      @Cholesterol-w1j lol, if the truth is what makes a liberal, I could qualify, but in reality, all political parties are shite. I don't knowingly participate or favor any of them. I just point out fallacies in both arguments. I don't like the liberal or consecutive goons you guys are trying to shove up the ass of the USA. You are apparently enamored by trump, I find him incapable of performing the job of president as much as that opposing chuck running for your opposition. That said, Mr. Segal is a fake actor trying to ( for some reason) act like he is another Bruce Lee. Which of course he never could be. And he has the attributes of trump to boot. You can argue and defend Segal till you are blue on the face. It won't change facts. He is spite for a martial artist, and I use that term loosely here, and shite for his poor acting So there, suck on that lollipop for a while.

      Agreeed someone must lose. However, these types of videos and this general topic among martial artists baffles me. As a BB myself, I can't understand how other 'skilled' martial artists are training for 'street fights'. Meaning, are these folks hanging out in seedy places or are they defining all encounters as 'street fights' vs "random acts of violence". (e.g. getting attacked in a garage, purse snatched, etc.). The two scenarios are very different. What is your take?

    • @LondonSelfDefenceAcademy
      @LondonSelfDefenceAcademy Місяць тому

      @@chx5088 totally agreed thank you for this comment we are self defence school and our purpose is to elaborate on these topics for beginners and people who never did any martial arts and are the ones usually targeted on the streets. The world is generally becoming more and more unsafe and even if someone at some point watched our video where we say “the best self defence move is to run away” it served its purpose. No trained martial artist will search to prove themselves on the street because they know that they can really hurt someone and that someone can really hurt them.

    I was gonna say it's aikido, bit no, you're right, these are Steven Segal techniques. Segal never trained under Morihei, he trained under his son (I trained with two Ruddock and Koto who trained under Ueshiba and they never saw him in classes during this period. Anyway, I think many people not understanding the body dynamics of Aikido. They just see limbs, and not the centre.

      @LondonSelfDefenceAcademy 2 місяці тому

      Thank you for your comment. You are right plus there are so many sub groups nowadays that some aikido looks like Rex quondo. Totally away from the fundamental understanding why aikido was developed and what it actually is. Not knowing the founder’s story and the totally forgetting the spiritual aspect of aikido also universal geometry etc… I don’t want to go into too much detail however we will be exploring these here at some point. Any inputs or suggestions are welcome. Thanks again and please stay tuned for more videos 🙏

  • @michaelstokes6048

    Great ikyo explanation. In my experience with pressure testing, you can go straight into Ikyo without needing to do the Utemi to the face from a straight punch because the attacker's arm retraction actually helps the technique. I found with testing that after the initial deflection, the attackers arm retraction more or less presents the elbow to you which you can then use to nail Ikyo.

    • @LondonSelfDefenceAcademy
      @LondonSelfDefenceAcademy 2 місяці тому

      Yes of course whatever works for you best there is no right or wrong when it comes to real application. I prefer the Atemi, because if someone is throwing jab and cross without it there is a chance that the cross can connect which then to take changes the dynamics. It will also depend of the attacker is static or moving. There are so many angles and ways but in general whatever works for the individual is the best. Thank you for your comment. 🙏😊

    • @michaelstokes6048
      @michaelstokes6048 Місяць тому

      @@LondonSelfDefenceAcademy I agree. In a real situation I would include the Utemi definitely. Just wanted to add that it is possible to go straight for elbow control without it, but of course everything ultimately depends on your skill and the skill of your attacker. Love the videos. Subscribed! :)

    Thanks for the video. but I wonder what style of aikido you practiced because I didn´t learn ¨hiji-shime¨ or ¨rokkyō ¨ neither at aikikai or Shodokan.Who¨s crazy enough to attack such a big bloke like you, Ondreas!!! lol

      Hahaha I am not that big, my arms are only 45 cm in diameter 🤣🤣🤣 Our style originates from Zanshin Ryu and is based on the teachings of Master Pat Stratford.

      @@LondonSelfDefenceAcademy : Thanks for the response. You're big enough for me not to attack you!! lol Thanks for explaining your style. What I learned close to rokkyō is ¨waki-gatame¨ in shodokan aikido, but I think it´s a judo technique, which is forbidden due to being dangerous. I just passed to level 7 in shodokan aikido and have a black belt from aikikai. Let's keep on practicing hard!!!
