Paul Simon is a true poet, he wrote all their songs and wth Art Garfunkels angelic voice…….there is no cover of any of their songs that can ever touch the originals.
Art garfunkel has timeless voice yes we're listening vouce of an agel he sang with a heart so splended smooth we loved the song and of course art garfunkel sang very beautiful👍😌🙏❤
Beautiful reaction from a lovely young woman ❣️ The vocal were delivered by the taller guy in the photo, Art Garfunkel, arguably one of the finest tenors of that era! Only in the final verse (....Sail on silver girl....) did Paul Simon join in. Thank you for this gorgeous classic 👼🌹🤩🥰
Hello Blessing. This goes straight to the heard, right? One more part of my youth. Simon and Garfunkel, what a team. Paul Simon, a genius as a songwriter, Art Garfunkel with his iconic voice. Unreached, forever! Have a nice weekend. 😎👍🔥❤🔥
Met Garfunkel when I was 10 (loooooong time ago).Took guitar lessons with my friend Lou Pearlman, whose parents invite me over for dinner. Lou introduces me to his cousin Art. I had NO IDEA who he was. Think they had just released their first album. Still have Art's autograph from that meeting. Lou went on to form the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.
I live your reaction and yes that last verse usually left out of the covers. In my opinion makes the song😢 so so more meaningful and pushes the emotions from saying how beautiful to I want this in my life the song the feeling of someone caring for me like thus !
The artistry on display here is breathtaking and it was reflected all over your face Blessing. The last artist I saw you having a somewhat similar look in your eye for, was Bobby Hatfield. This is one of my favorite reactions of yours. I loved it. Sending my warmest regards to all those in the MrsPP family, RNB
"Bridge over Troubled Water" is a bona-fide 20th century classic. Simon & Garfunkel released it in January of 1970. It quickly went to #1 in the U.S. charts and stayed there for two months before stepping aside for The Beatles "Let it Be". It went on to win the Grammy award for Song of the Year. The "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album was the last album they made together. This song was all over the radio when I was a really little kid, so hearing it always takes me back to very fond memories of my late mother. Art Garfunkel's singing on the song is wondrous. Aretha Franklin's cover draws out the gospel touches as only she can, so check out her version of the song too. Other way points to make inside the Simon & Garfunkel catalog include "The Sound of Silence", "Scarborough Fair/Canticle", "Homeward Bound", "Mrs. Robinson", "A Hazy Shade of Winter", "Cecilia", "El Cóndor Pasa (If I Could)", "America", "At the Zoo", "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)", and "I Am a Rock" along with many others. Also check out some of the classics Paul Simon dropped after he went solo, "Mother and Child Reunion", "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard", "Loves Me Like a Rock", "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover", "Slip Slidin Away", "Kodachrome", "Late in the Evening", "Graceland", "You Can Call Me Al", "Homeless", "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes", and "The Obvious Child" along with many others.
Beautiful reaction as always, Blessing! Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song and one with a lot of meaning. I enjoyed watching this. Here's to your next one! 🙏😊💜
Paul Simon originally wrote just the first two verses, and was insistent that the song was complete. It took a lot of persuasion from Art Garfunkle and their producer for Paul to add the third verse - so, yes, it was an addition - but I think it really adds another dimension to the song, transforming it from a great song to one of the very best ever.
This is the version which is the greatest. Not that the others aren't good but there is no way to improve on it. It came at a time when there were protests, Vietnam and chaos, drama all over the U.S. I was in college when protests closed the campus. This was perfect to ease the troubles so we could cope. Loved how you personally felt every note and let the lyrics touch your soul.
Definitely, check out "The Boxer" and "The Sound of Silence" from the studio albums. Also, "Cecilia", "El Condor Pasa", "Me and Julio in the School Yard", "Homeward Bound", "I Am a Rock", "Scarborough Fair/Canticle" and "Bleecker Street" for starters.
Love all your reactions! Please check out more Queen. “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Love of My Life” live from the same Montreal 1981 concert will blow you away. Also “Under Pressure” live at Wembley is amazing. Their Live Aid 1985 performance is considered to be THE Greatest live performance EVER. It’s 20 minutes but WELL worth the time. You really can’t go wrong with any of their live performances. There’s also “In My Defence”, which is a Freddie solo song. It will take you through all of your feels. Love the channel!!
This song was written specifically for Art Garfunkel and his wonderful voice. Paul would refer to it as Artie’s song. This is the original and is amazing.
Lovely song and reaction, thanks. . Do yourself a favour and listen to the 1969 live version from before the album was released. Just Larry Knechtel and Art Garfunkel. You can hear the audience realise how special it is. exquisite.
How about check out something different and old school? Like Ike and Tina, River deep mountain high: ua-cam.com/video/uj0wPrN_Y_4/v-deo.html. Famous record producer Phil Spector only had Tina in mind for this song, but Ike insisted he be on this song as well. I think you guys will love it. ENJOY 😎
Thanks to Larry Knechtal, pianist on this song...he's a very famous studio musician. Young people NEED to study these masterpieces to understand the timelessness of REAL music, GOOD music. Just as I studied Beethoven, Mozart, Gershwin, the Beatles, Motown, some Country music, young people need to stop living in a musical cocoon created by the fickle media. At one time only human beings made music together with real instruments instead 2-3 guys hiding behind a damned computer playing with droning sounds and drumbeats & special effects. Thousands of musicians lost a living because of computers. the record companies were real happy not to have to pay them, but the human part of music was lost. No autotuned crap here, real talent.
This is a sentiment that seems to be lacking these days. I picked up an item in the supermarket the other day, as it had fallen over, and I put it back on the shelf. My granddaughter, who was with me, asked," Why did you do that, you don't work here." The fact that we can all have a better life, if we all help out just didn't occur to her. 😢
Hi dear this is my first version from a classic. The only other version I encountered was a cover from a cover artist. I will definitely like to see the Elvis one
If you believe in God, the words to this song were given to Simon by God to be sung by Garfunkel, to let you know he will always be there for you, Always.

It is a song about real strength, real power. The power to give all you have for someone else, asking nothing in return. It is a song of true love.

Art Garfunkel sang the first two stanzas and both sang the last one and then Garfunkel sang the last chorus.

Written 60 years ago, and it's still as relevant today. This is the definition of timeless. And yes, you are listening to the voice of an angel.
This is the version which is the greatest.

Hi Lori thank you!
Simon is as good a songwriter as anyone.
This song was written specifically for Art Garfunkel and his wonderful voice. Paul would refer to it as Artie’s song. This is the original and is amazing.
masterpiece......the original is the best......because the sense of this song cant be known better.......
Great song and loved your reaction to it.
You have to check out the 1970 live performance of this song by Elvis Presley It's incredible.
Lovely song and reaction, thanks. . Do yourself a favour and listen to the 1969 live version from before the album was released. Just Larry Knechtel and Art Garfunkel. You can hear the audience realise how special it is. exquisite.

No riffs and that is wonderful.
Only Art Garfunkle is singing. Paul simon wrote it.
is there a purer voice?
Not this side of Heaven ❤
1960's
Elvis does an amazing version of this song.
Cover only means that it was an inspiration for that artist.. listen to the original 1st so than maybe you understand their connection.
I hope you are not following the captions, they are total trash. Thank you for the reaction! Thanks and God Bless!
have you reacted to Elvis version?
Hi dear this is my first version from a classic. The only other version I encountered was a cover from a cover artist. I will definitely like to see the Elvis one
This sounds like a remaster or alternative take or? I almost thought it was a later re-recording... Anybody else??
This is the original hit.
@@jchow5966 it sounds weird
Why is this not in stereo. Sounds very one dimentional.
If you believe in God, the words to this song were given to Simon by God to be sung by Garfunkel, to let you know he will always be there for you, Always.
Prettiest lips on the internet......kinda reminds me of Bernadette Peters
Only fuller

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel are both, I believe, Jewish--but this song would not be out of place as a hymn in any Christian church...
So you know, Paul Simon can't sing a lick.
Never could...
Agree!
