Whether you like King Diamond's voice or not, you can't deny that he has a unique vocal style. He doesn't sound like a thousand other vocalists.
Sometimes he sounds very haunting with the harmonized parts.
He sounds like Bee Gees
If you don't like falsettos, then you just don't like metal. Even Corpsegrinder considers King an influence!
If you really think about it, KD has the quintessential vocal style for metal.
Actually he sounds like the cliche falsetto metal voice. It’s not good

The Abagail story is one of the best concept metal albums of all time! I wish it could be made into a mini movie and feature all the songs on the album. How amazing would this be??? The story is told so eloquently through the songs and lyrics such a masterpiece!!!!

I was born in 94’ but goddamn i wish i was alive during this period of music. It gives me life. I did my part for the music scene. I booked over 500 metal and hardcore bands in boston area. I really wish i was part of this scene and the original badasses. But im still trying to live my 26 year old life as close as i can to my dads generation hes 20 years older than me. I barely missed the true era of rock and roll metal and the best bands ever. All HAIL MIKEY DEE!

KD has some great music, look at each album and read the lyrics and u'll find its just like a story. he's truly one of a kind

It is not that hard to hit those notes, it is called falsetto. A bit harder to do it well though in song after song :)

+rob roy He is actually using pharyngeal head voice. Basically pushing a falsetto note into the head register. He is basically switching between full voice and falsetto. He is using a different technique to get to those notes. Think of Barry Gibb from the Beegees but in a higher octave. Same technique, yet this guy gets shit on for some reason

King Diamond are truly one of the bands of all time. The vocals are made with someone’s voice. The songs are songs that you can hear with your ears. They have albums. Definitely are one of the bands I’ve heard.

Been a fan of his since I was 8 years old now I'm 43 and still a huge fan!
it took me a while to get used to his voice, but now I think it sounds so awesome and adds a nice effect to the music.
I think its crazy how agressive he can sound while being very melodic and theatrical with his vocals at the same time. His vocal harmonies are very haunting and melodic. This type of singing isnt often heard in Metal music which makes KD very unique. Most people are used to Rob Halford esque vocals. KD has an even broader range but uses a different technique for his high notes. Same technique you would hear in R&B music like the Bee Gees.
