Love this car! Got mine running with a max6, 1650kv , 19T Pinion. It performs great. The only weak spot are the inner ballbearings. Got me some vitavon hubs with bigger ballbearings and no more problems since then. I removed the handbrake and replaced the A-arms with rpm A-arms from the Kraton. I have replaced the front driveshafts with rpm, cvd driveshafts which are slightly thicker. Backflips tires, alloy brace , front and rear, 50kg servo. I reinforced the lexan panels of the body with spacers, reinforced tape, glass mesh and shoe goo. Since then it drives fantastic. I increased the punch to correct when jumping. Double backflips no problem but as you described in the video, because of the long chassis rather not suitable for this. The car loves gravel, sand and bumpy roads. It simply drives over it as if nothing was there. Very stable! Pretty much the most stable vehicle I've ever had in my hands. A little expensive but worth every cent.
Called my local hobby shop and they match the same price. They are expecting a shipment in tomorrow. I'll go and pick on up. It's such a good vehicle for that price.
@ Whoa, blast from the past! lol I love it man. I ended up with 3 of them. They absolutely rip. Not the best jumper/stunt rig, but sufficient in that as well. Pretty durable. Open terrain and higher speed off road situations the Fireteam absolutely eats it up. It’s needs room to breathe to get the full effect.👌 Hope this helps.
@@simba4396 I appreciate it. Just got back in the hobby having 2 little kids. I only have experience with a Typhon 3s and was wondering if the Fireteam 6s was better than the Mojave 6s. Just doing my research watching any videos I can you know
@ Totally. I have been there lol I watched/read everything under the sun back then. I still keep up on it all as well. The Fireteam is a major step up from the 3s Typhon, but in a much different way. You can have a good time with the Typhon almost anywhere since it’s smaller with much least weight/muscle behind it. The Typhon is excellent in its own right. The Fireteam needs much more room to use and isn’t near as “nimble” or “light on its feet” as the Typhon, if you understand what I mean. Same as the Mojave. The Mojave is far more nimble and left/right quick turn capable. But far less off road capable with rough terrain and being ready for whatever comes at you in general. The Fireteam eats up most any terrain you throw at it as is a much better overall “basher” type and super fast. But not great in terms of quick turning or precise steering. Mojave is better in that sense as well. The Mojave is such a good rig, you just can’t use it in all terrains as effectively as the fireteam. Especially winter conditions. Fireteam is a blast in the snow/ice. You got me on a rant, lol. I haven’t used them in a few months, so you got me all excited to get ‘em out for a run! I totally maxed 1 out with every upgrade imaginable, and left 2 stock. And I hate to admit it cuz of the amount of money I spent, but I prefer the stock setup! They hit a sweet spot of being fast as hell, Big enough for any terrain, and long/wide enough to be stable off road at higher speeds. Really, the stability stands out. And the tires are excellent as well. They really surprised me. The fireteam is essential 1/2 Mojave for the length, and 1/2 Keaton for the width. Literally. Half the parts I upgraded are from the Mojave and the rest from the Kraton.👍
This is my favorite of all my rc cars performance is unmatched in my rc arsenal. I'm super impressed. Love your videos your spot on with details and performance of rc cars.
I think your review is very well done. I think your description as creative is right on the money. It has a creative look and design. The tires look awesome. The controlled jumps looked spot on. It seem to handle rough and loose surfaces very well. The cost is the killer for me.
4s back flips are perfect for this car if your looking for a little more control in the air. Overall though this vehicle is probably my favorite off road vehicle. It stays planted very well and you can control this vehicle very easily.
I agree with you the rig handles very well. The high gust of speed when the throttle's applied and handling make me say wow every time I drive it. I am very impressed with my Fireteam!
My R/C shop still has the Fireteam on sale for $450. I just grabbed one and I can wait to run it. They actually have the Outcast EXB RTR for $500 I might have to pick one of those up this weekend.
It’s very stable & I’ve seen many videos of it being just sent over & over so maybe skip the small jumps & go for the bigger air that’s where it can take a beating over & over & not break. Mine is relatively new & I’ve had to replace the front wheel bearing on one side but I got Fast Eddy’s bearings. So then I noticed the pinion was loose so I replaced it with the Speed pinion. And that killed the esc whic( no longer comes on & blinks green. It was a day when it was +90 deg. & I did some speed runs & it would wheelie & scrape the back of the body. Then it died. Now I could contact Spectrum & probably get a replacement but this is where I’m at. I think it was just my fault for running it to hard & in heat so the New Hobbywing review you just did I’m looking to put that in now. Probably not going to use the modulation much but it’s cool it can. And it seems faster then the stock Spectrum electronics. I’ll use a Flysky controller & receiver with it also. What do you think about the New Hobbywing set up in it?
Great feedback Fish!!!!! Speed runs are dangerous since we do them over and over again and the motor temps soar. ESC shuts down when hot but there really is no motor sensor so it's up to us to pause and temp it. The new Hobbywing G2 sensored motor and esc alnk.to/4MwPnEc would be perfect for this. More power, punch and modulation. It is a heavy cage body and that motor will give it some go. Modulation too will get it around corners like a racer.
I love it would love a roller without body. I seen someone put Karton pivot balls ends and then it becomes really wide and a monster truck body even 1/7 scale infraction. Looks sweet monster truck conversation. Thanks soo much for sharing your review..
Looking forward to your final review of zd racing's dbx 07 with upgraded electronics comparable to the fireteam, and a head-to-head comparison between the two.
Desert racers use handbrakes in real life, I'm not sure why you think dirt makes a difference considering using a hand brake for cornering came from rally. Time to learn how to use the handbrake. 🤔🤔
Soon we will have 3000 dollar rcs...ridiculous prices no matter how advanced they are...people are insane willing to spend money just coz they have it lol

I just picked up a Fireteam for $500 plus tax! They had a 2 day sales with $150 off, and my local store sells it for $20 off.
Got mine for $399.99 + tax!

It handles extremely well in the air!
One of my fav jump car
I personally love the look of the tires AND body. Its different than your typical truck body that you see EVERYWHERE
Just bought one for $400 on Black Friday...came here for some buyers re-enforcement as I am new to the hobby! Cant wait. lol

Nice. Huge fan and owner of the Fireteam. Worth the $700
i am considering to buy it! how is diff lasting for you? is it easy to maintain?
Yes. The stock bearing are no good. But out side of that, this is my favorite basher. It’s smooth and stays close to the ground.
Really worth the 519.99 they are at Tower right now, with several others models,,,

what is rcs?
Remote control cars. I think that’s what there meaning by Rcs.
This vehicle is good at driving you deeper in debt over junk you can buy better vehicles more scaled and more durable stay away from this.
It seems Traxxas is a dead company now and when you order from them you get nothing.
I've had 2 Traxxas and both were absolute junk for the outrageous price. Never again. They can die and it would suit me fine.
