yup, can confirm. just got mine to work with the jaycar 100V 3A diodes. bit bigger and they're not the same casing but you can make it work. i believe these FR diodes get a bit hotter than the B2100 so just make sure you leave the diode with plenty surface area to dissipate the heat.
Did the same, and it works just fine. So disappointed with Bose that a small component is so unreliable. Bose quoted $200 to fix it while the component cost 0.50c
Amazing and thank you so much. Your solution has fixed mine too. Diodes from China on eBay- I ended up receiving 50 by mistake so plenty of room for errors, but did it with the first one. Used a pointed scalpel to remove the glue- cut down vertically in the shape you want to remove then just lever up the glue. Worked a treat. I'm sure people know this, but for soldering, hold the diode upside down very gently in some small grips and dot solder on both the terminals. Hold it with tweezers in position and just apply heat on each connection until the solder melts and sinks down- be patient. Hold it in place until the solder cools then do the other side. The line on the diode goes to the left- hard to see on the original. Thanks again and much appreciated.

Comment: for the price of this equipment, it's incredible that the components of the subwoofer can just fail like this... Thanks in advance for your help!
Its almost certainly going to be that problem. It's such a cheap and relatively easy method to replace the chip so you've really got nothing to loose. Obviously I cannot say for certain that it is your problem but a lot of people have had this issue resolved with the method in the video.

I have had mine for not even 2 months i got it DEC 2021. The BASS module comes on, has the white light on, and is connected to the 700 soundbar and shows up on the app as connected. It just doesn't play any sound out of it at all. I don't know if this is the same issue or another one but its frustrating having something so expensive not work after such a short period of time.
Yours is a different issue. In my issue the power wouldn't do into the circuits and the led did not go on. Don't know how to fix your problem, but maybe on the remote press "bass" then volume up. That controls the woofer volume independently of the sound bar volume.

I have the exact same issue. Replaced diode but no light until i plug in an aux/jack cable into the ‘acoustimass in’ port. Then a solid amber light appears, but unable to link to the soundbar nor sound can be heard. Pls help!
I’m not an electronic expert, but my bass 500 Bose module stopped working for me. 😢. People on utube showed me the fuse , but I still couldn’t get it off. Any advice why my 500 Bose sub not receiving power?
Can you give me advice my bose bass module 700 got wet. My basement flooded half inch of water so the cord and the base got wet and its not working anymore. Is there anyway i can save it?
The faulty diode looked fine on the outside. You might be able to test it with a multimeter but if your speaker isn't turning on its probably that diode being faulty anyway.
Great Vid. I have the same Problem. But which diode can i Use ? I find DO-214 AC in 40 V and 60 V and 100 V. Which one i have to bye ? Sorry for my English
How did you find out which part was broken? My bose speaker goes on and off again hasnt lost power completely but i wouldnt know if its the same part or a different one?
I found out by digging around the internet for what fails on them. Your problem might not be the same as mine just didn't turn on one day. But for the cheap cost of the chip, might be best to just try it.
I was hoping someone could assist me, there are two larger (2512 size) surface mount resistors on the bottom of the board when you first remove the cover. One is marked 7R5 the other is mounted with provision for another beside it. Could someone please tell me the value of the other resistor please?
Hi Sir I have same issue, manage to disamble the unit but can’t see any damage to the chip, just a silly question can we physically able to see the damage and is it 100% this chip to replace not any other. Kind regards
You cannot physically see the damage to the chip. It's a common fault with this model and literally hundreds of people have swapped that chip out with a new one and got the speaker powering up and working again
You are my hero 😎 thank you for sharing this video. I had the same problem like you and I am very happy to solve it. Thank you very much and best regards from Germany 😉
nice job. i have bose acoustimass 10 series iv subwoofer. all other channels working good. but subwoofer sound is not normal. working but very low sound and not pure bass. very week bass coming. how can i fix?

Thanks to your kindness.
Hi! I have bose 300 soundtouch bar and subwoofer it can connect only by Bluetooth but I have issues connecting to t.v.
I’m not an electronic expert, but my bass 500 Bose module stopped working for me. 😢. People on utube showed me the fuse , but I still couldn’t get it off. Any advice why my 500 Bose sub not receiving power?
Not a fuse problem in my video. It's a chip that needs to be desoldered from the board and a new one soldiered back on.
Will this fix one that isn’t connecting the speaking? Mine is showing amber then white and red lights. Won’t connect
No, this just fixes the sub woofer if it is not turning on. The subwoofer has a light on it to see if it turns on.
Can you give me advice my bose bass module 700 got wet. My basement flooded half inch of water so the cord and the base got wet and its not working anymore. Is there anyway i can save it?
Probably a gonner if it was powered and got wet.
Hello, great video, physically did the out of service diode look burnt?
I have the exact same problem but the J401 diode looks ok
The faulty diode looked fine on the outside. You might be able to test it with a multimeter but if your speaker isn't turning on its probably that diode being faulty anyway.
I gave mine to a local repairer and he's struggling at the moment. Is there an away I could buy a new board and if yes, where? I need help.
Not sure, but perhaps someone else is selling a broken one cheaply near you.
Great Vid. I have the same Problem.
But which diode can i Use ?
I find DO-214 AC in 40 V and 60 V and 100 V. Which one i have to bye ?
Sorry for my English
100V 2Ah schottky smd
How did you find out which part was broken? My bose speaker goes on and off again hasnt lost power completely but i wouldnt know if its the same part or a different one?
I found out by digging around the internet for what fails on them. Your problem might not be the same as mine just didn't turn on one day. But for the cheap cost of the chip, might be best to just try it.
@@outie555two Thank You
I wonder if that's why this bose sound touch 300 dosent want to turn on
I was hoping someone could assist me, there are two larger (2512 size) surface mount resistors on the bottom of the board when you first remove the cover. One is marked 7R5 the other is mounted with provision for another beside it. Could someone please tell me the value of the other resistor please?
como encontraste la falla sin tester??
Thanks for posting, worked a treat👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Another one saved from the dump
My Acoustimass 300 flashes pulsating white and orange. get no sound out ! What could it be ? defective circuit board ?
Not the same issue that's fixed in this video. Without knowing what the solution is, maybe it just needs to be re synchronised to the base unit?
What is the price of this chip u installed plz
Hi Sir
I have same issue, manage to disamble the unit but can’t see any damage to the chip, just a silly question can we physically able to see the damage and is it 100% this chip to replace not any other. Kind regards
You cannot physically see the damage to the chip. It's a common fault with this model and literally hundreds of people have swapped that chip out with a new one and got the speaker powering up and working again
I have this sub woofer and it makes these scratchy sounds and and doesn’t work. Do you think it’s the same problem?
I never experienced those symptoms, it just didn't turn on one day.
Thank you very much ♥️ the sub is fixed. Awesome!!!!
Thanks for the video, now I know that I won't be able to fix it myself 😂
Any time! But you'll never know unless you give it a go. I believe in you :)
Perfekt. It worked for me! Thank you very much 😅
Would a fr309 1300v 3a work?
Thank you so much! Worked perfectly for me! :)
On the remote, press bass, the volume up.
@@outie555two it’s circuit board problem. I tried all other ways.
Great Video, but why on earth do you guys put hot glue back on the component ? For what reason ?!??
Assuming that the bass can make the chips walk, so reapplying what the manufacturer did in the beginning.
@@outie555two they mostly do that because of the soldering process, not because of vibrations !
Worked for me too, thanks for posting!
Thank you for a great and useful video
Does this fix a bose lifestyle 600/650 too?
If it's got the same woofer then probably would. They sell the same woofer but with different sound bars then call the package a different number, but is likely to have the same internal parts.
hola mi subwoofer bose 700 también se daño, se escucha bajito o emite sonido débil sabes que puedo hacer ?
Turn the volume up by pressing on the remote bass, then volume up buttons.
Thank you so much for this video, it worked perfectly
It's all about the bass 😅
Is this for the acoustimass 300 model? If not is the part number for the diode still a suitable replacement for the 300 model?
Not 100% sure but if your speaker looks the same and has the same "won't power on" issue, I reckon it will be exactly the same inside.
So our one is the 300 as it comes with the 300 soundbar. So sounds like it's the same model as what you have.
1:02 you can see the label of the modul. it´s the acustimass 300
