Yes Tom you are so Wright I can't think of anywhere else In the USA I would live that Denton. People are so friendly and helpful hear . Best place in North Texas.
Next time you are in the area you should have lunch on the square. Check out Flower Mound and Copper Canyon the contrast between both places is pretty amazing despite them being side by side.
When I was a kid back in the very early 1980's, my dad and I used to ride his Yamaha 400 Special motorcycle around Denton, usually every late Sunday morning during the Fall months while the weather was still favorable. We used to ride up from Lake Dallas and kind of buzz around the town a little bit just for something to do. Great memories.
Just to warn you I-35 is terrible, even with the added express lanes. North Texas is the most moved to place in America statistically proven. The roads are full and the price of real estate including apartments has gone up atleast 15-20 percent in the past few years. It's still amazing dont get me wrong, but sadly it isn't as homey as it use to be ;(
Lived here in Denton going on 10 months, and knew where you were for most of the video. Moved out here from San Diego county in 2014, and meandered around Richardson, Garland and Plano. I like Denton for a couple of reasons: It's got it's own look and feel that's very distinct from the rest of the DFW metroplex. Driving around Richardson, Garland, Plano, Allen, Rockwall, etc, everything blurs together and you can't tell one town from the other, and Denton has a similar vibe (if that's the proper term) to where I grew up in inland San Diego, in a little place called Escondido in the late 70s and 80s. The presence of 2 major universities (TWU and UNT) have a lot to do with it, while still being very much a medium size Texas town. Though that might change in the next few years: D. R. Horton has 3 500+ unit planned communities under construction right now.
I’m familiar with Escondido! I actually went to high school at Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad. Thanks for tuning into the channel! And that’s for the facts
Denton County is one of the few areas of North Texas that still has that smalltown community charm to it, but that's steadily eroding away with more urban development and population growth.
Love ❤️ the roll thru live there from 2007 all the way to 2014 back in Fresno County California but it was lovely when I was there a lot memories man that’s crazy
I’m getting ready to move from here. It’s a really sad time for me as I grew up here and raised my kids here. This town always felt safe and lively to me and my friends. There’s always somewhere you can go and something to do. It’s growing so much though and I miss the way it used to be. I’ll miss my hometown so much 😢
My experiences in Denton are limited to visitng friends during the "Fry Street Fair" a couple of times in the late 90s. I wish i still had the t-shirt i bought that said, "Denton TX, just like Disneyland, only smaller" Is that still a thing? UNT art and music majors were some amazing folks!
Question to all Denton residents or living around the area; I have a plan to construct and establish a horse tack shop in Denton to business in local and wholesales distribution to other Texan cities. 1: Shall I go for Denton or Dallas or Fort Worth? 2: Any suggestion. Thanks in advance for your time, consideration, and efforts for a response.
Though I was born in Dallas, I've spent most of my life in Denton. So for all intents and purposes, this is my hometown. I actually plan to leave here for good once the pandemic' over. There's nothing left for me here; I have no friends (I don't even believe in the concept of friendship anyway); I still live with my family (whom I despise with an enormous passion). There are several people I know who've moved on with their lives; it's time I move on with mine.
It's Changed ! Was my Parents home town . went to Sam Houston grammar school there in 53, 54, 55 ! Remember the square for sure and old Highway 35 and the NEHI Beverage plant, Noth Teas State, Texas Women's College ! Sure has changed ! Probably all YUPPYFIED and liberal by now !

Thank you so much for filming this. This is my hometown, I’ve lived here all my life. It’s one of the greatest places in Texas
can you explain why? I'm highly considering moving to Dallas and I'm trying to figure out which suburb I want to live in.

Does Denton have public transportation like the metro in Dallas?
Yes
Looks pretty sleepy, which is way better than dangerous.
