I love the line, "in a sky full of people, only some want to fly, isn't that crazy"... it's so true. It's like so much potential just thrown away or not realized. It's like falling from grace in a way.

i hope you'll understand that you have to look at the lyrics, in the light of the times, back then, not in the light of these dark times, full of scensorship, and self doubt, gender uncertainty, 9:31 cancel culture will cancel itself off, but by then the damage will be done and irreversible like it always was and forever will be...in twenty years time you will be ashamed of your generation, and the part you are unwittingly playing in throwing everything down a memory hole...(read 1984, available on line and shiver, the future is already laid out)

To this day, i still have a CD Maxi Single
of Crazy. It's my favorite song by Seal.
In 2005, i worked at a record store in
a celebrity heavy part of Los Angeles.
Seal came into the DVD department looking for movie recommendations for he and his then wife Heidi Klum and family to watch for movie night.
He was such a genuinely KIND, engaging,
and vested person to interact with. He took every movie i recommended to him with genuine interest, and even gave me a lite neck massage because he saw i was having a long day.
In person, Seal is a TALL/LARGE man.
Like a professional athlete. A really cool experience. Super talented, and super cool to deal with.

This song has amazing keyboards throughout and the wah wah petal guitar is played by Kenji Suzuki from Simply Red. Seal's vocals are so beautiful and the instruments give a wonderful compliment to a great melody. This has been featured in many movies. Great reaction. This was massive when it came out in the UK. It's hard to describe how groundbreaking this was now that we take dance-pop as a thing that's normal. Tapping into the dance vibe of Adamski's Killer (featuring Seal), Seal moved on to his own release that broke new ground with a soulful futuristic vibe that's definitely on the brink of being straight up Balearic house with its laid-back smooth arpeggiators and piano chords. The structure is also very unique in my view, sounding to be off from the usual 4,, 8, 16 bar kick-ins to get re-entry into the hooks and chorus, which is probably what was keeping it intriguing, unpredictable and sounding fresh to this day.

I LOVE Seal! His self titled album (with "Bring it On", "Prayer for the Dying", "Kiss From a Rose", etc.) has become my theme music for driving across the Smoky Mountains from Cherokee to Gatlinburg. There is not a weak song on the whole album and the vibe fits the scenery perfectly. I put it on repeat and drive through with the windows open (in the winter I bundle up with hat and gloves), the music on softly, and enjoy both the nature and the music.

Take note Jay, Seal came out in the '90s. We had some soulful men in the '90s: Maxwell, D'Angelo and Seal. And great and unique women: Erykah Badu and Me'Shell Ndegeocello. Seal has a beautiful song called "If I Could" that he did with Joni Mitchell that you should react to. He's also covered Steve Miller's "Fly like an Eagle" . I've always found Seal's music very hypnotic.

Love Seal. The man's voice is DIVINE. For further suggestions, I suggest "Love's DIvine" (pun intended), "Get It Together", "Newborn Friend", and perhaps the funkiest song in his discographry, "Killer". Also.... you've done "Crazy" by Seal, "Crazy" by Aerosmith, and "Crazy" by Patsy Cline... might I suggest "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley? P.S. One of my favorite stories that he related during an interview was one time, when he was touring, he was walking down a hotel corridor toward his room, and he passed a door through which her heard someone playing one if his songs. So he knocked on the door, and when a woman answered, he just started singing right where the song was. Her husband, who was in the bathroom, asked, "Who is it, honey?" and she said, "It's Seal!", and he said, "I know, I can hear him!" So awesome.

As Amber says at @5:00, the vibe is huge. Fun fact, along with Seal's voice (which is fantastic) this is due largely to the fact that the album was produced by the great Trevor Horn (who was the singer for Buggles - "Video Killed The Radio Star"). He produced SO many great albums in the 80's and 90's. Horn is known as "The man who invented the 80's" and there's a good case for that argument. Horn is Seal's music director for his upcoming tour and the Buggles are going to open the show.

As people have pointed out, Seal is a very soulful, versatile singer. His breakthrough for many came in 1990 with Adamski the underground house music producer from London who featured him on the track "Killer" which was a massive global dance hit and launched Seal's career. You might want to review to see where it all began

Crazy was his first hit here in The States. It was considerably earlier than Kiss From A Rose. He was younger. This is more representative of his repertoire, though KISS FROM A ROSE (a rare waltz) is my favorite. Side note formerly married to Heidi Klum.

Fantastic song from Seal. His music has always been very different, but very intriguing.
Okay, now you *have* to react to Seal and - wait for it - Joni Mitchell. _If I Could_ was a duet they sang on Seal's "Seal" 1994 album. Seal has always contended Mitchell heavily influenced his musical career. Mitchell later returned the favour and had him join her on her remake of _How Do You Stop_ (on her Grammy Award-winning "Turbulent Indigo" album from 1994).

This was released when I was a senior in high school. There's something really special (at least for me) about those senior year songs, when you're on the brink of "adulthood," starting to navigate your own life, and you feel almost invincible. There are definitely beats and sounds that you'd hear in a high-energy hip-hop or funk song but paired with such a chill score they become ethereal. Seal's buttery vocals then elevate the song even further, and if you close your eyes and block out your surroundings, it almost feels like you're flying. Another song with the same essence is "World Hold On" by Bob Sinclar from 2006.

"Crazy" came out when I was listening only to the most difficult, noisy, "unlistenable" hardcore rock I could get my hands on (there was a War coming on, and I was a Marine in Hawai'i) so I didn't hear it. A couple years later, after terminating with that same mentality, I started work at my hometown University's TV station, and someone there asked for "Crazy" in a part of a video I was editing, and gave me the CD. I remember just sitting back, and privately going "HOLY MOLY, this is just freakin' BEAUTIFUL!" I'm blessed enough by now to be friends with one of his long-standing touring musicians, and he is an outstanding, super-positive person as well. Seal is a magnificent artist whom I will always love.

"It was 1990-so many things happened in either 1990 or 1989: the Berlin Wall came down, there was the discovery of fractals and chaos theory, Tiananmen Square. I felt the cycle had reached its apex. I felt the world changing and I felt profound things happening. I felt that we were never gonna survive unless we were a little bit crazy."
