I guarantee FMS designed the pro to be slower to avoid dealing with warranty claims from people bashing them lol. I was so close to buying the pro but I just couldn’t get past how slow second gear is. That being said, they should just design what the people want and more people will want these rigs. They’re so close!
I would love to get the OG than the Pro❤
They’ll get it right. They listen and they iterate aggressively
@@RCReviewChannel that’s true. I mean the Fcx18 is practically perfect now, especially if you go the brushless mod route from Fair RC, it’s a TRX-4M killer. Maybe just one more iteration of the FCX10 and they can really give Traxxas a run for their money
I put a 18 tooth pinion in mine and haven’t had any issues. Still has good low end power and control in 1st
How did you put an 18 t pinion with that index motor mount? It does not seem like it will fit since it wasn’t madel for anything over 16 tooth
@ I tried a few different positions until I found one that wasn’t too tight and also wasn’t slipping. It’s probably not the spec mesh, but it was all a guessing game for me since I wasn’t able to find a key from FMS for motor mount indexing. Where’d you find that to know that 16 was the max? I’d just ordered a 32pitch set from Amazon that had 14-18 teeth pinions, tried 18 first and was able to get it to work. We’ll see how long it holds up. It has been through 5-6 2200 battery packs (primarily in high gear through the snow with my dog chasing) and it’s held up well. Took it apart after the second pack to check on things and all the gears still looked 100%
So you saying that the 32p gear fits not bad at all? because the 48p is impossible for it to work@thunderstruk
@ramrobertito Yes, the pinion needs to be 32p to be compatible with the stock spur.
Thanks, that helps 100%@thunderstruk
Thank you for this vid! I needed this
Uh huh……😂. Love your channel Francis
the two stage foams like those.. i take the outter off and to make it more soft, I use something like fridge foam for veggies for example. they have different stiffness and thickness. much much cheaper than anything the tire makers or 3d printed groups can make. Amazon has the inners available for as small as 3.9" tires to the 5.9" which is great so you can diy 2 stage
Nice upgrades bro!
Good job
What are the chances you would want to do an lp servo review and see if their numbers are correct. Also be good to see if lp servos are worth the money vs full size servos of the similar strength. I'm curious as to why the companies are telling us to buy full size unless needing lp. Is there a reliability issue for long term or is it because the numbers are not what they claim
The link for the pinion gear doesn't go to the product.
Is the pinion a 48p or a 32p?
15t pinion with a 3.175mm screw ok... but the size you fit is 5mm 9mm or what? Tks for the video!
Oh the shaft size is 3.175mm
Nice hat
We're the speeds you mentioned on 2S or 3S?
All 3s lipo
Hi, is anyone else having the outrunner motor being extremely hot after a few minutes of slow speed crawling? Is this normal?!
No, that is often a sign that there is something binding in the drivetrain. Try spinning the driveshafts by hand or rolling the vehicle on the ground with no power. The drivetrain should be free moving.
Motor could be broken too. It should only heat up under extended use of full power.
Those gears you said to buy in the link dont work for it thanks wasted money
