@@ruslanshadaev2293 because she taught as if the only ways to have a chord progression is through 5-1 perfect cadences within their respective intervals, how she said G has to go to C, C has to go to F, F has to go to B flat, etc etc. These can be useful for the ends of a phrase and for modulations, but if you ONLY use them like how she says in the video then you lock yourself into a cycle of 5ths chord progression which you definitely don’t want. In reality, you can go from any chord you can think of to any other chord you can think of as long as you know how to do it tastefully. Some of the best music of all time has the weirdest chord progressions but the harmony all ties it together and makes it sound perfect. Thank you. I thought i was going crazy when NONE of the songs i was playing followed these rules?? 🙈 I'm guessing this video is just a basic. . . This is a simple and effective way to arrange chords that are pleasing to the ear? Or does her method work most of the time? I'm still a bit confused. I play by ear and can play quite well. However this is me at the age of 34 JUST trying to learn some basic theory and my head is exploding. Any advice? 💙🏴

I remember taking guitar lessons at a mall music shop and the guy just spent time making me memorize tab for a song...if he had taught me this it would have made me realize music isnt some secret magic for special people but there are ways to unlock all the mystery.
Teaching this lesson to people to learn a song is a DAMN TERRIBLE IDEA. I get why the notes make up a chord, ie C G F by always looking to the left the note and then the right. That is simple enough but adding 2 or 4 or 6 etc is a mess. The best way is to use the 1 3 5, or 1 4 5, method. The lesson on the minors is illogical, not LOGICAL. Teachers always go too fast and bore the hell out of the majority of the class, always responding to the big mouths who get the answers right thinking the class knows it. They do not and that defeats the purpose of the lesson.
Excellent lesson! I'm glad she mentioned about the patterns repeating until the bridge. This explains why I was confused when a piece would go completely off the predicted next chord. Thanks Mrs. Ramirez!!

I played all my chords naturally because my teacher drills the chord into me, so usually, I will play the chords required by heart. c. V is Dominant(D) => 3, 7
3. let's sum up. we can go to
a. 1 to T(1, 3, 6), 1 to S(4, 2), 1 to D(5, 3, 7)
b. 4 to T(1, 3, 6), 4 to S(4, 2), 4 to D(5, 3, 7)
c. 5 to T(1, 3, 6), 5 to S(4, 2), 5 to D(5, 3, 7)
if I choose 1-4-5-1 = T-S-D-T,
we can change to,
T(1, 3, 6) to S(2, 4) to D(3, 5, 7) to T(1, 3, 6)
- 1453, 1456
- 1251, 1253, 1256
- 6451, 6453, 6456
and so on...
this is basic of basic.
you can use modal interchange and secondary dominant techniques.
i have read theory too, when i started out, if i had someone explain this to me in this way, i would have loved it. Great effort by the lady.
Hv u any recommendations where I can learn properly music theory
Want to be composer.
In logic prox... And on my guitar
@@Manishsingh-yn6it I heard that Andrew Furmanczyk's channel was pretty good to learn music theory
Never tried it but you can give it a shot ;)
So any chord followed by any chord???????
Thank you. I thought i was going crazy when NONE of the songs i was playing followed these rules?? 🙈
I'm guessing this video is just a basic. .

Yes. Something you don’t learn until after you’ve been taking instrument lessons for years smh
Thanks Mrs. Ramirez!!
Such a master explanation and a keyboard on the board? Brilliant! Thanks so much Karen!
I feel enlightened after learning from this lady. Thank you so much maam :)
Love how you teach! I think a good teacher is a good story teller :)

Thank you so much! I have been asking people how this ties together all my life and either nobody could tell me or I could not get them to understand what I was asking. This is incredible!
I've ALWAYS played by ear. I stumbled across this video and played it twice (since I know NOTHING about music and POW... the mental light went ON! EXCELLENT. If I can understand it, anyone can. BRAVO Karen!
same here
D Byrd Me to, how awesome was that, to actually see something your brain takes for granted actually given a visual & verbal explanation. I still don't even really understand it fully, but the fact what some of us do naturally has such a technical aspect to it is pretty darn cool to see its explainable (kinda) still gotta work out why we can play by ear lol.
As an aspiring guitarist this was extremely helpful
Been playing guitar for 7 years and piano 5 years and this was the most helpful video ive ever watched
Amazing humor to teach, you are the best Ms. Ramirez...for years I did not know what I was doing...Thank you for sharing!

I played all my chords naturally because my teacher drills the chord into me, so usually, I will play the chords required by heart. But the lady in the video explains it all as I never understood the theory of playing the organ when I was in school. I have a better idea with her reasoning, it is more understandable and logical to me now. I learned something new after all these years. Lol.
This video is gonna save me a great number of years. Thank you baby girl😊 for sharing your knowledge.
I honestly sat in music class not knowing anything at all until this video, I really wished I had a tutor like ma'am thank u so much blessings from New Zealand
Felt as if i was in the classroom. Really great information. Browsing all your vids now!
