it's safe to say east coast is DEVOUTLY biased to yipes. or rather people are blind to acknowledge the level CJ is at now compared to the early days of, say, FGTV. his execution was never in question, rather his decision making, which has also improved IMO.

to be honest, as a marvel player myself, i also have that happen to me multiple times (where you go for a push block, and ur not in blockstun), so u get a cr. M or cr. H, and it looks like u got 2 of those in that set.. dont get me wrong im not hating, gratz, thats a huge win. whether u win by an inch or a mile, a win is a win
Yipes lost because his magneto didnt apply the right pressure. Magneto strings should be tridash l then crouch a few times tri dash again. That way he wouldn't have gt hir bt the random pushblock that cj was constantly mashing on.
If he had played his Spencer team Yipes would have never lost to CJ and Noel. All the Helm Breakers from CJ that bodied Yipes's Dante would have been useless against Spencer's up grapple. He played his Dante team despite knowing how ass it is because he simply stopped giving a damn now that he's in EMP and isn't fighting for BT like he was in the past.
Yipes got impatient, it looked like he was the better player but he just got impatient...no reason for CJ to start "flexing" if he did in fact do that...especially after these matches where Yipes pretty much dropped the ball...smh I want to see a FT15 between these two...THAT would really determine the better player
Yipes had a lvl 3 XF Magneto vs a Doom incoming, and what does he do? Back off, zones and rushes in when the XF is about to run out. And he doesn't deserve to get punished? He didn't even lose to yolo foot dive, he lost to a punish on slide and a punish on Magnetic Blast.
you got that first match in my honest opinion. But in the other matches it was more of yipes dominating you. and yes he did get a random happy birthday on you but he was already winning the match in the first place. Im just little salty cause all the mix ups and set ups and combos in the world that yipes can pull off will never matter because of a yolo foot dive happy birthday x factor win. It just doesnt seem right. the commentators were very bias but you were getting worked man.
CJ did good. Why ppl hating on this dude? I see him improving a lot. His Magneto is looking a lot cleaner. He really needs to work on his Doom though. It is obviously his weakest character.
Basically Yipes lost because his Magneto is garbage and he had no idea how to play the Magneto/Doom matchup. Any good Magneto would have known that you need to throw disruptors/Magnetic Blast to force Doom to come in on you, and you should not try rushing in on Doom. Had he been playing his Spencer/Vergil/Hawkeye team it would have been Hawkeye vs Doom and an easy win for him, he also would have been able to up grapple helm breakers.
Yipes mix ups were not clean considering how free Vergil is on incoming and he had lvl3 xfactored magneto twice and lost to reg doom yipes gotta step it up Cj is no slouch and he shoulda known that
Cj practices all day everyday, because he lives in a house with other players doing the same thing. Yipes lives with his woman and barely plays outside of tournaments.
After the rushdown he was giving cj and taking control of the match and then getting XF happy birthdayed and getting yolo foot dived two or three times during the set? he probably shouldve gone in but hes playing yolo foot dive. maybe cj is better who knows, but i can't sit here and honestly tell you that cj outplayed yipes. i didn't see that.
I think it's time for us to accept yipes just isn't as good as we want him to be, no disrespect to CJ but yipes is just not consistent or reliable. We can make up as many excuses as we want for him, but he just isn't there, this isn't even the first tourney he's shown this in. You look at justin, chris, heck even combo when he still played and they were pretty much a guarantee for top 8 in every tourney they entered, while yipes just always finds a way to lose.
Yipes should aim next tournament to be top 64. lol. i like very much his Dante but man his suck. also he should stop putting all of his frustration on Chris G when his comments on him.
