Oh, Geez. Do I ever. Just started yesterday when I got a Mini computer Windows 11 Pro and it was installing a 'USB Audio and HID' and didn't show my V505-H9 (HD Audio Driver for Display Audio). Did a clean install back to Windows 10 Pro and got the V505-H9 installed. You're a God send. Thanks. I'm still watching. Glad I found you. Seek and you shall find. 😁 Also. On occasion I've had a few problems with the eARc and a few others. Always managed to sort it out. But not this time. I've already ordered a new 50" TV. Real nice and not too expensive. I've had this TV for 3 years. Thanks for the info.
I had to perform a HDMI reset and it worked. Problem: Anytime between 7 - 20 minutes, our sound would cut-out for 2 - 3 seconds and had become very annoying. We have a 75" Samsung TV and a Sonos Arc + 2 subs + 2 rear speakers. I tried the settings you suggested and interesting enough, activating the eARC button (where the Sonos Arc is attached), made the problem worse. So I did a full HDMI reset as you recommend. I then turned on the Anynet+ function and the eARC setting on the TV menu. We haven't heard any cut-outs since performing the reset procedure! Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much! I spent 2 hours including a half hour with a Geek Squad tech and I couldn’t get my sound bar to work again. I lost my remote and tried to use an old remote and somehow lost my sound. Your very first advice on checking the HDMI ARC worked. It was off.
The alleged automatic upgrade function on my Apple TV has never worked. After watching this post, I checked and an upgrade was needed. The annoying audio delay has disappeared completely, thanks to your advice.
Thanks, you solved my problem. I paused a UHD movie on my panasonic uhd player, and when i came back 20mins later, no sound at all! It was driving me potty, I finally found this video, and solution 2 worked.... turn everything off + on again!
I was having an issue where the volume controls UI would pop up on the screen every minute. This started happening after I factory reset the TV (due to another reason). It was driving me crazy. I tried so many thing, but the fix was to do the HDMI refresh. THANK YOU!!!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH, Jonah!!!!! I was going crazy trying to figure out why my ARC all of the sudden stopped working. One of your solutions immediately fixed the issue (passthrough setting)
Thank you for this video! I have had a lot of issues with Earc on my Hisense TV. Yesterday the Earc stopped working as the audio output, and the TV would only stay on TV speakers. I tried everything. I came to this video and tried your solution of unplugging the power, hdmi's, and then plugging in the hdmi's and the power. This solved my problem. Thank you!
Great video, however I am returning my Bose 900 for a soundbar with HDMI pass through as I can't resolve the audio sync issue. Have gone through all these steps, appreciate the video 👍
Yep the hdmi refresh is no joke. I was getting so frustrated. I reset the soundbar and tv sound settings and unplugged the tv and soundbar. I also tried using a different hdmi cable and nothing! I was just about to factory reset the tv but didnt feel like it lmao. This works! Thank you!
When I encounter sound and sync issues I usually reboot the systems. Power on and off my routers, TV, sound-bar and all connected devices. This has worked every time in the past 10 years.
Good information but the problem I have is the the sound drops for a quick second it hard to watch anything with the sound dropping. every few minutes.
@3:20 You seem to be confusing the eARC On/Off setting for a general ARC On/Off. My soundbar does not support any of the advanced high-bandwidth audio formats where eARC would be required. The eARC settings in the TV are Off and Auto, and I've set it Off. The sound bar is OK with that.
After hours of trying to figure out my problem the HDMI refresh worked! TV detected my home theater automatically and I can control the volume using the TV remote. Thanks!
Thanks Jonah. A very helpful video. I have a CX myself and, apart from an occasional sound sync issue with my Sony amp, all connections work well. However, I’ve got one annoying regular problem that I can’t seem to resolve. If I switch the amp to the TV input so that it uses the eArc-enabled CX port, I always have to go into the tv sound settings and reset it to use the eArc sound output as, for no obvious reason, the CX has always set itself back to ‘internal speaker’ since I last used the input. It’s easy enough to switch back but annoying to have to do every time.
Kennan, I have the same issue with my soundbar connected to my Sony eARC. There is no output in the soundbar everyday on the first try. I have go back to settings n select audio to make it work. The worst part is after few hours this happens again n I have to do the process again
I've just recently re installed my home theater after 11 years😳 so this is helpful information, I'm updating my tv from 40" to 65" and my old JVC receiver as well. I'll be following your channel for more helpful information. Thx. again.
None of these worked for my TV remote issue, but this was all good to know in the future. Have a Samsung q90b, sonos Arc My solution for fixing the remote issue was going to “connected Devices” on the left side of the Home Screen. Then I went to “universal remote setup” and I selected the type of sound device that was already connected to the TV. I proceeded to follow the TV instructions from there on.
You are awesome!!!! I had a storm while I was at work and my beam wasn't connecting to my tv. I gave the good old turned my tv off for 30 seconds and turned it back on and worked instantly. Liked
Thank you so much. Had a family function today and the ARC wasn't working..now my 8 year old niece can watch Hocus Pocus 2 with Surround sound. Thank you 😊
My HDMI ARC just stopped working on my receiver. Your suggestion to do the hard HDMI reset worked.I was ready to trash my receiver and go through the expense of replacing it. Thanks for your solution. What you do here, matters!
Thanks for the video man, my sound bar stopped working this morning before leaving for work and I couldn’t figure it out, unplugging and plugging hdmi back into my sound bar would work for about a second and then silence again and Bluetooth worked fine Doing your “hdmi reset” did the job though and everything’s working again, had this setup for almost a year and zero issues until now
OH MY GOD THANK YOU! All I had needed to was unplug my 2013 Samsung HD tv. You just saved me from throwing this tv out of the second floor window of our condominium💯
Hey john! It's worked with me! Thanks a lot. I have a Samsung Series 6(4K) TV and a Yamaha RX-V683 AV receiver. I tried many ways and nothing solved. Checked firmware updates (both are updated) and nothing. I did factory reset on my TV and ARC not back. I did a HDMI refresh on TV and Still not working. My last try was on my AV hdmi refresh. Turn off power on wall and I unplugged all 3 plugs. Turned on power and plugged back one by one hdmi cable and ARC is back! Thanks buddy! This problem started after I'm back from a five day trip that I had turn off all power cables because lightning storm It's pretty common in Rio de Janeiro for this season.
Thanks so much for this video, fixed an issue I had with my TCL TV and my JBL soundbar. Turns out I had to select Auto instead of PCM in the digital audio output setting
Thanks very much for this awesome video, Recently I bought Sony X80K 75" TV and I was facing the problem - no audio from my home theatre. After watching this video my problem is resolved and I am very much happy.
Thanks Jonah, I solved the issue with my tv HDMI ARC port discontinuing to recognize my Sonos Arc. I unplug the power supplies, HDMI cable and reset the HDMI hubs on my Samsung TV.
Ive been trying to figure out how to connect my Samsung TV, Samsung Q series soundbar with my new Apple TV 4K 2022 for 2 weeks. I watched your video and I had it working great 5 minutes after. I finally have Dolby Atmos Sound! Thanks for the info!
I have a Nakamichi sound bar and LG C1 TV. That full reset you mentioned (from Nakamichi) works, but only for awhile before I have to do it all over again. I'm not really interested in having to continuously power everything off and unplug/replug all my HDMI cables every few weeks so I ditched eARC and went back to optical. It's so frustrating. I have a hard time understanding how this is still an issue with new devices.
Thank you so much. I dissconnected my HDMI, cleaned the dust and La voila! I almost return my device to the seller.... Uhhh... I was so dissapointed and now I am happy so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you... My soundbar is now working properly. I used the same HDMI cable on old device and did not clean the dust properly. Who could imagine???
Thank you very much!! My soundbar stopped connecting to my tv. The only thing that worked was your suggestion of the HDMI reset. I hope I don’t have to do this often. Brand new soundbar (Klipsch cinema 600)
Nice one! I have also a LG OLED TV, but connected to a Yamaha AVR (RX-V685). Currently all is connected to the AVR but I'll give the ARC variant a try. Sometimes switching between inputs has some hickups (f.e. no input signal at all). Maybe my LG TV can do that better... 😜 Sidenote: eARC needs compatible cables, you basically have to use HDMI 2.1 cables that can transport 40 Gbps (4K/120 and 8K/60). ✌
I have sync issues with external devices using arc. Dolby introduces audio delay that you can't correct with sync settings because you can only delay it more. I have to use DTS instead as that seems to be pretty much in sync. PCM is fine too other than being limited to stereo. And my receiver only has hdmi out so I can't go through the receiver. Seems like an issue that's never really been fixed with passthrough from external devices.
I'm having the same issue!!! Driving me crazy. Hooked my PS5 up to my LG TV. Dolby is noticeably delayed out of my sound bar. DTS is delayed but usable in cinema mode (but game mode increases the delay because the video isn't processed as much). PCM is synced up but like you said, stereo only. If I run sound and video to my soundbar from the PS5 and use HDMI passthrough to the TV, I don't get a delay. This makes me think it has something to do with the TV having to decode Bitstream audio over ARC. No clue how to save it. Was considering buying a receiver to run all AV input through the TV and soundbar separately, but it sounds like this problem might still be possible.
@@wesleycampbellcaretto6942 interesting, I run dts in game mode and it's almost perfectly in sync to my ears but that might just be you're more sensitive to sync delay. I think dts is still delayed but its hardly noticeable. I only notice it when the sound is coming out of the controller as well as tv and there's an echo effect, but it still follows the audio in a very tight gap that doesn't make it completely distracting. DTS in game mode is more than playable for me but Dolby is horrendous and unusable. But like you say PCM is perfect and bang on. This problem has existed for a number of years and it's not just LG I don't think. It's something fundamentally the TV has to do with passing the signal on like you say maybe the TV has to decode it first and then pass it on. Don't see why it should have to though but obviously I'm not an expert. Yeah the best setup you can have is av receiver that you run everything to the receiver then to your TV and just use pcm multichannel. But then it has to be modern receiver that passes through 4k and hdr etc properly. Or if you have earc supported on TV and receiver then you can have multichannel pcm over earc. But I've heard that some people are still getting sync issues with earc even. Unfortunately my receiver only supports hdmi out Arc and no hdmi inputs so its the only way I can hookup my ps5 to the receiver.
Hi I'm having the same issue and wanted to know if you fixed this? Both the tv and soundbar are Samsung (qsymphony supported) and my retailer is scheduling for a tech to come and have a look. Unfortunately I have followed the steps in this video but nothing has worked
@@500sotos Apologies for the delayed response - the tech showed up today. He saw that I was experiencing the described audio delay and was willing to replace the motherboard in the TV. After doing so, we found that it did not resolve the issue. I tried my testing device (Windows PC) on a friends setup (different 4K TV and different Dolby Atmos soundbar) and my devices were not out of sync when set to Dolby mode. The issue is definitely with either the S95B or the Q930B, or both...
@Jonah - I recently upgraded my main TV from a Sony XBR-75X940D (2016) and moved this TV to my bedroom. Downstairs it was paired with a Denon AVR-X4300H and ARC worked perfectly. However, in my bedroom I have an older Denon AVR-4311. ARC works perfectly every time I power cycle the TV and the receiver. However, if I turn off the TV and turn it back on, there is no sound from the speakers even though the TV thinks it is connected to the receiver. I have followed all troubleshooting steps and spent at least 4 hours on this. Power cycling fixes it, only till the TV is turned off again. In the Bravia Sync device list the Denon appears as “AVR-4311” but after turning the TV off and then ON, it appears as “Sound System” and there is no audio.
I wish that they would have stayed with RCA style cables or optical. Never had an issue. I tried some trouble shooting fixes. After watching your video I will try all of them. The main issue is that I lost sound while watching a movie.I tired reseting the Yamaha receiver and the roku. Did not work. After that there was no signal, no picture yet I could get some sound. Swapped cables and regained picture but no sound. The LG oled tv stated that the connection was established with the roku. My receiver indicated that the roku connection was established. Confusing😱. For now I am listening for sound at the optical line. I also noticed that on the LG tv the e-arc for HDMI 2 was missing, so where did it go? I reestablished that connection but with no results🤯.I will mess with it later and hopefully fix this issue. Thanks for the video!
Strangely, my TV remote doesn't control my JBL BAR 9.1 sound bar any longer. I have to use the sound bar remote only. When I plugged in a different TV, it worked perfectly
I have had a similar issue with an Oled TV and a dolby Atmos soundbar while using an Nvidia Shield. After trying a bunch of different cables - from cheap to expensive certified cables and using the soundbar as a passthrough but eding up with video degradation - probably because of the bad quality of the passthrough of the soundbar I couldn't get a stable signal on dolby vision. My solution was to set all my AV sync off on the TV and on the soundbar and use the audio delay function on the Nvidia shield. I am now set on +250ms on standard content and +300ms on Dolby Atmos content and that has fixed my issues as I now can use the ARC port and my picture comes straight from the shield to the TV. If you dont have a shield as your media device, and you have exhausted all the mentioned "fixed" in the video, I would start playing with the audio delay on the soundbar itself.
The OLED TV isn’t a LG, is it? I had a lot of issues with HDMI video and audio (no signal at all on a LG OLED 55 C1)and finally decided to read the manual. Buried in it was a statement that said HDMI maximum cable length was 3 meters. Mine were 10 foot. I swapped them for some cheap eBay 6 foot cables and problem solved. I still do not know why, but it was the cable length.
@@tommarbach6483 It is LG C1 but my cable is only a meter long and certified one as well so that's not the issue. I just had to fiddle with the audio Sync setting on the shield to fix it and now all is good :)
Most interesting discussion. I have a Sony TV and I have connected external speakers. The external speakers work fine for a while but now I cannot get the sound to go through those external speakers and have to revert to this internal speakers. Is this an arc issue? When I try to reconnect to the external speakers, I get a loud popping noise. The speakers that I'm using are the edifier powered speakers
I'm thinking its hdmi cec related from what you described. I have had a similar popping sound that starts only when I have my blu ray player hooked up. Currently using an hdmi cec blocker adapter on the player. The issue seems to have gone away so far...
I have a Marantz av8805a and a samsung 75" QLED with cec , I'm having issues with sound drop outs that is absolutely annoying and it only happens at night time... during the day it works perfectly no issues, at night it's possessed and sound is loss for a split second then come back on spontaneously sometimes 1 minute apart then 5 seconds apart then 10 seconds apart, I do everything you mentioned like disconnect and turn off amd unplug everything and it works perfectly for about 10 minutes and then it starts all over again, and like I said during the day absolutely works flawlessly without any issues..... I'm using Monster Power Surge protector/conditioner and a Monster Power AVS 2000 automatic Voltage Stabilizer , not sure if that makes a difference, but have been using that setup with all the existing equipment for 3 years and has been perfectly working until I started having the sound drop out issues about a month ago.... I'm lost because, like I said during the day, it works perfectly. At night, it has the issue, only at night at around 8 pm or so.... BTW love your videos. Thanks for your time....
Mine was the "it was working great, gee it quit working". I had tried few things before coming to this video. It was the unplug the power option that worked for me.
I have a HiSense U8K and a Vizio Soundbar. I don’t know if the TV hates the sound bar but it keeps shutting it off or disabling and pretending it’s not there. At this point I’ve given up on it and have switched to Optical. EARC is a neat idea but poorly implemented.
Hi I got Samsung TV and home cinema Every time I got to unplug HC from mains it's loosing connection with TV In my case resetting HC to factory settings helps Great video!
I don’t see this in your chapter titles, so I wanted to ask- the problem we’ve had since an update added “arc” to the hdmi input on our Roku tv is that the volume is significantly tempered (where we used to have the a/v receiver set at about 45-50 normally, we now have to keep the volume level at 70) on most Roku channels, and the av connected devices (ps4/Blu-ray). The notable exception is the UA-cam channel which comes in at the old volume so with the tv now set at 70, blasts way too loud. The settings didn’t change, so we can only assume that the Roku update adding ARC had something to do with it. Have you ever heard of this particular problem?
I appreciate you boss just figured out the issue when I unplugged the hdmis from the tv then unplug tv let it reset and then plug back up turn tv on and it fixed the issue 👍🏻

Oh, Geez.
Also.
It was off.
Glad it helped!
The alleged automatic upgrade function on my Apple TV has never worked. After watching this post, I checked and an upgrade was needed. The annoying audio delay has disappeared completely, thanks to your advice.
Hey..your vedio solved my problems. I should have hug you thousands time..i thought of buying new tv..but now you save my money..thanks a million
Thanks for doing this video. Sometimes it's hard to get a handshake between the TV and sound bar.
Absolutely! Hope this is helpful for anyone that’s struggling with it
@@JonahMatthes thanks for the heads up buddy
This works! Thank you!
Have this worked for me when 5 other videos did not. Specifically the pass through section. Thank you!
When I encounter sound and sync issues I usually reboot the systems. Power on and off my routers, TV, sound-bar and all connected devices. This has worked every time in the past 10 years.
Unplugging the HDMI cables finally worked, Thanks a million
Good information but the problem I have is the the sound drops for a quick second it hard to watch anything with the sound dropping. every few minutes.
Thank u very much! The reset hdmi worked. Removed all and plugged off. Waited a few minutes and as soon as turned it on all right.
I have a Sony A80J, Sonos Soundbar, and Nvidia Shield. The sound sync and volume are incredible. Very pleased with the combination.
Thx. again.
This video was a HUGE help for my Sonos Beam issues. Thanks Jonah!
None of these worked for my TV remote issue, but this was all good to know in the future.
Have a Samsung q90b, sonos Arc
My solution for fixing the remote issue was going to “connected Devices” on the left side of the Home Screen.
Thank you 😊
Never heard about the HDMI refresh. Gonna try that. Thanks.
As I reached the end point of the video, arc just started working! Thanks for that!!
My HDMI ARC just stopped working on my receiver. Your suggestion to do the hard HDMI reset worked.I was ready to trash my receiver and go through the expense of replacing it. Thanks for your solution.
What you do here, matters!
Thanks for the video man, my sound bar stopped working this morning before leaving for work and I couldn’t figure it out, unplugging and plugging hdmi back into my sound bar would work for about a second and then silence again and Bluetooth worked fine
Doing your “hdmi reset” did the job though and everything’s working again, had this setup for almost a year and zero issues until now
HDMI refresh worked for me after trying anything and everything. Thank you very much!
Great video solved my problem , kept muting whilst viewing, unplugged reset excellent. now i can view all my 3d blueray.
OH MY GOD THANK YOU! All I had needed to was unplug my 2013 Samsung HD tv. You just saved me from throwing this tv out of the second floor window of our condominium💯
Thank you, the unplugging of TV and soundbar and let it sit for 10-15 minutes worked!
This worked! I cutted the power and then on again. Thanks mate💪
As far as signal routing, do you prefer sending signal to the TV first and then the audio device or the other way around and why?
Man, my audio video equipment finally does it job! Thanks a lot man!
This video worked well man, i try everything said on this video and the best thing was dumped the tv and bar got a new ones and boom problems solved.
Thank you !!! Finally had the hdmi arc work... This content is very helpful ...god bless you
Watched a bunch of videos before this and the hard reset worked great. Thanks Jonah
Thanks for the informative video. I am a 3rd party service provider for Best Buy and run into these issues from time to time
Just did a HDMI reset. That did the trick...Thank you so much.
Thank you!!! The HDMI reset was the only thing that worked for me! Appreciate the detailed video.
Thank you so much! I have watched so many videos and couldn't find any solutions. I fixed it right off with your video.
Wondering if it's hdmi cec related. Have you kept all other devices unplugged from the tv or soundbar to see if the issue continues?
Thanks Jonah, after doing the HDMI refresh the ARC started working again after 2 frustrating days Cheers 👋👍
Switching to “pass through” worked. Thanks 🙏🏼
HDMI Connection refresh fixed the issue on my C1 - thanks so much!
Thank you very much!! My soundbar stopped connecting to my tv. The only thing that worked was your suggestion of the HDMI reset. I hope I don’t have to do this often. Brand new soundbar (Klipsch cinema 600)
5:50 This is the best placed ad ever 😉
I did all the steps, unfortunately with my problem I had to resort the last resort......it worked :), Thank you so much
Sidenote: eARC needs compatible cables, you basically have to use HDMI 2.1 cables that can transport 40 Gbps (4K/120 and 8K/60). ✌
Thanks. Great tips. Don't forget folks that when resetting the power, kill the power completely and not just turn off and on. Pull the lead out
I have sync issues with external devices using arc.
@@CJDennisT Did the tech fixed it for you?
@@500sotos Apologies for the delayed response - the tech showed up today. He saw that I was experiencing the described audio delay and was willing to replace the motherboard in the TV. After doing so, we found that it did not resolve the issue. I tried my testing device (Windows PC) on a friends setup (different 4K TV and different Dolby Atmos soundbar) and my devices were not out of sync when set to Dolby mode. The issue is definitely with either the S95B or the Q930B, or both...
unplugging the power strip works for me, so far. but I shouldn't have to do this every month! What's the underlying problem?
I have sound bar that supports ARC should I enable eARC on TV?
Thank you for your help! Wow! 4 minutes into your video and you solved my new sound bar/ tv problem. Thanks you again!
The HDMI reset worked!!!! Thank you !!!!
It was the PCM setting for me. Thank you that was driving me nuts
You helped me fix it. Thank you!!!!!!! Changing it to passthrough was the solution for me
❤ unplugging components for 5 minutes was the magic solution in my case. Thanks for sharing this video. Extremely helpful.
Thank you!! Fixed my issue where i had no sound coming through my bose soundbar
Hi I got Samsung TV and home cinema
Every time I got to unplug HC from mains it's loosing connection with TV
In my case resetting HC to factory settings helps
Great video!
I’m having this issue at the moment. On the same volume level hdmi mode is quiet whereas Bluetooth is twice as loud on the same level
I was having trouble with audio. I touched the hdmi cable on the TV and receiver and that fixed the problem.
I appreciate you boss just figured out the issue when I unplugged the hdmis from the tv then unplug tv let it reset and then plug back up turn tv on and it fixed the issue 👍🏻
Thank you. The HDMI refresh worked like a charm!!!
