Disclamer:
Martial Arts, like any sport, involve a potential risk for serious injury. The techniques used in our videos are being demonstrated by martial art professionals. Anyone, who attempts to try these techniques, under supervision or not, assumes all risks. LSDA shall not be held liable to anyone for any injuries caused or sustained by attempting any techniques in these videos. Remember to always train safely. Train on mats or a soft surface, never train with a live blade and always properly warm up. Always look after your training partner, they are your best opportunity to learn!
The grab attacks in Aikido come from the knife attacks, where your opponent would try to grab the knife hand, and you would need to counter attack that grab. But , as I said, the techniques used against grabs are the same as against strikes and punches, if you are trained correctly.
Also don't forget that the typical Aikido grabs are highly unrealistic in a real life situation, but that they are meant to practice the technique that you will use against punches and strikes. This is more evident in Aikikai
Thank you 🙏
Shihonage is identical to Pi Quan from the Chinese martial art Xingyiquan. A very common martial art in Northern China where Ueshiba spent nearly a decade during the Japanese military occupation. Tsuiki is called Beng Chuan in Xingyiquan. These are the two primary strikes in both Xingyiquan and in Aikido.
Thank you very much 🙏
Do people really fight like that? Yes, even in the most popular sports fights like UFC Conor McGregor ALWAYS puts his arm straight out to feel the opponent out for distance or even attacking just like in Aikido but people are too ignorant and or hypocritical to admit or realize this! People also hammer fist, usually to hit the back are when stopping a grapplers take down! Does Aikido work in a “real” fight or even MMA sport type setting(which isn’t real fighting) YES 100% absolutely; especially if the practitioner is internally trained as I believe Aikido is an internal art like Tai Chi is supposed to be! Aikido like other internal styles is soo efficient and effective it can work even without knowing the internal aspect, like alot of Wing Chun or other martial artists who know the mechanics well but don’t make the effort for whatever reason to learn the internal aspects which make it truly phenomenal and seem fake to anyone who doesn’t feel it themselves. 😳🤦🏻♂️🙄/👌✌️🤲☝️🤔
Thank you we will be exploring exactly this in our next videos 🙏😊
You mean why is akido is totally useless 😂
Aikido isn’t useless people just don’t understand it and it’s very easy to talk badly about something they don’t understand..
in your hands, everything is useless
