    Johnny thank you so much for this fix, I had exact same issue, replacing the diode brought my unit back to life. Quite bad design for something like this to take out a quite expensive unit after such little use. Thanks again, I wouldn't have been able to diagnose and fix this, would have been in the bin.

    Hi Jonny my bassmodule 500 started to pop every once and a while. I followed Bose instructions by moving it to different locations, plugging in different outlets, etc. None of that helped. I returned it to Bose who sent it back after four weeks claiming to have repaired it. It’s now worse than before. Would you have any idea what can be causing the popping sounds?

    • @JonnyFix
      @JonnyFix  Рік тому

      Could be interference from wireless router or something else in your area. If you have one, turn it off and see if it stops. Try another location, at a friends house etc see if it happens there.

    Would be interesting, if Bose uses a better Diode, if you use their repair Service? Do you have any Information?

    • @JonnyFix
      @JonnyFix  3 місяці тому +1

      Unsure what they use. I imagine they would only upgrade it if they agree there is a pattern failure here while under warranty otherwise it's probably original spec. Given the years they last I don't think they see a need for it but anything's possible.

    Hi! I have the same problem with my Bose bass 500 module. Total newb here. I noticed you replaced the diode from B340A to B2100. Would you recommend me doing the same? Or sticking with a new B340A diode?

      Do you know if I need to replace the same diode again?

    • @JonnyFix
      @JonnyFix  Місяць тому

      Hard to know. A should only go in one direction. Did you put it in the correct way? When testing use diode mode on multimeter and put red lead on the end without the stripe and black lead on other end, you should read about 0.3 to 0.5 volts, with the unit unplugged of course. If not, try a new diode. Otherwise you have some other fault. Check soldering and make sure it is connected well.

    Hi Jonny,
    Thank you for your video and time !
    I have this module and it suddenly stoped emitting sound.
    I followed every instruction about reseting the device without success. The bass Module cannot be detected wirelessly, it appears to be somehow detected by the soundbar when plugged with a 3.5mm jack, but even then, no sound at all. Even the powering on sound doesn't exist anymore. Any idea how to start my investigaiton ?

    • @JonnyFix
      @JonnyFix  11 місяців тому

      Not sure how you mean detected by sound bar. Does it have a light on? If no light maybe it's not even turning on so could be the problem in video. If there is a light I don't know sorry, I haven't seen this before.

      Wow sorry to hear about that. These speakers are expensive, I would have thought that if you pay premium, then that's what you get.
      I was thinking of buying one, but your post made me get cold feet.
      Did you end up resolving the issue? Was Bose taking responsibility for this?
