Thanks for the video. I'm from Singapore but I lived in Denton for 3 years. I've not been back for a very long time. Maybe I should have stayed in Denton because right now I live in Singapore. And its the most expensive country in the world. Sigh. I love Denton. I lived in Fry Street. Denton home prices are so cheap.

Denton is boring. I disagree that there is much nightlife. The lakes are pretty gross, not a lot of activities for children, no good hiking trails or pretty scenery, no great museums. Lots of restaurants if you can afford the ever increasing cost of eating out. Lots of chain stores. A big overturn of mom and pop stores due to high commercial rent and every increasing property tax appraisals- so less and less cute or interesting independently owned businesses. Cost of living used to be good, then fair, but that has been gone for 15 years now. Housing/rent is high and there is an escalating homeless population. Seems very crowded with poor air quality now and lots of gridlock traffic in all directions Used to be very low crime, but that is increasing too- especially burglaries and car thefts. Anything that was good about it is gone.
You described Denton perfectly. I lived there from 2004 until 2011. It was a cool little college town. I moved back to Denton in March 2024 it's changed too much for the worse. I didn't like it at all and moved back to Dallas recently. The only thing I like about Denton today is North Lakes Park and it's walking trails.
