powerhouse female vocal that was released a few months earlier, in May 19 97, was Meredith Brooks’ ‘Bitch’. This would be a great one for Female Friday. Another Female Friday suggestion: anything from Des’ree’s album, ‘Supernatural’: Jay would love ‘Down by the River’ and ‘Time’. All the songs on this album are bangers!
This song was so different and cool. Very emotional too. Thanks for doing this excellent forgotten favorite!
"Tell me" was a minor radio tune for Billie
This song makes me think of the famous boardwalk scene between Dawson&Joey in Dawson’s Creek. Also this song came out the year I wad born.
Milla Jovovich, star of many a film is also quite the singer. The Gentleman Who Fell is a great one for female friday.
Great song! She was kind of a one-hit wonder, sadly, but her follow-up single, Tell Me, was my absolute favorite of hers.
The new Amy Winehouse movie is about to be released in the U.S. so it would be great to have the song from her first album that put her on the map " Stronger Than Me". We all know how much Jay loves Amy and i think this could be his favourite song yet!
Love this song !!! 😇 She’s British.
I’ve always loved this song! Still have it in my playlist. Such memories of so many years ago. I think I might have been about 16 or 17 years old when this came out.
I agree with Jay, she sounds very much like Alanis Morissette. That was the first thing I thought of when I heard her voice 😊, which is great, by the way!
Still love this song❤️ Another 90’s song that never dies on my 90’s playlist is Let it Rain by Amanda Marshall. Also very very 90’s🙂 I dare you to not howl”Raaaaaaaai eeee aain” by the end of it😉
Thriving Ivory did a fantastic cover of this song
Vocals similar to Alanis Morissette/Linda Perry/ Pink.
I think I mentioned this in another of your Doris Day reactions, but you should definitely watch “Pillow Talk” with Rock Hudson. It’s so funny and she’s super classy.
I heard this song at work. I thought Pink was singing the "kiss the rain" part
This song is like a religious experience for me.🥰🥰🥰
Following this theme, i recommend you do next :
Madonna - rain
Roxette - queen of rain
Carpenters - rainy days and mondays
I was think her voice reminded me at times of Alanis Morrisette too. A few songs to keep in mind for future Female Fridays are...1) Sinead Lohan-No Angel,,,2) Cathy Dennis-Touch Me (All Night Long)...3) Tara Kemp-Hold You Tight.
Good song good reaction
Brilliant song, and such a sad one. You cannot control people, she must be in a broken relationship when she cannot trust the man she is with to have to plead with him to consider her by kissing the rain.
Another viewpoint if you remove the issue of mistrust, is it can be seen as a man on service abroad for such a long time his consideration of her may change. And to kiss the rain is to remember her.
The feeling of being left behind in a relationship is an utterly soul shattering experience.
Please consider for next female Friyay - Skunk Anansie - Twisted (Every Day Hurts) which I view focuses on a different kind of loss.
I totally forgot about this one.
Forgot about this song. Brings back happy memories of my 20s. 😊❤😊❤
Not listened to this is an age - great tune. You should try Tell Me as well for a bit of slight naughty fun!
This song always reminds me of breaking up with the love of my life. This broke me again this morning. I've avoided it for so long. Nice to see someone else getting it. Sort of...
Awesome, one of those songs from the 90's that was overplayed on the radio and on MTV. Great vibe and melody. For Female Friday, I highly suggest a new artist: Sharon O' Neill and the song is "Maxine." She's a singer/songwriter from Australia. Thanks!
Just noticed you've never done Melissa Manchester on Female Friday! Her song "You Should Hear How She Talks About You" is straight up Amber's alley!
Thank you for reminding me how awesome this song is. I was 22 years old when it came out, after just celebrating my 49th birthday, it's great to see someone discovering it for the first time. You guys really should listen to the song Say I Won't by Mercy Me. I think you will love it.
Your channel gives me a chance to hear stuff I have not heard before, thanks. 75 Cubans from around the world performing in this song. Guantanamera | Playing For Change |
Totally forgot about this one.
Try Billie’s “Return To Sender/Am I Here Yet”.
There was a club version to this that was great. If you all ever ver more into club artist: Kristine W, Amber, Crystal Waters, Joselyn Enrique, Stars on 54, DJ's - Frankie knuckles, Chris Cox, Junior Vasquez, Shep Pettibone (old school), Club 69, Clivillés & Cole, Thunderpuss
add another Billie, check out Billie Ray Martin and her 90s gem Your Loving Arms
O k i'm putting in my vote for female friday and I think y'all should do Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam- song All Cried Out
Great song to feature. This was on repeat back in the day, along with "Sleeping Satellite" by Tasmin Archer.
I thought I'd also make a suggestion for another female artist to give a listen, if interested. "Tori Amos - Winter (Live)[VEVO]" (by the channel: Tori Amos) --Tori Amos is an American singer/songwriter and pianist. She is a classically trained musician with a mezzo-soprano vocal range (which basically means she's a baritone...which is mainly used for men). She won a full scholarship to the Peabody Institute at John Hopkins University at age five, the youngest person to ever have been admitted. And she's from my home state (he he😏) North Carolina. so, I'm a bit biased. But I think you'll enjoy her music, and she has amazing stage presence. She gives fantastic concerts. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you two. Thanks for sharing. peace out~
