@@glitzon988 What do you mean? I understand this person was trying to make a joke, but the 'dad' (fifth scale degree) usually resolves tension in a progression
If you need to know ----- a major chord is formed by taking any note (the root of the chord, which gives the chord its name), go up 4 half-steps (a half step is the very next note, white or black). The note you land on is the "third" of the chord. Then, from that note (the third) go up 3 half steps (the note you land on is called the "fifth" of the chord). The root, the third, and the fifth makes up your major chord. Major chords sound "happy." For a minor chord, you start with the root, go up 3 half steps to the third, then 4 half steps from the third to the fifth. No matter how you flip the three notes of a chord around (called inversions), it is still the same chord, with the same exact name. Inversions is a whole different lesson, but this will give you the idea of how to build chords.

Meijin Kino ha, I am at my piano right now, trying to play Handel’s Largo without looking at the keys!😅
Good thing mom has an apron, was worried she’d be busy playing piano instead of cooking us strong men a meal to eat!
According to this theory, the mother cannot walk the dog, unless afterwards she goes to talk to her son and the dog meets God.
hahahahaha omg, i died.
Yes
I can confirm these series of events to be canon to the story
I'm not too cleaver please spell that chord progression for me... Is it IV, vii, vii°, I ?
@@christophermoody6840 it is the tritone resolution :)
I can't believe they made conservative music theory 😭😭😭
it's also true in nature that the male dominates the female though it's not just conservative values
The fastest way to learn something new is to associate with ideas you already know. Some of comments are pretty funny, but truthfully I learned quicker from this video than any others I have watched on the topic. The pictures really helped with the association of the chords and the naming of the chords. I have played piano and read music for many years but was never taught theory, which I am just not doing. Thank you for the video.
C scale has all the types of chords. major, minor and diminished. As you said each note has its family of chords…very pleasing explanation. Thank you will look to the other videos…excellent teacher.❤
that was by far, the best explanation for the relationships between the notes in the chord.. thank you
Why is there patriarchy in my wholesome piano lesson
Thank you Jesus Christ for this amazing woman teaching and proving that music is designed to give God all the Glory
Now I’m not a religious man, but the way you applied this helped me a lot .
Yeah I’d just stick with the theory and skip the superstition LOL
@@AntechamberAEUnnecessary comment man. Why always disrespect people?
@@munashemanamike4217 My distain comes from my years of research studying the failures of religion and the vastly negative effect its' had on society.
So sad that the best lectures don't get enough views. This is the best explanation yet!
Major chrods:
1,4,5.
Mnenomics: 1+4=5
Minor chords:
2,3,6.
Mnenomics: 2×3=6
I also imagine "Here comes the bride.." (1,4 or C,F) with the groom at her RIGHT (5 or G).
It's cool that we musicians can share our professional experience via UA-cam! I'm so happy I am not alone. Viva la Musica!
Praise God! Excellent work. Keep upload more videos. God bless your work
Good metaphor. Though for me, I prefer to change the tonic chord to "Home". Can you do the similar explanation for minor key?
I'd also call the 'chord 5' the 'turnaround' chord. As soon as I identify 'Chord 1' when listening to a new song, my first guess for predicting a related chord is usually 'chord 4'. Thank you for this video! Excellent, and I love the Christian faith/family reference!
I like how u teach makes me understand it better and I like how relax u teach most youtubers seems like their always running, when speaking. Makes my mind tired :)
What a surprisingly pleasant video explaining the chord relationships and very well explained, I as a beginner have searched for this type of explanation and after this video I applied the concept to a few keys and have suddenly been able to make my musical improvisation sound reasonably coherent.
Many thanks
This was a very genius way to explain it, thank you so much for the explanation, since music has been always abstract thing for me to understand, and you made it reachable for people like me, with difficulties for learning. Bless you.
Oh my. The dog is playing the Devil's chord! How did that blasphemered chord get past my family-friendly proxy server? Please bleep out those tritone chords. I feel all dirty inside when I hear them.
*Bach has joined the chat*
But he’s a cute lil devil
This is so good. What a creative and memorable description. Perfect…..
"dominant and sub dominant" Lol trying to trigger feminists I see
I'm triggered. lol. jk jk I thought the same too
🤮 Praise Satan and stuff that mom had real strength and dominance. She cleans and works hard. That dad clearly has too much free time to bodybuild between cheating on his beautiful hardworking wife. 😋 Show muscle is cute dad, but she's definitely stronger. *Side note, The gay son was super cute also. Can't wait to see what he brings to the family as he grows into adult hood.
feminists can be triggered by even a fart
@@pi3tr3 yeah.... lool thats true
that is what they are called, it has nothing to do with anything but music.
Great great great video.. God bless you lady.. Great inspiration.. May Lord Jesus Christ bless you.. Thanks for such a wonderful correlation with family.. Family according to God's plan.. The father wants to run to the Lord.. For resolution.. Awesome..
I've been playing the piano/keyboards for more than 20 yrs and this is the first time I saw how chords are beautifully explained, relating to family and most of all, God. Thank you for this wonderful video.
minor 4th should be the step momma. also creates tension, but still resolves nicely to the tonic. but has a bittersweet feeling to it
Omg … u have a talent in simplifying complex topics. This s very useful
This is so perfectly explained! Just loved it. Could u also make a similar video on minor keys please ?? That'd be really helpful.
Put 6 and 7 chord of Major in the begin and you will have minor ;)
Minor chord is 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 of Major
@@SlavaChromewould the "5" of a minor (from the perspective of e.g D minor being the tonic) still be a dominant? Or should it always be starting from the tonic as a major?
@@josephrichards7624 Yeah, i also would love to know that!
An awful lot of people seem put off because a video from "Worship Music Lessons" referenced traditional Christian values to explain musical concepts.
You were not tricked.
Leo Smith this video has the same issue as my religious private school did which is bring religion into EVERYTHING
??? I thought this was referencing bdsm culture... but hey, what do I know anyway?
The whole channel is teaching music theory to christian people that work in the church's music department playing worship music. It's the whole point of what she's teaching.
Really good job. You broke complicated music theory down into some understandable and relatable terms while staying memorable.
This is hands-down the BEST visual explanation of chords that I have ever seen.
i just love the way you taught this..i must confess you are a great singer as you are a great teacher.. You are the best!!!!.. thousand blessings to you
God bless you and you’re blessed you with the talent of teaching. That’s the best explanation of chord family that I’ve heard. Thank you for the video
Steven C Highley people are learning from it. That’s all that matters.
lol, I think the deception in the star spangled banner is "the land of the free" not the 6m chord
I see what you did there ...😏🤣
Also I think the cadence there would be Ab, Bb, C
Hear, Hear!
Lol. Oh my goodness you people are funny!🤣
Fola the ProVerbalizer Lol
I can see why all the children are depressed.
In the comment section?
I can see why they are depressed too. Most of them don't have God's leadership in their lives.
@@arthouston7361 To which God would you be referring? Ra? Zeus? Allah? Xochipilli? Cernunnos? I mean, throughout history there have been somewhere between 8,000 to 12,000 Gods worshipped at some point. This wouldn't happen to be the contemporary Judeo-Christian God would it? That one who sent those bears to maul those 42 kids to death (4 Kings 2:23-24)? Isn't it lucky that this God is the right one.
@@ihateunicorns867 Ah...a not so smart guy. This is my surprised face.
Art Houston I didn’t know we knew each other.
This was an excellent presentation. I'm trying to learn some Music & learn to play a Pedal Steel Guitar. I played an Organ, as a kid, & learned to read music. Now I need that basic Music theory, to try understanding where I might want to go as a lead player or where I must go as an accompaniment. I'll be back.... lots of times....
Wow. She is taking about real family that lives by word of God. Awesome
I'm looking at this and have been playing over 40 years. I love your explanation.
Super simple explained.... I loved it
Really, practically good, and great order... its good when God's order is in the house! Harmony 🎵🎶🎼🎵🎹Thanks 💯
Now I know why gramps was so grumpy...he's not in the scale while the dog's shown.
This is interesting never learned about them as "families" but really funny and cool way to show it haha!
I lovvvvvvvvved this video. I have a big family so this is so easy to get. Those personalities were spot on (all those little trouble makers). My parents had 9 of us so 3 was easy. Thank you so much.
Well this helped me a lot! Thanks for breaking it down in a way that makes sense..
