Started watching your videos recently, they're always entertaining. I think the MvC2 cabinet (which i bought) and imminent release of SF6 are really bringing the fighting genre around again. I mean, it's peak youtube. Keep up the good work legend.
This is so cool Ray. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that went into making this style of video. Never seen this format and it's so clean and easy to understand. You've outdone yourself with this one bro.
I agree. Besides Jwonggg, I believe the winner here is also Rayray. The depth of knowledge and wisdom for him to explain it at this level is amazing! Attention to detail indeed! I would have loved it if there was more explanation towards how Justin figured out that micropixel space to punish the barrage of attacks. All in all, great video! Thanks for bringing us back to this moment Rayray! *standing ovation*
This is such an amazing breakdown of one of my favorite matches of all time. Being in the crowd that close to the stage was a surreal experience and you brought back so many good memories. You also knocked it out of the park with the breakdown section! I loved Wolverine and Mags watching a screen, the breakdown of common fighting game terms, and how deep you were able to dive into both teams. Easily one of the best Marvel 3 videos I have ever seen.
PapaLobster u are sick aswell bro the umvc3 content im seeing in 2022 is phenomenal and i appreciate u ray ray and tns for carrying the scene this year
I've watched Justin for so long yet I never really thought this deeply about why his team works how it does, this was amazingly informational and among my favorite UMvC3 videos I've seen!
Only 3 minutes in and I am already blown away by this video. I'm genuinely speechless. This format of in-depth explanation and editing needs to become more popular. As someone that has never played a second of Marvel, you made everything feel so instantly understandable; I think this is just the format the FGC needs to get newcomers in. You earned my sub, please keep up the amazing work!
The marvel 3 and SF4 era of fighting games just feel like home. There were SO MANY names, so many teams, so many personalities. It just isn't the same anymore, be it the games themselves and the players.
I agree heavily sadly. I loved the 3rd strike era. And i was dissapointed at first with sf4 art style. But it was a great game. Focus attack was amazing, and we had some great matches / personality. Cross counter was at it's heyday. Marvel 3 somehow turned out to be amazing and a worthy sequel that i had so much fun with. Fchamp had his fgtv house and it hosted some great matches. Truely things wont be the same :(. Maybe with SF6 things will change, and it has a decent system. I just wish they had air parry. Marvel 4 would be great but i don't think we're getting it.
I have tried for 11 years to find an articulate way to explain to non-players how intricate this game is at this level. You have gone above and beyond to not only showcase with intellect how deep this game is, but also proven why you are in the top 5 of all time Umvc3 players! Great work
This was a landmark moment for the game. For the longest time, people had been waiting for Justin to finally take an Evo at UMvC3 after dominating at MvC2 for so long. I remember, in the lead up to this, Offcasts had been talking to us that this was Justin's year and I remember agreeing-even in the face of an FChamp who was looking to be the first 2-time champ and ChrisG who had started his run of dominance. But for some reason, we all thought that it was Justin's time and that he deserved to regain his place at the top of Marvel.
mvc3 was my most viewtime in FGC tournaments. I remember watching this live and so happy for justin for repping his team for so long and getting results
Just had to leave a comment to tell you how much your intro and extra commentary helped me appreciate this match. I've never really understood MvC beyond the real basics, so this was much appreciated. Thank you!
Wow, I was struck by the eloquent and elegant choice of words in your commentary and team intros. I've been watching jmcrofts and Papa lobster for fgc history analysis but I am definitely adding you to the rotation as well!
In honor of this masterpiece: whenever I’m in a dire situation, but refuse to quit, I gotta utter the phrase “We do got demons!” lol. Also, Yipes hit it on the head “High level play, I’m enjoying myself right now!” Sincerely, Ray. The passion you put into this shows and is appreciated. You were (are) always one of the legends. Nobody as smooth, creative and consistent. Love watching y’all play and testing myself to better because of it.
Great breakdown man. I remember even my teacher from HS was hyped for this evo for marvel. The edits look amazing and if you do more of this kind of content I’ll be hooked more than I already am
This is an awesome video. Great production with the right amount of editing and the fact you were able to explain the events mid-match without pausing it or slowing it down is excellent.
When I saw the title I clicked on the video so fast to dispute it but then I saw it was RayRay and knew I had to shut my mouth. RayRay can't be wrong 😂
12:47 This was when two realities were created. The one we experienced, and the other one where Ryan spent 1 bar to kill Storm. Not sure why he didn't ensure the kill here as he was up 3 characters to Justin's 2 (if he had killed Storm) and the likelihood of building up another bar for Dark Phoenix was still very high. Justin did his own commentary on this match and he called this moment Ryan's huge mistake.
This video is beyond gawdlike! Ray Ray legit out here scaling that eSports mountain with Marvel on his shoulders, yelling as he climbs, "Marvel will never die!"
This might be one of the best breakdown videos I've seen. I personally loved how you took time to explain the main characters being used and the strategies both players were going for. I'd like to see more videos like this!
Such great editing and narration! Your love of UMVC3 truly shows. I was mind blown 🤯 too like everybody else when Justin did that DP super 🤣! Another match that's not as well known but fun nonetheless to cover is Sacktap's Iron Fist team beating ChrisG in I believe the SCR tournament. The first match heh.
The first 6 mins of this video explain what is going on to casuals like me. This is a lost art on UA-cam. Super well done. I'm excited to finish this but that part alone made me have to leave a comment. Great job!
Amazing. Perhaps make this a series of just your favorite sets? This was such a great watch, had my popcorn and everything and I was sad when it ended! Ray, keep this up PLEASE!!
This video is absolutely amazing RayRay. This is the best mvc3 “content creator” based video I’ve seen. I’m a long term MvC player and I would love more stuff like this. Even just analyzing old sets, old money matches.
This video was sick! I have a hard time keeping up with Marvel 3, so having someone break down everything happening in such a good and entertaining way really helped me enjoy such an insanely cool game and match!
I’m not even a pro at playing fighting games but I super enjoyed watching. Thanks so much for the spectacle. It was like being in the tournament finals itself! 🙌🏼
This genuinely one of the best videos I have ever watched on UA-cam, insane amount of time and effort and one of the best analysis I have ever seen of anything
Fantastic video. This is my all time fav set too. Game 3 was almost 3 minutes of nothing but neutral. The whole set was so tense and the ending was superb.
As someone who doesnt know much about mvc3, the way u explained how each player went into the tournament set made me be able to appreciate it even more. Awesome video dude!
F Champ may have had some issues here and there (putting it as neutrally as i can) but his MVC3 gameplay was always such a pleasure to watch. His neutral game is so, so good. And Justin is...well he's Justin Wong! You don't need to say much more tbh People don't put enough respect on the neutral in marvel, people see the 300 hit combos, 100% touch of deaths, infinites and shit, but great sets where two players are spacing each other out like this , the mix, the spacing is just amazing
Oh I just love Our gaming community. Your commentary and how you said "neither player resembling themselves" Was so On point/Top notch because this was a battle Of the brain/smarts. The Drip in the fighting was so crazy, like damn..🤙🏾✋🏾🙌🏾
I was about to skip the video, and THEN you start breaking down all the mechanics with a detail and pasion, I just sat here I watch all the way until the end. Amazing edit
Truly outstanding, both the match and your video. Thank you so much for braking it down so that a casual can really understand just how epic this really is, not just by its end, but the full understanding on why it was.
moments like these are why i fucking love fighting games and the breakdown of it to help us less informed understand how it all happened is just the icing on the cake awesome video man
Superb video. Mahvel can be a confusing game , but once you peel it layer by layer and you finally get to see and understand the beauty underneath, it's an amazing to thing to watch/play.
This was an awesome analysis video. I’m pretty unfamiliar to UMvC3, so having it be both accessible and insightful is a huge help for understanding the gameplay, and it was a fantastic match
I watched this match years ago and it was hype then and it's still hype watching it now here. Both Justin Wong and Filipino Champ are my fav players, love to see them play on such a high level! This was a informitive video, thanks for the intro explaning the stratagy and terms.
This video is so good. Minor thing to point out, though: 18:00 - meter gain is based on damage dealt before damage scaling. You do more raw damage in XF, and so, they gain more meter. The fact that she was a tiny hair away from 5 bars when justin didn't XF, doesn't mean she wouldn't have 5 bars if justin had XF'd. She almost certainly would have, so Justin made the right choice there.
This video was SICK! Marvel 3 and Tekken 6 got me into fighting games, and you were my favorite player. Who knew this man had a sick video editing game too?
This video is OD Ray, you seriously outdid yourself here with this analysis. This was my favorite EVO for marvel 3 hands down. Nothing compares to the Big Two era
Not even finished with the video yet but that strategy section was so well done man, would love to see more of this for other important matches in MVC3’s history!
Great fucking video my guy. Wow. Everything from the character break downs to commentary. Would love to see others in the fgc content universe take notes. Thank you for this and amazing video!
Great analysis and video man!
And good job just of you having SSS tier awareness to make that final play.
Give that man a runback for the culture!
I just burst out in a nervous laugh when I see that finale.
Bro taught me how how to play the game in less than 10 minutes
Started watching your videos recently, they're always entertaining. I think the MvC2 cabinet (which i bought) and imminent release of SF6 are really bringing the fighting genre around again. I mean, it's peak youtube. Keep up the good work legend.

I was in the crowd here live to catch this hype-ass finals as well. Definitely one of my favorite memories of all time
Totally agree!!🙌🔥🔥🔥

This video is beautiful. The effort and passion you put into this video and your love for umvc3 shows
He sounds way too professional well spoken in this content...I wasn't use to it but accepted it.

Don't forget KOF 13
New generation, I feel you...
Word, I would never miss a SF4 and MVC3 tourney. Now? I've barely seen any SF5 or MVCI tourneys.
Agreed. What a time it was
I have tried for 11 years to find an articulate way to explain to non-players how intricate this game is at this level. You have gone above and beyond to not only showcase with intellect how deep this game is, but also proven why you are in the top 5 of all time Umvc3 players! Great work
So sad infinite dropped the ball
"All great things must come to an end."
"Storm is no more. It's over, it has to be" I love that. I like that selection of words, like it was destiny.
The editing, narration, analysis…..all from a world class player… thank you to Ray Ray, a true Mahvel God.

I still remember his tweet after GF, "I saved Marvel!"
Yes he did.
mvc3 was my most viewtime in FGC tournaments. I remember watching this live and so happy for justin for repping his team for so long and getting results

Bruuh this video is godlike. The team break downs and the sentinel tool tips were PERFECT.
This set is amazing. I always go back and watch it from time to time. Good stuff Ray.
This is an awesome video.
Great production with the right amount of editing and the fact you were able to explain the events mid-match without pausing it or slowing it down is excellent.
10/10 video - obviously there are only a handful of iconic games worth covering but would love to see this format again
Just discovered your channel. Seriously man, great job. Production and analysis are better than any other fgc channel Ive found.
The breakdown of each player's gameplan was so solid I have never in my life understood more what two people wanted to do in a match. Awesome video
When I saw the title I clicked on the video so fast to dispute it but then I saw it was RayRay and knew I had to shut my mouth. RayRay can't be wrong 😂

Nexus Event
Phoenix is such a double edged sword. I think Dormammu would have fared better for fchamp.
This video is beyond gawdlike! Ray Ray legit out here scaling that eSports mountain with Marvel on his shoulders, yelling as he climbs, "Marvel will never die!"

Love everything about this video, the nostalgia, breakdown, commentary! Amazing!!
Holy shit thank you SO much for explaining Marvel for me. I have no idea what is going on but I love this game so much. MORE PLEASE.
yo the passion in this was REAL! Who wrote the script!? So colorful
super cool video!

This is perfection. Would love to see more of this style and level of analysis for more amazing UMvC3 matches.
Jesus man, this video was a treat. That breakdown was phenomenal. Well done.
crazy that 6 of the 8 finalist still play. this game aint never gonna die
Amazing. Perhaps make this a series of just your favorite sets? This was such a great watch, had my popcorn and everything and I was sad when it ended! Ray, keep this up PLEASE!!
The breakdown section was excellent. Nice work!
0:08 EVO 2015 champion KaneBlueriver
I know this takes a lot of effort, but it really shows and I hope to see more of those from you in the future! Amazing stuff!
Great stuff ray! Content for marvel in 2022 is still alive!
This video is absolutely amazing RayRay. This is the best mvc3 “content creator” based video I’ve seen. I’m a long term MvC player and I would love more stuff like this. Even just analyzing old sets, old money matches.

Ray this is fire. Production and narration were great, especially from someone who understands the game at such a high level. Please do more!
This genuinely one of the best videos I have ever watched on UA-cam, insane amount of time and effort and one of the best analysis I have ever seen of anything
Without a doubt one of your greatest videos of all time Ray.
MOAR like dis pls.
This is passion. This is how you make a video. Literally made me relive an absolute insane moment in FGC history.
The way you described Wolverine and Mags character descriptions is great. Never thought of Mags as a blank canvas, amazing.
Love your effort Ray, what a well made video. This was so God DAMN hype at the time, thanks for bringin me back.
Mahvel forever.
I love the way that you build context before the begining of the fight!
Great video!
🙌✨Wow, the pre game information and all announcing and comments were incredible!! Really helped show this clip for what it is…. Amazing!✨🔥🔥🔥
I did not expect video essay quality on this. Hella dope and great job.
F Champ may have had some issues here and there (putting it as neutrally as i can) but his MVC3 gameplay was always such a pleasure to watch. His neutral game is so, so good.

thanks for doing this, Marvel history should be celebrated and not to be forgotten
Great analysis, great editing, great pacing, this has it all.
Well done boss and thanks for all you do to keep this game alive.
Bro that breakdown in strategy was everything, good shit Ray!

This is one of the best produced FGC videos I've ever seen. Exceptional work! Thank you for this.
The production values on this video are off the charts!
LET'S GOOOOOO!! I been waiting for someone like you to do Marvel content like this.
Naaaah you snapped on this video. Excellent content
This was an awesome analysis video. I’m pretty unfamiliar to UMvC3, so having it be both accessible and insightful is a huge help for understanding the gameplay, and it was a fantastic match
Very well written video essay. Love the analysis.
I watched this match years ago and it was hype then and it's still hype watching it now here.
Both Justin Wong and Filipino Champ are my fav players, love to see them play on such a high level!

Ray, I think you found a series ma boy! This format is something i've never really seen before, very creative.
Awesome video! Perfect amount of analysis and context to really appreciate the gameplay without getting too lengthy.
This video was SICK! Marvel 3 and Tekken 6 got me into fighting games, and you were my favorite player. Who knew this man had a sick video editing game too?
This is probably the best breakdown video I've seen on a match
This video is OD Ray, you seriously outdid yourself here with this analysis. This was my favorite EVO for marvel 3 hands down. Nothing compares to the Big Two era
Dope video man. You guys are a big part of my life. The whole 2010’s were amazing for marvel
watching this breakdown i did not realize how ridiculous both players' defense was great vid
This production on this was honestly godlike. Awesome job.
Ok ray I see you
AMAZING video, great commentary of a historic set and I LOVE your voice
only 4 mins in, and its one of the best presented umvc3 vids ever.
Excellent choice and FANTASTIC play-by-play analysis to boot...Well done, bro!
Match breakdowns to understand this game from the POV of top players is something I been FEENINNNNNNNNNG for
Fantastic narrative and fantastically narrarated. Love the video man
I always go back and watch Max's top Evo moments from around this time. Sf4 and marvel 3 era was some of the greatest fighting game content ever
Not even finished with the video yet but that strategy section was so well done man, would love to see more of this for other important matches in MVC3’s history!
this video format is sick, hope to see more in the future
This is such a solid video. I'll never forget seeing Justin use that DP super live. Great stuff, my guy.
Yeah I've watched a few of these kinds of videos but this was awesome man. Perfect blend of footage and commentary. The suspense was great
I need more videos like this! The analysis, the commentary, the breakdown! Yo all of this is peak quality, keep it up RayRay 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This format is insane and the scriptwriting is immaculate. Great video RayRay! I'd love to see more of these!
Great fucking video my guy. Wow. Everything from the character break downs to commentary. Would love to see others in the fgc content universe take notes. Thank you for this and amazing video!
Watching this so many years later and I still get the shakes. Marvel 3 is EASILY the most hype game of the new Era of the FGC.
That was excellent watch. I would love to see more classic matches analyzed. Nicely done
This video oozes passion. Marvel 3 is on another level when it comes to the emotions it brings out.
The demo sections with the white background are really, really good.
