This vocation combines quick melee attacks with powerful magical abilities to help you control the fight, deal damage from a far and destroy anything that gets close to you with your signature duospear. Mastering this vocation involves understanding the flow of combat and knowing when and where to play aggressive or go on the defensive. The Mystic Spearhand, like all classes, has a number of different abilities for you to choose from as you increase your vocation rank and in today’s video, we’ll breakdown which skills are the best and how to best utilize them during combat. Some of these skills include Mirror vesture which makes you completely immune to damage and prevents you from being staggered for a short period of time and Dragouns Foin which is a powerful lunge attack that can close gaps and kill flying enemies very easily. This vocation blends offense and defense into a single formidable class and is highly effective against every single enemy in the game.
Lets talk about the best weapon skills for the mystic spearhand starting with Dragons Foin which is An advanced form of Dragoun's Stabbe that allows you to travel farther, deal more damage and inflict magick damage as well. This powerful lunge is useful for many things including closing gaps between you and your enemies, targeting flying enemies and traversing around the map to help you travel longer distances and explore areas you might have not been able to reach before. The Wild Furie ability will allow you to charge forward and unleash a barrage of attacks and a magic clone that attacks with you simultaneously. You can continuously preform this skill to help you destroy all enemies around you but its important to pay attention to your stamina bar so you don’t lose control and leave yourself vulnerable. Mirror Shelde is undoubtedly the best defensive skill in the entire game. When activated this skill forms a protective shield around you and your allies for 10 seconds and completely negates all forms of damage. You also can’t be staggered and your attacks wont be interrupted making this an incredibly useful skill to help you complete combos and deal extra damage to enemy weak points. This skill lays the foundation for this build and should also be active before attacking your foes. After some practice you’ll find it easy to seamlessly blend your shield and attacks. For my last skill slot I like to use several different options depending on the situation that I'm in. I find myself using ravinours hond the most simply because stamina is so important during difficult boss fights.
For augments I’m using polarity which augments your strength during the day and magic during the night, athleticism which reduces stamina cost when dashing, subtlety which reduces the likelihood of being targeted by foes, gratification which slightly restores health when dealing a killing blow to enemies, vigor which reduces stamina cost when clinging to foes and lastly, verve which augments your strength giving you more damage. Dominance from the warrior class would also be a really good choice since it increases your knockdown power making you more lethal against bosses. Exaltation from the mage vocation is also a great choice because it boosts your stamina recovery speed allowing you to be more efficient during combat.
For weapon choices you have several options. The strongest duospear in the game is the lindworm fang. This powerful duospear can only be purchased with wyrmslife crystals at the dragon forged NPC located at the bay wayside shrine. It is only available for purchase in new game plus which means you will need to complete the game first before you can use it. The reason this duospear is so powerful is because it increases your base damage as you continuously attack without taking damage which is made incredibly easy thanks to the mirror shelde skill which makes you invulnerable for 10 seconds.
And for the rings I’m using the ring of momentum which moderately boosts maximum stamina and the ring of aggression which boosts strength. You could also try using the ring of percipience to help boost your magik damage or even the ring of vehemence which increases your stagger and knockdown power against foes.

Dragon's Dogma 2 - S TIER Thief Build Guide! (BEST Weapons, Skills, Augments, Rings & Pawns) - ua-cam.com/video/G3ZsXNRlszs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ColdBwoyy
You can get Dead Ringer during your first fight with the dragon if you can kill it. I used the ballista to beat it, so you can start off your journey as a Mystic Spearhand with one of the best weapons in the game.
Understanding the flow of combat, you mean bubble shield 24/7?
Bubble shield squad
@@ChaoticDarshif there’s anything good about bubble shield it’s that you can wear whatever you want purely because armor won’t matter.
A lot of the time I frgt I have it 😂
@@rmgkevo4695 same especially when I’m doing something important so it fks me off even more😂😂
i dont use it, the game is too easy, and the bubble is broken, so ...forgetable. telekinesis is better.
I use the Skiedragoons Fest skill rather than Wild Furie.
Something I didn’t know until I tried it myself was that if you use Fest while near enemies, it actually directly teleports you above them- this can be used on large bosses such as Dragons, Ogres, and Griffins to immediately mount them.
Simply use Foin to reach their midsection or so- then immediately Fest while midair and 9/10 you’ll be placed on their back- then it’s as simple as using the heavy attack to stab into their back- or walking up to their head to- in some cases, instantly kill the boss.
Yes! Really great skill for getting on top of large monsters fast
Warfarer with Foin, fest, rearmament and Thief Draw and quarter. Super strong and fun build for bosses
You can get Dead Ringer if you climb the tower in Melve and kill the first dragon with the large bolt weapon. It's worth reloading until you get it. You should have added armor choices from the first play through.
For your first playthrough you’re really just buying armor from merchants. The game doesn’t really have any armor to “find” until you get to end game
I love it. I'm playing magic archer now and miss my shield. Changing back soon.
Hard to switch when you’re so used to one vocation 😂
Yesss i felt the same when switched to sorcerer...that shield really saves your butt
6:37 There's a couple ways to get dead ringer early. you can use a ballista nearby to kill that drake in melve. Or play as a thief and/or have a theif pawn with you with the plunder and bump n lift skills. You can actually steal the weapon from the drake lol
yep got mine in melve with 2 shots from the ballista
Great tip! Thanks 🙏🏻
@@ColdBwoyy killing the dragon in melve also has the added benefit of sigurd also giving you his maister skill then and there
Can’t you buy this weapon at the volcanic city?
If you use Zeal and the end game shops skill enhancement you can use wild furie 3 times in 1 stamina bar length without rests, items or spells.
Really great tip 👍 appreciate the comment
That magic blast when times correctly knocked a troll off it’s feet and into a mountain when it was off balance and knocked it down for awhile lol
Love this best class for me right now
Easily one of my favorite as well 👍
@@ColdBwoyy same because of that. I don’t need my healer to heal just buff weapons. The tank is always safe because of that shield. It’s amazing I think it’s one of the best skill for that vocation.
For those doing a pawnless run I recommend having bubble, dragons feist, stamina succ, and the Meister skill. The shield is good when dealing with multiple large prey at once. Dragon’s feist is a good counter and the shockwave knocks down the smaller monsters if you get surrounded also is a better recover skill than the shield due to I frames and zero exposure. While the stamina succ and Meister skill has great damage for large prey
Thanks, just ranking up this class for the augments to help my sorcerer solo run
What’s the meister skill and how can it be obtained?
@@blueblackskullgaming2067he means Wild Furie. U get it from Sigurd just UA-cam it 😃
@@blueblackskullgaming2067 he means Wild Furie u get from Sigurd, u can UA-cam it 😃
6:37 Just acquire the weapon early by killing the dragon when it appears in Melve.
you dont even need to kill it
@@zhikos_6441I fought the dragon but didn't get a weapon. What did I do wrong? Can I easily still get it?
@@valravnsshadow9422 were you using thief amd did you jave bump and lift also yes just abit into the game
Man I love the thief but even at level one in this your so op it’s crazy
Yeah the mirror shield is incredible!
Hear me out for a second... I like to make my Main Pawn a thief. But I also equipped him with provocation augment and ring of disfavor and formless feint so that he can draw all of the aggro but also never be hit! Killer combo, especially if you hire one or two pawn(s) with Celestial Paeaen to keep everyone's stamina topped up. Thank me later. 😏
I'm gonna try this. Sounds like a nice setup!
i did that btw the stamina management on ur pawn is insanely good, my pawn is like 5,3 and a light girl. her formless feint last longer then mine tenfold. do not mix with blades of pyre tho cause the AI doesnt take the ff to bop combo like us humans do.
@@teddybonzo8460 yeah I figured they wouldn't, hell, I find myself using Blades of pyre while forgetting to activate FF and instantly lose a massive chunk of my health. I've done it several times in the unmoored world we're losing health is even more detrimental due to the limited rests.🤦🏾♂️😑
Classic Shadow Tank 👀
I will be trying this, ty for the idea!
@@EpicGamerSetzuna You won't regret it! 🫡
Can you include where to upgrade armors for these classes videos? Please and thank you
I killed the dragon, but missed out on getting the meister gift from Sigurd. Is there anywhere else I can find him?
Some one was kind enough to donate my pawn the dead ringer spear once they were done with her in there party. Given it’s potential it seems like a weapon you wouldn’t want to get rid of
Definitely one of the best duospears in the game 👍 worth keeping for sure
Bro you deserve 1 million subscribers
Thank you so much! Hopefully one day 🙏🏻
I’m saving the best classes for last lol! The ones you done so far look cool asf
So far thief has been my favorite!
What Weapons and armor should I use if I haven’t completed the game yet and haven’t gotten access to the New Game+ items?
Whatever you can afford from the various vendors in the towns 👍
U don’t have to do new game + to get lindworm and other dragon forged items u can go into unmoored world b4 ng+ but it will eventually lead into ng+
I wish you could cancel attacks into the dragoon dive skill, it would nice to not have to rely so heavily on shield.
That’s why timing is so important can’t really spam any skills
@@ColdBwoyy it isn't though, because shield exists. There's no reason to run dive as your defensive skill over shield unless you just want things to be harder than they have to be.
Dragon Foin + Grab. Hit the drake or any monster from neck.
6:33 you can also steal this weapon, my Thief pawn stole this from the dragon in Melve
Yes that’s true!
How so you spin it in the beginning of videos cause mine wont
If there is anything in this game needs is loadouts, I'm tired of always having to switch stuff around.
I agree 100%
Great video, are we also going to get a Warfarer guide?
Yes 💪🏼
Video would have been much better if you mentioned weapons and armor in 1st play thru plus in new game plus.
You can miss this if you dont go back to melve. There is no mission taht i found that tells you to go back. So can easily be missed if you jst press on with the main quest
Yes very easy to miss unfortunately
You can also find Sigurd in Harve Village if you miss him in Melve.
You can get dead ringer first time visiting melve. Head to ballista and pew pew
Spear is absolutely busted. Here I was playing fighter, warrior, thief and bowman but the moment I use this class the others feel so weak
Wait until you get Warfarer, THAT is broken
i use the same abilities except i swapped shield for force choke and yeet lmao.
Quick question: Where would I find or buy the ring of momentum?
From the phantom oxcart quest
Duelist armor way cooler
Nice video
Thanks for watching 💪🏼
We're did you upgrade armor and weapons?
Dwarven for knockdown power 👍
I am using dead ringer and which upgrade i should go for?
You could go dwarven for more knockdown power or dragonforged for less weight
Dwarven for everything that’s not a staff lol
@@stealthninja4195literally, there's no reason to upgrade in the other styles whatsoever lol
Ring of Regeneration - it will double down on the augment that heals you on a kill. I'm running 2 strength boosts; but I had to replace the Ring of Regeneration to do so... and I'm not healing as much with just the augment. I tend to play tall and buff characters; so the stamina regen's tanked for me regardless. Also, half of the best gear is locked at NG+ and the Furies wind thing is the Meister skill. I'm waiting until at least level 100 - 150 before I try a dragon on for size (WAY too many health bars... and way too much spam magic BS) * Also really don't want to deal with Dragon rabies.
I've actually found the magic blast hard to target; and it doesn't matter whether I'm doing the basic attack version or the actual skill that you charge up. I've got Ravenous hond; but I've never been sure it does anything, and ten seconds for a shield is fuck all. [Didn't know it helped stabilize, I'm usually too busy trying NOT to get knocked around by cheap shots from behind...]
* Why the hell can't capcom just realize that you SHOULD give players elementally enchanted weapons BEFORE new game plus, for ALL weapons in the damned game. It wouldn't be that much easier; you'd still be screwed on the tic tak toe of weapon vulnerability and it doesn't negate the boon your pawn can cast on other pawns... so wtf? [I specifically hate the magic system in this game, so I never play sorcerer and only took it for a boost to Knockdown resistence - until I realized I REALLY hate that they did NOTHING to actually improve the Warrior's Speed problem, don't know why they didn't give that augment TO the warrior... it's all but useless for a sorcerer]
I figure if I stick to the game (which has all but the exact same story as DD1 : / ) long enough to GET to the Wayfarer unlock; I'll probably main Warrior with Thieve's daggers. Just to make the bastard actually be able to HIT something more often than the luckiest shot in the world... Fighter would be a better tank if they'd given it the heaviest armor and just said FUCK the shield. Half the time I don't even remember the button for it anyway... so it's basically useless. [Shield Bash is Fun though...]
Would've really liked a vocation that went unarmed. I may also try sticking to that with the warrior and see if it does alright. [Not expecting to be wowed by the damage without dual bloody knuckles...] But it's a bit disappointing how they've done stats in the game: 999 levels; and only the first 250 actually raise your stats beyond Health and Stamina. They didn't need the golden trove beetle BS - just make each level give you .10 to your carry weight. Problem solved, since they don't seem to be useable by your pawn anyway.
Wich upgrades are best for weapon?
Dwarven or dragon forged
Elven?
u can buy the dread ringer from Sara btw the cute chick whose apprentice to the dwarf
Thanks for the tip 🙏🏻
The vocation looks cool, but i don't have fun playing it
Why do people keep saying do monster culling. You can do the caged magistrate it’s easier and faster
Right? I'm 80 hours in, explored most parts of the map all the way down to excavation site, done all my sphinx and maister quests except the thieves, and I still haven't done monster culling. Nameless village is just at this weird corner that leads to nowhere else for me.
I cant get the master because i might have deleted it my first playthrough :/
Basically it's a new game plus armor guide
Armor and weapons are all purchasable from vendors during your first playthrough. Isn’t really much to it.
@@ColdBwoyyyou dont say dont tho bozo
Even with an "S tier build" for the Spearhand, the only real "S Tier" thing about them is style. Their damage is dreadful, but they still rank above Fighters and Archers for the simple fact that they can keep the party invincible indefinitely.
Also, "Redoubted" is basically how it looks. Re-doubt-ed.
damage dreadful? lmao tell me you haven't fully played mystic spearhand without telling me. What a clown
@@Demiurge13it really is though? I'm around level 40 and maxed out its vocation and I have just arrived in Battahl. Most of its skills and even augments are borderline useless (most of its weapon skills are situational). The big damage you are talking about must be from the winding cut, which is understandable but it doesnt look cool.
Damage is dreadful. I'm level 82 and my Thief, Magick Archer, and Warrior all out damage it their weapon skills aside the master skill is mid and do little damage compared to the above mentioned classes
I don’t think mystic spearhand is supposed to be a DPS Class. It’s more support than anything and is great for applying constant pressure to monsters.
@@Demiurge13 it is dreadful tho.... the good point of mystic spearhand is that its fun to play... definitely needs a buff
I get the best is in new game plus but you should have shown off the best before you get to that point bro. Some people wanna experience the game for the first time with spear hand not at the end.
I appreciate the feedback
What upgrade tree?
Dwarven for upgrades on weapons
@@ColdBwoyy is that for most classes?
Sadly u can do all this just 100 times faster with thief -_- kinda sad cuz i really like this vocation
I wonder if they’ll nerf thief
Why so less weapons and Armors? I thought there are tons of them in the game, that sucks truly.
Bubble shield is broken. You should still take damage like maybe 30%-50% so its like the bubble shield will reduce the damage to 50%-70% not negate it 100%.
Level 1 shield = Reduces damage by 50%
Level 2 shield = Reduces damage by 70%
It feels like cheating that's why I don't use it.
Ehhh who cares let us have fun and feel powerful 😎
Here's my hot take: Mystic Spearhand is so good it's actually bad. Allow me to elaborate. MS's base skills are so good that you literally don't need to use any of the actual skills, meaning, if you use Warfarer instead you gain all of the benefit without using one of your 4 skill slots. You can main MS whilst having the capabilities of three or four other vocations. That's ridiculous.
Winding cut must be the worst implemented trigger attack ever delivered in a gam I think. The speed you have to stab the button on your controller or keyboard is ridiculous. Why Capcom just did not use button long press, I will never understand.
they need to add more combos, skills, abilities and augments to each vocation... feels lacking to me....
I call BS. Go fight saurians around bakbattahl. Almost every single one of them will make your spin attack stop. This continues into the Volcanic Island. The giant dogs will also stop your spin to win attack on the regular.
Nothing will be able to touch you if you have your shield up
@@ColdBwoyy They don't touch you. They block your attack which causes you to flinch and thereby stops spin to win.
Thief is so much better. Thats really sad
Thief is the best vocation
It really depends on preference
so much skills whitout use skillslots, ... sorcerer needs a rework, i only have meteor... (oops, this is not a lifeservice game...) .. but.. ok
So basically this vid is only useful for ng+
Difficulty boss fights? Where? Definitely not in DD2 😂.
oh wow i didn't know they made a sequel to days gone...
What’s easy for some may be difficult for others
Several hours to get mystic spearhand No you can get it alot faster
yes if you can get it
the patch made it so that you get flowers not the final skill
he just say fight he looking for was not (Spearhand mastery skill )
and i looked no one wants to make dragon's dogma 2 100 % walkthrough narrator
and the there is is before the patch and latest info on how to make it work
plus the save system suck
and game character is boring and bad and like SF6 suffers form RTW
SO ones again no one will come forward to make dragon's dogma 2 100 % walkthrough with narrator (narrator telling you were every item and things and how to do it so things like this do not happened to you like the Spearhand mastery skill)
keep in mind i followed dragon's dogma 2 100 % walkthrough with narrator of Just Human to the letter and this still things went wrong
Invincibility Shield is for scrubs.
Don’t do watt I did do NOT KILL THE DRAGON IF U WONT ULTRA SKILL FROM THIS CHARACTER if u kill dragon u are done with a quest u are never going to get his ultra never ever
You need to re write this comment man I don’t know what you are saying lol are you talking about the clone skill?
Bro, the English
His alt is amazing too specially if you upgrade it for less stamina consumption cold . Nice vid he’s one my fav 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching bro 💯 have you tried the thief yet? So broken.
@@ColdBwoyy yA bro I put him on after I saw your video of him and the formless faint build lol it’s hilarious 😂. Literally unkillable and big dmg lol
