Watching you struggle to get to it as I look at mine from the driver's seat of my Astro wishing I had that kinda room to do plugs..
What would happen if I just took the whole intake and the carb off and just went back with a normal intake and 4bbl carb. The only things that are going to change is the IAC and TPS. But that's just more junk to go wrong. I'm not worried about the engine light. That bulb is coming out soon 🙂
I wouldn’t take the bulb out lol how are you gonna fixs the truck if it’s having running issues need the light to get the other codes to fix’s the problem!
Well got my butt off the couch to clean the bbq. Took the failing egr that had a shy wiggle if you moved with the hand. Cut the sucker from the mid nut off. Cleaned, sanded Welded the top hole, and both bottom holes. Stuck her back on. Fired it up...man shes got fire! No hesitate like before. 👌my dually is 😊 hapaaeee! It proved helpful!

I have a 1998 k2500 and i think it may throw the light if i disconnect the plug so im blocking it off to see what happens a different way . it has the tube coming off the manifold up to the intake .
I just cut it off and took out both fittings and welded them shut im leaving the unit plugged in just blocking the exhaust to it and making sure it doesnt have a vacuum leak . I just did new intake gaskets and spider injection too
How did this hold up? I have a 96 vortec 350 and was curious of the same thing

I got the same effect just by unplugging the power connection for the EGR vacuum solenoid
Make sure shift into D and rolling least 5 MPH to cause CEL come on.
For some reason CEL won't show up at all while parked especially mess around with removed fuses. That was my experience
Are you able to just unplug that ? I thought the engine would need it to run 😂
@@Ricky-manic my truck has been running just fine since I unplugged it no problems. What it does is help the fuel economy. But I can't see the difference
Really want to do this with my 95 . The exhaust is straight and dumps just past the cab. So it's not doing much if anything. Whatcha think?

I'm thinking of egr deleting my Pontiac its a 93 but I hope I don't have a check engine light on cause my car has a obd1
What about gas mileage, low end torque. Seriously thinkimg about deleting mine on my 92. It gets the hiccups on hill climbs due to it more than likely being plugged up.
I haven't had any issues every now and then check engine light come on if it cool outside at night but after restart it goes away. The engine runs cooler. Better in my opinion.

What did you do with all the plugs that went into the EGR system?

Sounds like a classic chevy cold knock to me, give it a few minutes she will sound good
Did you remove the purge valve
Video shows nothing useful and no narration.
So there is small vacuum line that goes to possibly a purge valve what do you do with that I have the plate but just not sure

what's the red thick gauge wire on Alternator? Ground or Positive?
Red always means hot.
@@DrivenbyGears i've got the same alternator on mine, but for some reason the brand new one after a week or so it wasn't grounding anymore. went got a warranty replacement and it's running fine. does yours have a ground from alternator to body or does alternator mount studs act as ground? Sorry i'm new to this engine.
@@FiliAinuu mine didnt and at first i went through like 3 alternators was pathetic i ended up changing that one filed wire that connects to it end terminal you can buy at the parts store and it fixed my issues but i had no ground anywhere i added one from the bolt to the frame trying to add more grounds since i added a amp.
@@DrivenbyGears i just did the same just now, i used bolt slot in back of alternator for alt ground to truck frame. hopefully no more shorting out alternator. thanks a lot for the help.
I cannot find the delete plate for a 1995 GM 350 sbc!? the 95 seems to be a stand alone...can you make a recommendation where to locate one? Thanks!
Take a peace of pop can and make a gasket or some thing to block it off might help ya
Couldn’t I just plug the vacuum lines and unplug the sensor thing that the air line from the egr plugs into?
My hose kept blowing off years ago and black smoke would come out the exhaust until I put the hose back on 🤔

Removed the valve plug is just in engine bay.

What did you do with the vacuum line? This is not a very good video. Doesn't show anything.
Remove the valve, lines, and cap left over ports.
Got a question if I delete egr will I still get a check engine light?
I didn't but every now and then on a cool day it will come on. And go off the next crank.
@@DrivenbyGearsim curious into the ses when it was on, did it retard the system into a rich or lean af mode? And do you leave the back port on the tbi open or did you cap it off with a plug and did you leave the solenoid connected or did you disconnect it too?? Im about 2 seconds to go out. Pull, grind off the top, weld the holes an make my own make shift delete with the egr.

I'm really debating on doing this with my 95, I've swapped out the EGR valve twice same with selonoid and all good vacuum lines and new intake gaskets I still get a check engine light code 32 when I'm cruising 90km on circle drive and it's driving me crazy all out of ideas and hate when it does that because the light stays on untill it's turned off and reseted and it idles not well and hasitates 🙄
So did you delete it or not?

Look for a vacuum leak
Just clear the light with a scan tool if it throws a light
You will be resetting hit all the time then
