Excellent lesson! My wife likes to make up songs, and when she gets to the final V7, she stops and walks away just to mess w me. And I'm like "resolve it! RESOLVE!!!" 😂
That’s called spousal abuse! 😂 I remember in college our music professor told us someone did that to either Bach or Beethoven after they went to bed, and the composer was so rattled he had to get up out of bed, go to the piano, and hit that final tonic!
JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and is The TRUE LIVING GOD. In a prayer repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. Have FAITH in CHRIST. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and turn away from all wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK SOON.

I never hear people talk about the functions of individual chord tones in a larger context like this! This is a great way for newcomers to learn but also for existing musician to fill the gaps left behind by too many teachers.
Finally for goodness sakes FINALLY someone explains this in ENGLISH not music terms and extremely confusing analogies with 7 different variants of the same chord. Thank you for keeping in simple and literally ON POINT.

Great video. All I can think of: tell me I don’t know music theory at all without telling me I totally clueless. I think I need more knowledge before I can understand this. I’ll be back
Best music theory lesson I've ever had. Very simply done and extremely clear. If I would have had this kind of instruction in music school, my entire life may have been different. Wow! Great job brother. I will explore your entire channel. I have be searching and longing to find and understand chord progression theory. Thanks

Oh My Goodness after 50 years and countless music lessons and online courses, I finally understand the circle of 5ths. I just couldn't get it until now. You're a master teacher. Kudos!
I really appreciate the form(at) you created here. I've been over this material (40yo gigging drummer who plays keyboard+guitar for fun) but this made it much more clear and intuitive. It's interesting how we instinctively use these tactics when we speak in any language. Resolutions, tendency notes, anticipation galore, heh. Thanks for making!
Very nice vid! Also - as Bruce says --- 'emotional content'! On a serious note. This is right up there with one of the best vids I have ever seen. This is extremely useful material. Thanks very much.
I really like the way you presented this. I learned things that had always been a bit fuzzy - and you cleared away the fog. I felt I just had to subscribe. Nice job!
Your nice presentation makes sense to me, but as a total beginner trying to learn chords, my brain went a little nuts about half way through with all that I do not know. I appreciate your efforts and will continue with your channel.
I’d start off with learning your major and minor triad chords. Very simple foundational chords that will serve as building blocks for your journey. Happy learning 🙏🏻
Hi Alain, thanks a lot for the video, I liked it very much and would ask you for a lesson about tritones. Amazing the channel! I wish you all the best!
Excellent video. Your teaching style is perfect for how I learn. Thank you for going step by step in detail. Peace and blessings to you and your family.
I bought a guitar to learn on, and now have to figure out what strings to get. Are nylon strings easier to learn on and press? I am an old grandma just beginning. hahahaha
It depends on whether you bought a steel string folk type guitar or a real CLASSICAL guitar. If you bought a folk type guitar, stick with steel string, but use LIGHT gauge steel strings. After playing awhile, you’ll develop calluses and be more comfortable. If you bought a classical style guitar, use MEDIUM gauge CLASSICAL strings. They are easy on the fingers. Good luck and be patient. If possible, find a good teacher. I’ve played for 60 of my 80 years and continue to play about an hour or more a day!!
Thanks for the super thanks! I agree 100%. Understanding the real-life application of the concepts are sooooo important. Without that, it just becomes stored information that you never truly use.
So glad I came across your video. I love the format, and appreciate your clarity and on-screen visuals. You’re demystifying a lot of this theory for me! Subscribed. Looking forward to watching more.
