8:12 No, it doesn't suck. You want to know what sucks? Exclusives suck. Exclusives are the epitomy of anti-consumer because they force the people to spend much more money on hardware than necessary or just not having access to a big chunk of games. Consoles should not exist period. If all games where just on PC/portable PC we wouldn't have such anti-consumer practices like exclusives -everyone would have access to all games without having to buy a second or even third console. As far as the next generation is concerned: I think you're correct that the next XBox will be a portable PC of some sort akin to the Steamdeck. Would also allow them to use Windows as the operating system btw. Square Enix has made very clear that just selling their games on one platform is not enough - game development is too expensive for that (well - except mobile gaming given the fact that mobile games are cheaper to make and the market is way bigger).
I’m a Matty fan and defender, but even I find it absolutely wild to rant about kids playing free to play mobile games while pumping a free to play mobile game.
Kids don't have money! I wish I had free games to play as a kid instead of waiting for Christmas or Birthdays. I have never seen a child turn down a PS5😂
* beep boop * I am Regurgitation Bot #13 This is your obligatory reminder that, "He has bills to pay." In all seriousness though, you're lucky you posted this after all the soy-o boy-os got tucked into bed with their footy pajamas and sippy cups, otherwise your replies would look like mine 😂
@ Sony literally tried to force activision to deny Xbox games until a judge ruled against them and turned out they didn't even own them. So once again why do you care
Xbox is a game pass console now. Microsoft bought all those game developers (Blizzard Activision, Rare, etc to put their games on game pass. Xbox isn't focused on console sales. They are focusing on game pass and multiplatform.
The good old days had Nintendo vs Sega, then PS vs Sega vs Nintendo, then PS vs Xbox vs Nintendo. I guess if we go back even further then hardware only mattered because of how good a port you could get but even then we had the Atari dominance for a small time.
Idk why it took Xbox owners this long to finally get it. Once Xbox went day and date on PC ppl should've abandoned ship. Better late than never. I'll always be a console guy until they stop making them so ps and Nintendo is all I need.
Sold my series x two days ago, only keeping my ps5 for GTA VI. My transition into PC started in 2018 and I recently got a steam deck OLED and it’s a game changer.
Started dating my current partner towards the beginning of this generation, and she has a great PC. I am so thankful for it because I would have bought a PS5 or Xbox, but I never needed to. At this point, I am never going back.
I have little to no faith in PC anymore or at least it's community, the kind of toxic garbage people PC is being wasted on with easily the most ego driven player's in gaming I'll take whatever game's Microsoft is willing to offer PlayStation but I'm not going back to PC, neither graphics or CPU/GPU matter to me what matters is having a platform for gaming & PC just isn't it for me anymore at least in serious sense as every game that gets released on PC gets ruined
I don't understand this mentality that you only want to buy a device if it has games that can only be played on that device. You buy a device because it has games you want to play and you enjoy playing on that device. If you like playing on an Xbox then play on your Xbox. Why do you care who else gets to play those games. My PC can play any game I want to play from nearly every publisher, Nintendo obviously not included. I don't give two shits if a gamer can also play those games on another device. It's such a childish mentality that you wanna be able to go online and brag about being able to play a game that someone else can't. Just play the games.
I look at it this way. Maybe I like playing Xbox games more than PS but still wish I could. However, I went with the system that I preferred. But if those Xbox games are gonna be on the PS, then why wouldn’t I just buy that instead and play both?.. have the games I prefer but also the games I still wanted to play as well. To me at least, it’s not about who can play those games but the overall value and bang for my buck. Xbox’s marketing is literally telling me not to buy an Xbox anymore as the games will be somewhere else anyway
This guy just doesn't get it. Exclusives are the lifeblood of a console. Always have been. Always will be. Don't want to make exclusives? Go third party fully and get out of the console space. It makes no sense to put out a console with no exclusivity.
Microsoft has a bad habit of changing strategy before their decisions end up bearing fruit. They've done this so often now that I have difficulty believing that they're fully committed to their game-plans to stick their landing. I have a strong feeling that 6-12 months from now, they'll switch it up again and announce they want to get back into the console space.
Microsoft was ahead of the trend with the Xbox one cuz everything went to internet of things, Alexa and hello Google on everything just like they predicted. People just weren't ready for it.
Realistically, Microsoft won't know this impact of those "four Xbox games" (nor the ones soon to follow) until next generation. Most users have planted their flags for this gen. Those games going to PS realistically wouldn't convince anyone to go from Xbox to PlayStation right now. However, when PS6 and Xbox Next come out they will see it. I predict Xbox Next will not sell well and they will earn less revenue on game purchases. They may see an uptick in GamePass and more usage of their Cloud platform. But that makes sense with what they have been marketing. My further prediction is that PS6 will really be battling against the Steam console for living room dominance. Xbox won't even be a contender, in that space.
I don't think their will even be a xbox next if they do anything it will be some kind of pc hybrid I don't see them investing in a traditional console anymore
Welcome to the PC master race. You can get the Xbox games and more and more PlayStation games too. If it's not enough, get a Playstation as well. But currently both consoles have concerning tendencies.
As a playstation user I am hyped for this but have to say it worries me that Xbox could stop doing hardware because I know what that means Sony will be able to do
Xbox failing in the hardware space and not releasing a "Xbox Pro" is why Sony was able to get away with selling a PS5 Pro for 700 bucks without a disc drive and stand. Once Xbox fully leaves the hardware space like Sega did after it lost to Nintendo, PlayStation is going to become very very consumer unfriendly and start fucking over it's players for higher profits. Imo, everyone should switch to PC gaming and using Steam ASAP.
@@ThwipThwipBoomfunny you say that because Steam also has no competition in the PC space. Even the second place digital distribution store is in a distant second
What is the obsession with exclusives? Im9lay their games day one on Game Pass whilst other platform users pay full price without impacting my experience.
I find this kind of video to be Fear Mongering. There is no issue with the idea of a Multiplatform future, and I seem to remember a few years ago when we were all quite tired of exclusivity. Get over it, honestly. Play the games you want where you want and quit calling every move “the end of Xbox” or whatever franchise/brand. It’s wildly ridiculous.
Yep, however now you own none of your games. Because all this is digital. You will have fun until the servers glitch. You will own nothing and be happy. A game gets backlash because it offends someone, well they can take the game down and it takes your copy too. If you have a terrible release like concord come around? Welp now you loose the game access because xbox doesn't want you to have it. Oh a license expired for a classic game or gta IV is no longer backwards compatible because music license issues? Bye bye gta IV.
Yea the players have been complaining for 20 years about console exclusives, I think even Matty has talked about it, and now Xbox is deciding to make a move away from exclusives and everyone is freaking out
Not really, Forza got brought about because Xbox needed a answer to Gran Turismo, like-wise, a couple of Sony Shooters were probably brought about to counter Halo like Resistance or Killzone.
Next generation assumption is based on Microsoft feeling like hardware is still a priority. I think Microsoft has made it loud and clear hardware is not a priority and they are looking to imitate steam with a Netflix spin to it. I might not like it, but I do believe the trend and technology is heading in that direction. I think the better thing to contemplate is if Xbox is ahead of the newest trend or are they way too early.
To be fair, this might work out for Xbox as it did Sega. All they care about is software. The quality and decisions with their studios are questionable, but I'd rather see them be upfront.
Yeah, they're basically following Sega's steps, There's way more money to be made as a publisher than selling consoles, look at the TakeTwo for example, they got their Rockstar money printer and the only thing they do is leech off the profits.
@504Trey The problem is if there's only a traditional council. I'm talking Xbox, doesn't innovate? Makes it more powerful than the PS6, but has no exclusives. Or everything's timed like basically the Bear minimum, this right here. Would I don't think what happened? But if it's like this, no one's gonna buy the console unless they have a back catalog of Xbox games that are basically physical. If they have no disk drive which if they do this, they will have a disk drive. I think then basically you're cutting off. So many people. Because they're all migrant to PC because they can play their games there. If that happens barely, maybe half I'll say 10 million people will buy the console. That seems like a lot before developer that says Hey. Why should we put our third party game on this console? If we won't be able to get a return investment, that means every game will go PC. PlayStation and the only games you'll see on the Xbox console or game pass games or games that Microsoft shells out millions of dollars, which I don't think they realize that might happen. They might have to start paying millions of dollars just to have third party games. Getting on there, so say pay us because apparently call duty did this and they decide to buy them outright. So that's a thing. They said they had to pay millions of dollars to keep Call of Duty on the console and this is BS because Call of Duty is guaranteed to sell the console but it's the weakest market for them. So they basically bullied Xbox. Every developer will do this Rockstar be like pay us. Millions of dollars to put red dead 3 on your console, forcing them to do it. This is why I don't think they will do that. Or they're just not seeing it right now, if they can't sell their console. Developers will not put their games on it. Plain and simple and I don't see Microsoft shelling out millions of dollars to have basically a random game 45. Please put on it so basically be a time to squeeze the box. Now what I think was gonna happen is they're gonna add steam to it, which will get around developers. Skipping the console at the bare minimum. Hopefully it'll allow you to play PC. Games like it won't just allow you to play. PC games with controllers support only that will still be a lot of games, especially the same. The only ones unless Sony pulls the games from steam, which I don't see them doing. And if it can't play computer only games with which don't have a game pad support. Maybe give a warning before you start the game. But basically if you could play those games like that on a console, that'll be a game chamber, because then it wouldn't sell everyone that complains about games. Being PC only will buy an Xbox because they can play PC games plus you might be able to upgrade it and won't have to initially buy a new console. I'm hoping this happens. It's literally the only way I think their hardware would sell. I think they would actually sell more probably. Then the 30 million they sold this generation because I think a lot of the people would still buy into that. Because then you'll get more games a lot of the biggest complaint. I see from Xbox fans about the fleeces. Going is the fact that less and less games are being put on Xbox or being money. Added by PlayStation. Microsoft has not responded to this. The closest we got was. We're not gonna do a trade for like hell. Divers for grounded, which was b******* fills, should have pushed for a trade of games. Like seriously, he's came out and publicly said that it helps no one that it's not on Xbox. I'm still waiting for it to be announced. Cause it'll instantly sell.
I recently realized that I am no longer a Xbox fan. I'm a pc player who plays games on gamepass once in a blue moon, whereas in the past I owned every console and absolutely loved the community and games.
So you’re Xbox fan. They don’t want you locked to a plastic box and you still use their services. You’re exactly what they want. Thank you for supporting Xbox
Consoles are like cd players. Dedicated to one cd player to listed to music or one cd player brand is kinda ridiculous. I’m all for being fans of games but this much loyalty to a media player is kinda wack. Video games are the only form of entertainment where people get this serious about brand dedication to consume their media. You don’t see this with TVs for movies and shows, you don’t see it for sound systems to listen to music. Even computers are just a Frankenstein of parts from 30 different companies
@ They don’t need your emotional investment. Do you use Gamepass or not? Do you use Microsoft games store or not? That is what matters. You’re basically upset that a corporation broke your emotional attachment. Bizarre
@@EggEnjoyer You can enjoy a part of something, and not be a fan of the greater entity. Examples: "I really enjoyed the 5th song on their album. But I am not a fan of the rest of it." "I like a few of their songs, but I'm not really a fan." "I really like Elden Ring and Bloodborne. But I'm not really a fan of anything else they made." (Not really, just making things up.) Are you a Netflix fan because you pay a monthly subscription for it? Or is it the most affordable option to watch your favorite shows? Are you an Xbox fan because you subscribe to Gamepass? Sure, that might lead to being a fan. But there's people out there that are subscribed to Gamepass, and don't even care that it is Xbox. They just wanna play the game for as cheap as possible.
i dont see any of this as bad honestly. People shouldn't be fans of a console / company anyway, thats for when ur a kid. So now more people get to enjoy some great games on different systems, win , win for gamers. Xbox live will still be the draw for console players and they may pick xbox consoles for that, but if ur a pc gamer, i see pretty much zero negatives here. End of the day none of this comes as a surprise, the writing was on the wall with how hard they were pushing xbox live and not there hardware for years now.
Imagine getting mad that other people get to play a game. The conversation isn’t about “hey have you tried this game it’s amazing”. Instead it’s a list war of what games you have that others don’t. People like feeling special about “I have things that others don’t”.
I know some people are like that but there’s two issues that you downplay from people upset about this. 1. While they hinted at this future, Xbox’s marketing has been all over the place and really did try to convince people early on that their console was the safe bet for their games, and though they are getting beat by the competition they did sell millions of consoles to people who may or may not have the money or resources to purchase other consoles.. so they may have gotten or stayed in the Xbox ecosystem that now they are seemingly moving away from, which means those consumers were somewhat better off buying the competition, because they could always have just subscribed to gamepass. They got duped in essence. 2. Competition is good, all these companies when given the chance to be anti consumer do so immediately.. there is legitimate fear how much power this gives Sony and Nintendo in the console space. Stuff like ps plus exists cause of Xbox live/gamepass, the free games, the ports to pc, even the digital store,etc.. when Xbox went greedy after 360, Sony dropped price of ps4 and removed a lot of anti consumer practices Xbox was trying to implement.. this was all due to competition..
“Cmon bro why u mad the exclusivity you paid for is being given away for free? Bruh, aren’t you pro gamer?? If u wanna play ps5 games just buy a ps5 or pc lol.”
I don't understand when people get angry that more people can play more games. Why do people think exclusives are good for them? Ideally anyone should be able to play anything anywhere. GamePass is I think the future for MS, and it's a fairly good deal. I would probably still be giving them money (despite not like MS) if they allowed it to work on Linux. I hope the success of the Steam Deck pushes them in that direction. I don't see how it benefits them at all to have the games locked down and encrypted with their proprietary system like they do now. It only makes it so it can't work on other operating systems, which costs them subscribers.
I’m happy I went to pc. Sony has few exclusives just like Xbox. All there stuff is coming to pc and some of the single player game will be day and date. Guess you’ll wish to go to oc next. Console players are just fools
It’s a very simple calculus, really: if you can play PlayStation games on a PlayStation and you can play Xbox games on a Playstation, then what the f@#$ reason is there to buy an Xbox? Sega at least had the self respect to be sad when they dropped their console line and went games-only, whereas Microsoft is doing it with a smile on their faces and trying to convince everyone that Xbox is still a thing as a hardware platform. No. _Microsoft Gaming_ might be doing well for itself right now, but when you take the box out of Xbox, then there is no Xbox.
Quick resume, backwards compatibility, game boost on older Gen games, more ergonomic controller, not having to pay 80$ for a game or controller, expandable storage without having to open your console, easy to clean, cloud saves that transfer to PC, not having to purchase a stand separately, battery life on controller is better, not having to buy call of duty day 1, and not having to pay a lot more money for a PC which is a better solution than both tbh. So why buy either if you have a PC? Why care about what people choose to play games on is the bigger question.
I'm all for the multiplatform strategy. Sell games everywhere, and depend on having a console with good hardware to sell instead of trying tie games to bad hardware just to move units.
Same. I just think of it as it’s best for the games to be everywhere. Halo and gears multiplayer being hunkered down to just one platform is holding back those games potential . I can only imagine how much more budget resources halo infinite would have rn if it was on ps.
It’s a nice sentiment, but why would a consumer buy a console that directly limits the available game library in comparison to other consoles? PlayStation and Switch automatically now are gonna have the largest amount of available games. Xbox will just have Xbox and third party games. If GamePass is enough of a draw, that’s great. But data would suggest that it isn’t the case now while exclusives are still *kind of* a thing for Xbox, so I’m pretty fearful they’re kneecapping themselves without really realising it
Devs won't take advantage of your power, though, if you only have like 15 million sales because, for one, there's already parody clauses on the books which makes sure that PS5 and the Xbox version are the same. They make every developer that puts their game on a PlayStation model. Have the same graphics and runs the same. This came out during the ftc trial. That's one reason why, despite the Xbox be more powerful and everywhere. But the SSD all the games looked the same or run better on the PlayStation. 8 gets priority every time when it comes to optimization. The Xbox comes second when it comes to consoles. The only game that really didn't sign a pair of clothes is Alan Wake. They came out so they didn't and look that game ran better on Xbox. But again, performance won't sell the console. I think if you're baseless saying there's no exclusives or it's time to exclusive. People won't buy it unless you have a big physical media presence. Because if they don't even have a deskdrive everyone's gonna migrate the p, c, that's just a fact, cause you can play your Xbox games on PC if you bottom digitally. So don't only hope for Xbox if they go down. This path with no exclusives is basically have steam and be able to play all steam games. Or at least all steam games that have controller support. Now I think you should be able to play PC games that require mouse and keyboard. Just give them a warning to plug it in. Or run with basic gamepad and give them the option to do the controls. Everyone always messes with their controls. They could do that. It'll be a game changer because then they could also get around money so any money hadn't because they'll have to keep it off.P c to keep it off xbox which developers don't want to do plus I'll get around third party skipping them and also allowed in the play some sony games unless they pull it from steam
@@Spam591_Because most consumers do not play Sony exclusives. They don’t sell well. So a service like Gamepass offers much more than those exclusives that they don’t even play

Why care about this? If you're a fan and prefer the controller or the software/dashboard experience, that is why you would still buy an Xbox console in the future. You're not losing games and this chips away at exclusivity. More people getting more games. This is weird.
Huh? Why would you spend 700 bucks on an OS while the games are everywhere else? Not only that but it's a locked down OS. The controller can be used on any devices....theres no reason to buy an xbox ever
@@ksks6802same for PlayStation tho?? You think they will be able to continue to keep their games off other platforms you are delusional if you think that. It's just not sustainable anymore.
@ksks6802 How does this 'hurt' you? If anything you're now more free to buy the console you prefer, concerning whatever bells and whistles matter to you, and no longer have to buy an Xbox because of exclusivity.
I won’t effect me now But when next gen comes, it definitely will effect my decision on which console to get An Xbox that can play Xbox first party games and some third party games(many still skip and don’t put their games on xbox) and NO PlayStation first party games OR A PS6 that can play PlayStation first party games, Xbox first party games, and most third party games The best choice no doubt here will be the PS6 And don’t try to say “they have game pass” cause we have seen that the majority of gamers don’t care about it despite how great it is and they would instead buy their games
I've never cared much for exclusivity, and honestly, Xbox never really did either. That's not to say they haven't had exclusives. In general, they were done as a means to garner attention to them when they entered the scene and then here and there with minor things following. I do find it a bit ironic, though, that they got trashed on for not having them, followed by panic when they started buying up big name studios and now it's more hate that they don't want to play the exclusive game lol make up your minds already. Really though if this plan of theirs can end with no more exclusives and full crossplay like they seem to be trying for I can only see it as a win for everyone..but good luck getting Nintendo and Sony on board.
GamePass and Satya actively killing the Xbox brand and giving Sony the green light to screw every gamer over. Hate to see it but everyone at Xbox now is spineless and will just go with it.
Xbox made one big push to get their brand in the industry with the original Xbox with new IP's, technology and making online to consoles the new norm, then complacency slipped in riding on the same select franchises and tried to push them as many out the door as possible leading to Bungie leaving Halo and the failed/forced bid for Kinect twice with Don Mattrick delivering a final fatal blow to Xbox being a competitor. It's such a god-damn shame that Microsoft so grossly mismanaged the brand.

“Xbox” is becoming an unnecessary middle man. Hence the need to purchase the entire industry. It will be Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft as the only publishers soon. This is how Microsoft does business. Happy to have them as an American company, sucks for gaming technology.
Microsoft fully committed to the bait and switch on their customers. It’s really not that hard to switch platforms, especially if you don’t trade in your last console.
I have a ton invested in my Series X so I won't give it up. I just buy far less, no longer sub to GP, and switched to PS5 as my main platform. When next Gen rolls around, I'm officially done with XBox. I refuse to buy new hardware from them at thus point. The XBox brand has become a joke.
@@djstef4549as a person who has all the consoles and a good gaming PC, personally I feel like Xbox is less useful than a PS. That does not mean the PS is miles better, as soon as the games get on PC it is also useless.
@@lukaede7172 you can feel like that. I would disagree because Xbox is gamepass which I love. People nowadays don’t even play exclusives. It’s cod gta fortnite and apex. And other online games. God of war ragnorok was assessable to over 100m and only sold 15m.
@Phantasystar77 Just do the reasonable thing and play on PC man. On PC you not only have the best hardware but also all the games regardless of publisher because Sony as well as XBox are releasing their titles on PC. They can't afford to stick to their small walled gardens and ignore the big market which is PC gaming (no, Sony's installbase of 120 million PS 4's and 5's is not a lot compared to more than 1.5 billion people playing on PC in 2023) - game development of their big titles is too expensive now for that (Spiderman 1 broke even after 2.4 million copies sold - Spiderman 2 needed to sell 7.7 million copies to break even. And the next titls will be much, much more expensive than Spiderman 2 was).
Microsoft is in the unique position of not only having a heavy hand in the console industry but also in the pc industry as well. It makes sense why they’d consolidate the Xbox. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with a pc hybrid of some kind to completely get themselves out of the console world and dip more into more accessibility in pcs. You know PlayStation is only looking at PC and are extremely close to needing to jump ship with consoles themselves with how fast technology is accelerating and the gap PC has over console. If the only criteria is 'make good games' it would be better for them to not succeed, since other studios do that already and they only 'Microsoft difference' is their monopolistic tendancies.
Microsoft has admitted they lost the console war, no one wants an Xbox. They’re also admitting gamepass is a failure, bc they can’t even reach half of the required subscribers they need to keep that business model alive. Looks like it’s just Nintendo and Sony now

I hate the rose colored glasses gamers use when looking at the past, people are way more likely to have multiple consoles today than 20 years ago, Circana backs that up and anyone who had to wait 3 years for the ps3 to go down in price does too, consoles and video games have never been cheaper and if you think otherwise you’re just wrong.
Xbox fans cried about playstation exclusives for years, celebrated when Microsoft bought the entire industry and now cry they will lose exclusives and get no new ones. Hypocrites
Shitosoft shot themselves in the foot with all the acquisitions, they has more than enough studios, the problem is in the quality control and studio management
I'm optimistic about the strategy. As someone who's main library is my Xbox library. I care about the long term, I want Microsoft to keep investing in gaming across the board. Plus if Xbox has realized that 70 million ps5s is 70 million new places to make sales. You got ask yourself how long is it before PlayStation looks at xbox and thinks.... That's 30 million new places to make sales.
@alex1212456 I don't know where this notion that Xbox players don't buy games came from. Yes I have game pass and I play games in the service, but I still buy multiple third party games every year. I just bought Star wars outlaws, mafia trilogy and Outer Worlds Spacers choice edition for myself for xmas. Also DLC for first party games is not in gamepass and I buy that too, and this is similar with all my Xbox friends. So I think this idea that Xbox players don't spend money is just false.
@@MagicalMajestic ok so this year I bought Skull and Bones, hypercharge, Death Stranding, Dragon Age Vielguard, and Star Wars Outlaws. All which release on Xbox this year. So no it doesn't.
@@alex1212456but when the top selling games are only shifting 25 -30 million copies on PlayStation !!!! ( despite the 120 million PS4s + 70 million ps5s out there ) they need that 30 million , aswell as , many pc players as they can get 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly they are getting their content to more people who may have never been able to enjoy it before, because they own a PlayStation or Nintendo. Who the hell wants to buy a Xbox if you have a PlayStation or Nintendo we are not all rich, it's either one or the other to most so I think it's a W for gamers overall. Only Xbox fan boys wine about something I personally see as great.
Exclusive is anti consumer and exploitive forcing people who cant afford something to buy a console just to a play a game woth a friend is not pro consumer and people who defended this are just corporate meat riders I was poor i know how it is
I think you have to look at whether you only buy one console per generation or not. If you buy all the consoles, exclusivities don’t matter, but for those of us that only bought XBox, the change is painful. It makes no sense to have XBox be the one console to buy.
I'm 47 and I have been a hardcore gamer since I was 8. I have 2 kids 16 & 20 and I have bought them every console that has come out since the OG XBOX and PS3 and we have always maintained the latest gaming PC and my wife and I played Halo 3 with them for years but the sad truth is that even though they have had every game possible they now prefer F2P garbage games like Genshin or Roblox to Elden Ring or Cyberpunk and I don't get it and I never will. Kids under 20 have an attention span of 5 minutes
There is a much larger societal-based reason to explain why the youngins these days are brain-addled but I'm not going to get into that since youtube already has it out for me and censors half my comments to begin with
I find it interesting that Microsoft feels like they're the ones who get to redefine what it means to be an Xbox fan. Isn't that up to the fans themselves?
Nintendo will slowly become a mobile gaming company, they were thinking about doing this before the Switch was successful. But so much of their user base (young kids) are playing on ipads and other tablets.
There is now literally no reason to invest in the Xbox ecosystem. Why buy an Xbox over a PS5 now? Serious question coming from an xbox fan...and no, gamepass isn't the answer. Long term i genuinely believe this will be bad for Xbox, losing users to other ecosystems means losing all sales through their store from Fortnite Vbucks, third party games and more...which is the majority of income on a platform. All platforms have exclusives, ever..single...platform.
PC gamepass and a PS5 is the play from now on. I hopped on the Xbox PC app a 3-4 yrs ago and haven't looked back. I still love the ecosystem but if you have a capable PC, PC gamepass is the best value in gaming
This is fine me I'm 100% ok with no exclusives it means more money for xbox to reinvest into games and services and better deals for us the consumer i have one question for anyone who has a problem with this how dose a game being exclusive affect how you enjoy it besides console war bs ????
It weakens the next generation and current generation. If you can play Xbox games anywhere, but not Nintendo or PlayStation games anywhere, why buy an Xbox? The fewer xboxs, the more games that will skip the console. If you only own one console, it's arguably the worst one to own.
Its sad if they will go multiplatform but I still prefer playing on my Xbox because aside from exclusives on ps you can play almost everything on Xbox, and in addition you can also play using backwards compatibility feature, pc and games pass. To be honest I only used my ps5 for exclusives and the rest is on Xbox.
Matty! Your entire brand is that your partisan! Self help, food delivery! Fine! They will speak to and help certain people. But please, please! Don't peddle horrible mobile games! I love you and your decency and your honesty, Your the space I go to when I need a real perspective. Don't! We need you! Lot's of love
Obviously, Microsoft wants to be on every platform, but I don't see it happening. Nintendo is never going to allow Xbox on Switch 2, for one. Moreover, I fail to see how this is exciting. Competition is exciting. What happened with PS3, 360, Wii was very exciting, all three had things to offer.
I don’t get why everyone is so up in arms about exclusives. Xbox is actually being pro gamer getting their games to everyone instead of keeping them locked up behind a console pay wall.
XBox lost me as a customer when they 1st introduced the XBONE. So now XBox is competing against EA as a publishing house and not Sony as a console manufacturer. The only thing that worries me now is that Sony has no real competitor and Sony will screw it's customers without competition.
@jordywoody14 I could bite into that argument but honestly... the economy has changed a lot since I built mine, when Halo Infinite came out it was the first time my graphics auto set to medium quality and I heard death whispering in the corner, coming for my little 1070 But because of graphics cards specifically you might be right
More people being able to play the games I love isn't a bad thing in my eyes. I'll be sticking to playing them through GamePass myself which right now makes the most sense for me on my Series X. If it makes more sense on PC in a few years, then that's where I'll play. I wish more companies gave me options like these.
What’s upsetting for me is that Xbox had a terrible 2023 and they kept saying wait till 2024 and then they push the good exclusives to 2025, now right when all the good games are coming out they’re basically making the worst business decision.
For those people claiming Xbox hardware will cease to exist. Explain to me why Valve bother releasing the Steam Deck, which only sells a few million units? Most Game Pass subscribers are on console. Third-party releases give 30% to Xbox for every sale. So, again, why is Microsoft going to give up on hardware? The scaremongering is ridiculous.

Square Enix has made very clear that just selling their games on one platform is not enough - game development is too expensive for that (well - except mobile gaming given the fact that mobile games are cheaper to make and the market is way bigger).
selling his soul

Stop being a fan of hardware and just be a fan of great games like the good old days.
The good old days had Nintendo vs Sega, then PS vs Sega vs Nintendo, then PS vs Xbox vs Nintendo. I guess if we go back even further then hardware only mattered because of how good a port you could get but even then we had the Atari dominance for a small time.
I'm done with consoles after this gen. Strictly PC going forward.
Idk why it took Xbox owners this long to finally get it. Once Xbox went day and date on PC ppl should've abandoned ship. Better late than never. I'll always be a console guy until they stop making them so ps and Nintendo is all I need.

The CEO of Microsoft is like that grandparent who will always call any of your consoles a "Nintendo".

I’ve never understood the console war. The consumer benefits from competition
You can literally emulate Nintendo tf u yapping
Without competition the innovation will stagnate. Sony is already capitalizing upon it.
Xbox's meta strategy - chase the next trend and miss the mark - has been a failure since Xbox 1 and the 'does everything box'. This'll be the same.
Is this what they made 23 billion dollars tf 😂
Microsoft was ahead of the trend with the Xbox one cuz everything went to internet of things, Alexa and hello Google on everything just like they predicted. People just weren't ready for it.
Exactly
@ I agree that is a possibility. It would be a compelling product of they can execute well AND support it.
Steam console at best will be niche
Living room dominance! I fuckin love it!
This is the current situation. Xbox out, Steam in. PlayStation will be the middle ground between Handheld, Console, and PC.
My game room is 95% Xbox and I will never buy another Xbox. They have ruined the brand.
That television you watch, that kimono you wear…they’re all Xboxes
You moving to pc? That's a xbox!
This comment was typed on an xbox.
Yeah xbox is gonna have to put steam on the next xbox to get me to buy it.
Welcome to the PC master race. You can get the Xbox games and more and more PlayStation games too. If it's not enough, get a Playstation as well. But currently both consoles have concerning tendencies.
As a playstation user I am hyped for this but have to say it worries me that Xbox could stop doing hardware because I know what that means Sony will be able to do
Man we are here already xbox aint been competition for sony in a decade the ship has sailed
They'll be able to charge you whatever tf they want with you having no alternative options

It's the end. Why would you buy the next Xbox if you can play everything on the next PlayStation?
X box is not exciting anymore :(
They need to fire the people making these decisions.
This is 100% a non-issue. Exclusives just propagate more console wars bullshit
Amen
Yep, however now you own none of your games. Because all this is digital. You will have fun until the servers glitch. You will own nothing and be happy.
A game gets backlash because it offends someone, well they can take the game down and it takes your copy too. If you have a terrible release like concord come around? Welp now you loose the game access because xbox doesn't want you to have it. Oh a license expired for a classic game or gta IV is no longer backwards compatible because music license issues? Bye bye gta IV.
They fueled competition. It's no wonder people are ditching consoles for PC now that consoles only have simplicity to offer.
Way to early as is the case almost always with Microsoft.
Almost bought an Xbox a couple years ago, but I am so happy I didn't
You will buy one in the future. I promise.

was going buy one in boxing day sales been waiting for good game to come out dont think i bother now stick with ps5 only wanted play halo anyway
To be fair, this might work out for Xbox as it did Sega. All they care about is software. The quality and decisions with their studios are questionable, but I'd rather see them be upfront.
Nintendo beat Sega in the last console war. PlayStation beat Xbox in the current console war. The next console war will be between Nintendo and Sony.
Sure, but as a consumer it sucks that there may be only one console on the market. The Switch exists, but it is in its own space.
@rafterman5072
They're still making more consoles so what are u talking about 💀
Yeah, they're basically following Sega's steps, There's way more money to be made as a publisher than selling consoles, look at the TakeTwo for example, they got their Rockstar money printer and the only thing they do is leech off the profits.

Even computers are just a Frankenstein of parts from 30 different companies

i dont see any of this as bad honestly.
Unless Xbox gamers are willing to actually start buying these games then they have no room to complain, and the same goes for PlayStation
Exactly you have 30 million consoles out right now it's a no brainer to get Sony fans to buy your games Sony is to big right now to fail

Break the chain
Didn't think Xbox would end themselves and turn into the next Sega, rip.
What do you mean? Sega is healthy AF. Both Sony and Microsoft are third party already
@@glowinTHXSega used to make consoles over two decades ago before the Dreamcast flopped and they moved to publishing their games on their competitors systems. Many compare Xbox to their past.
Sega has been third party ever since, but they're good at it.
Xbox is going to become a hybrid of Sega and Valve/Steam, two of the most successful software companies (and Valve makes steam deck and upcoming steam consoles so the hardware part is also still relevant to xbox)
"People on other consoles get to buy, play, and enjoy the same games I enjoy?! No!! Nooooooo!!!!"
Exclusivity is bs anyway. They all need to get rid of that nonsense. I don't care about exclusivity at all.
Why just because xbox can't do it anymore it's served the industry since the 80's
@@afieldingafif Sony decides to only make their published music playable on a Sony device would you be okay with that? What about movies? Can’t watch spiderman on a LG tv. Why do you want that for games it’s weird
xbox was at its best when it has tons of third party exclusives and times exclusives during the 360 era exclusives do matter
The PC player in me says "cool, release it everywhere." The OG Xbox player in me says "release games day 1 only on the Xbox platform (console and Xbox app for PC. 1 month later, release it on steam and other PC store platforms. 6 months later, release it on PlayStation."
So you only want games locked on to your system of choice? That hurts your experience somehow?
I won’t effect me now
But when next gen comes, it definitely will effect my decision on which console to get
An Xbox that can play Xbox first party games and some third party games(many still skip and don’t put their games on xbox) and NO PlayStation first party games
OR
A PS6 that can play PlayStation first party games, Xbox first party games, and most third party games
The best choice no doubt here will be the PS6
And don’t try to say “they have game pass” cause we have seen that the majority of gamers don’t care about it despite how great it is and they would instead buy their games
I genuinely don't understand why people can be upset about games being available to everyone.
Know how Nintendo survive d? How playstation became the leader for over 20yrs? Exclusives.
@@rashaddow I'm telling you lol. Nobody is mad about games being on other platforms. If were all for giving up Xbox exclusives then Sony and Nintendo need to give up there's to Xbox and PC. But that's not going to happen because they know that's why people buy their products.

“Xbox” is becoming an unnecessary middle man. Hence the need to purchase the entire industry. It will be Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft as the only publishers soon. This is how Microsoft does business. Happy to have them as an American company, sucks for gaming technology.
This is a massive COPE spew from Matty. This isn't some bold strategy from Xbox.. It's desperation. They've been smashed into submission.
If Xbox is a joke and has no exclusive then so is Sony. Pc has them
@@djstef4549as a person who has all the consoles and a good gaming PC, personally I feel like Xbox is less useful than a PS. Reason being PS so have games that won’t be released on PC until at least a year later (eg. Final Fantasy). Xbox on the other hand as of right now don’t have any sort of exclusives. That does not mean the PS is miles better, as soon as the games get on PC it is also useless.
@@djstef4549 what are you smoking PS has a crazy amount of exclusives and more appealing exclusives than Xbox for a long time.
We could either be at the end of the line or a generation away from having consoles all together.
Buying a pc or a ps 5 is the way to go. You will be able to play all the exclusives.
That is more meaningfull than gamepass.
I disagree nobody has that much money. This is why GamePass is so important.

No material impact on active Xbox users. Earth to Microsoft: I’m not going to go get a different system just because you put a few games on the competitor. But I will def reconsider what I buy in the future…
Speaking of physical copies, I wish XBox would bring back Platinum Hits. They could get a company to make a limited run of discs for past popular games that could be played without an internet connection. Discs could be ordered online like controllers if they don’t want to mess with retailers.
As a PC gamer seeing how Sony and Microsoft are treating these boxes as simplified PCs that require subscriptions, and putting all their heavy hitting software on steam as well it reassures my decision to make PC my primary platform in 2019.
As a long term XBox fan & customer it pains me to admit, that i'm leaving the brand for good. Honestly, i've had enough of ups & downs, empty promises, the Lies Of P & most terrifing forcing the nowadays typical western mindset of ideologies into the media. I really don't understand why the hell you all cannot see what's going on... I already commented it on a previous video, Matty. What happens is that all the new games are just social experiments designed to collect data from the user, and Microsoft's business is 90% selling or reusing data stolen from users. It doesn't make sense for them to sell consoles or even to sell games. They just want you to play so you are monitored while you play and they can study you. If what I say it's true, then in the following years we will see a drop in game prices, and an extension of the xbox game pass system to all devices, perhaps also with a decrease of the pass price, which will allow them to collect massive amounts of user data.
30 million people who overall are used to not buying games is not very enticing
@alex1212456 I don't know where this notion that Xbox players don't buy games came from. Yes I have game pass and I play games in the service, but I still buy multiple third party games every year. I just bought Star wars outlaws, mafia trilogy and Outer Worlds Spacers choice edition for myself for xmas. Kids under 20 have an attention span of 5 minutes
There is a much larger societal-based reason to explain why the youngins these days are brain-addled but I'm not going to get into that since youtube already has it out for me and censors half my comments to begin with
Cloud gaming technology is the future. For me it runs flawless

Man the salt amount of salt from ponies and xbots is sad
There is now literally no reason to invest in the Xbox ecosystem. Why buy an Xbox over a PS5 now? Serious question coming from an xbox fan...and no, gamepass isn't the answer. Long term i genuinely believe this will be bad for Xbox, losing users to other ecosystems means losing all sales through their store from Fortnite Vbucks, third party games and more...which is the majority of income on a platform.
All platforms have exclusives, ever..single...platform.
Halo will play better on PS5 pro anyway 😁
Idk LOU remaster part 7 looked pretty rough. That was a ps3 game

PC gamepass and a PS5 is the play from now on. I hopped on the Xbox PC app a 3-4 yrs ago and haven't looked back. I still love the ecosystem but if you have a capable PC, PC gamepass is the best value in gaming
The only thing I want from them is the ability to access my gamepass saves in other storefronts like Steam.
That would be great, but a lot of games do let you manually transfer the saves from Gamepass to Steam using certain tools/tricks.
This is fine me I'm 100% ok with no exclusives it means more money for xbox to reinvest into games and services and better deals for us the consumer i have one question for anyone who has a problem with this
how dose a game being exclusive affect how you enjoy it besides console war bs ????

@jordywoody14 ill use my money on how I see fit. I'm a tech enthusiast, so I buy anything that interests me.
When he said that it was the worst console generation to lose he was right, because everyone is too broke for this regular new console shit now.
Speak for yourself.
It costs way more for a good PC though
@jordywoody14 I could bite into that argument but honestly... the economy has changed a lot since I built mine, when Halo Infinite came out it was the first time my graphics auto set to medium quality and I heard death whispering in the corner, coming for my little 1070
But because of graphics cards specifically you might be right
More people being able to play the games I love isn't a bad thing in my eyes.
Exclusivity was always anti-consumer, so I am happy that now even Sony is breaking that ice.
Satya “the crypt keeper”. He will forever be remembered as the one that killed the soul of Xbox.
This is a very long reach for them to avoid saying they cannot make enough money off of gamepass alone …
Why would they make all of their money out of Gamepass?
