The reason why they created the game show was to teach Americans more about geography, since they did a survey that showed that not many people knew where Russia was

Actual fact and still an issue today in some schools, also the game show had to scrap some episodes cause when the Berlin wall came down and suddenly there were several new countries, disclaimers for older episodes were added into the credits to indicate the change as well.

Holy Crap, this show is impressive and animation is amazing.
oldest games were text based mystery games. Each city had 3 exit cities and you got a clue where the suspect went and had to use geography or trivia to figure out what the next location was

I love this show, I didn’t expect to like this so much. The animation style is gorgeous, I like the voice acting, especially Carmen’s, even the action is very good.
I don't like her friends. They're extremely goofy. But other than that everything is spot on.

This is the same thing with Voltron, people complained about how its nothing like the original and such but they forget that it's for a new generation to watch and enjoy, not a continuation of the original.

For exemple what spark the klance hellhole was the fact that lance and keith arcs are closely related.
Lance's arc wass to become the hero that he originaly envisoned him as being thats the sword and why the sword and his conecting with keith so keith could respect lance leadership, since keith arc wass to open up to pepole a learn how to deppend on the team ho sadly they never did well his carcther flirted a lot with the chosen one trope and due to keep the klence shipping captlizeble istead to stragth up this relation the keep it up open so keith finished his personal arc but not his arc as a teamate, ho keep him as the leader and impeaded lance arc as hole resing him to the position as alura's bitch, ho in the end made a weaker team composition. The season 8 wass a dumpsterfire but wasant the season itself fault but rather trying to smash togeder a alura centric season a war season and the season fianlle itself.
were because the roots of vtron in tokusatsu (super sentai to be more presice) would need to be a season about the team as a hole like season 2 finale, but as i said the team wasant realy good anymore because ot fail to have a foting of its how with weak leader as keith. So in the end shipping derailed voltron because it wass easy short term money in the bench and dreamwork coudnt resist it.
Yeah but then why use the same name and characters and story? This Carmen Sandiego is a reimagining, and a pretty decent one. But like the new She-Ra they should have just come up with something new, and stop leehching off the brand recognition. If it's not supposed to be for the people who actually grew up with it, but for kids who have no idea who she is, why use the IP at all?
If one doesn't want direct comparisons, not using old brands that older gens will recognize and critique would be a good step.

This Carmen Sandiego is like the Spy stuff of Kim Possible, Treasure Hunting Odyssey of Indiana Jones, the stealing back from corruption of Robin Hood, with an art style that makes me think of those old Erin Esurance Commercials.

I now just realize that the whole story is flipped on it's head because originally the player would be tracking Carmen down, but now he's the assistant. Did this series break a 3rd wall.

if you watch Carmen's old shows you'll know that the new series makes nods to her past incarnations. Player, Zack, Ivey and some of the villains come from "Where on Earth" and the chief being a black woman is a nod to her Game show counterpart since the "Where on Earth" Chief was a white male. Some of the game show villains also share designs with the Netflix ones.

Dude, this show is my favorite *ever* . The animation style is amazing!! The theme song alone has the most beautiful shit I have ever seen!!! I have played the game, and I know it strays from the main plot. But I think of this as a new idea that isn’t dumbed down for small kids, or too violent for adults. It’s perfect for me, a 13 year old. I feel this show is criminally underrated and needs more attention and love.

I wonder why did you decide to watch exactly this Netflix cartoon. Don't get me wrong, Carmen Sandiego is a pretty good cartoon, but you've never talked about The Dragon Prince or She-ra for example, I wonder why's that.
Btw the educational segments in CS are really strange to me. Never seen an action show with educational segments.

It could be a backstory series, cannonly, according to the old show and later games, she was a good guy before she was a villain.
I think this is a different dimension or spin off, because some of the things are very different, like how she was adopted into vile instead of founding it in the remake.

I JUST NOTICED OMG
Honestly such an amazing adaptation form Netflix (for once). I got hooked on Carmen Sandiego and it's so amazing. Though (storyline wise) it isn't quite like any of the originals, I reckon it's better as a while. The characters a fresh, the animation is gorgeous, the Australian accents are shitty (As an Australian, I love), the soundtracks are great and the show has a super hot French guy (I want more Chase in this show he hot af). I will admit though, I was a little disappointed when they tossed Gray aside and used a pretty lame excuse for it, but at the same time I kinda understand where they were going storyline. But I still wanna see more Gray. I've rewatched it for the 8th time and I can't wait until they release the leftover 16 episodes, since Netflix has bought 20 all up. I hope after releasi g the rest, Netflix considers buying more. The animation is like no other I've seen with its lineless art and amazing pallets. I love everything about this show, from incredible character designs (Paper Star) to backstories and hot detectives (Chase, not Carmen). I need to stop rewatching the show, but it never gets old and boring

The animation was really cool, I fell in love with the art style. I liked the scenery and the voice actors too. In all it was a really great first season and I'm excited for more skksksk
Netflix are doing some really enjoyable kids animation show. First the She-ra reboot and now Carmen. Brilliant stuff!
Morally grey Kim Possible. Amazing storyline, informative for children, incredible voice acting which is genuinely surprising, and the animation is beautiful. 10/10 recommend watching. ❤️

This animation style choice is the best, we need more cartoons like this and hopefully this ushers in a trend. More stylized, less calarts! I know that's a blanket statement but everyone sees it!

The key aspects of Carmen are still present. Being a kind gentlewoman thief, being a master thief, and being against to killing or harming people. Those aspects have been present in every iteration. In every iteration she is also morally grey, same with the 2019 version being more of an anti hero. As she still is a thief and does a lot of illegal stuff while evading the law.
The netflix series is BEAUTIFULLY made, even if it has a strange spin on it.
I really loved the last episodes fight scene
1-Bit Bang I especially love how she didn’t win it herself, and it makes the repetition of her constantly winning and nothing going wrong make sense because it adds up to this moment.

The plot, animation, and character designs in this show are amazing.
This show is awesome definitely recommend its so good though I feel like the last season was a bit rushed but it's still really good.

I really like the show. That's all I have to say.
Honestly I love this show. When I first saw it on Netflix I was one of those people who went “Hey! I remember that!” The story’s engaging with some cool twists and turns. It’s still got that educational aspect that parents love. The animation is nice, almost like something you see on those travel pamphlets brought to life. And the whole backstory of her being a rebel from an evil academy turned globetrotting thief working against said academy is pretty cool too.
Okay seriously Val ascking for a gory Carmen Sandiego is like asking for a violent Magic School Bus.
(They actually show animal gore in the MSB Dinosaur PC game)

Watership Down. It's not as violent as the movie but it did let it's PG rating away at all at illustrating
just how dark, scary, and brutal life for these rabbits is. And in CG animation no less!
Watership Down (the book) terrified the heck out of me as a kid. We were talking about books that used to scare us and when I mentioned it my mom was like "huh? the sweet old classic about rabbits?"
I found the book again to prove my point and the first random page I opened it on began with a character screaming in agony. Good times.
Fun fact: Shadowsan (the samurai character) is voiced by Paul Nakakuchi, the same voice of Hanzo from Overwatch. How both characters speak is near-identical as well
I THRIVE for the art style, purely gorgeous. I'm still watching it and genuinely love zach and ivy. Tho how player is on 24/7 is kinda weird but ✨️✨️✨️

I love it. It _did_ remind of Samurai Jack too. I think it’s pretty cool that Carmen’s sort of a Robin Hood figure in the Netflix cartoon. The first season was pretty good. It would be interesting though if she becomes evil again and becomes the leader of V.I.L.E.and the whole show becomes darker and more violent. That could be what season 2 will be.
I only watch the original animated series when it was on Qubo and the hub.

Her origins had the world's best detective. ACME's best detective. Eventually for a challenge, she became a Mastermind Criminal and took over the Criminal Underworld. The series might still go in this direction when she solves all the mystery around herself.

I actually watched this yesterday on Netflix Its actually interesting I watched 3 eps well it was late night till I fell asleep I wasn't bored of it I just fell a sleep cause it was 2am I went to Netflix & it came out of nowhere lol it only has 9 eps the series in development still hope we see more of this year I never heard of this series or I didn't know it had a series I thought it was new to 2019 first appearance in cartoons on Netflix

Played the game back when computers were MS DOS 😂. I got excited to discover this one in Netflix and loved it! Got a bit nostalgic. I introduced her to my nephew and am glad he likes it.
They made really good plot twists, and I just like the series in general. Nice video.
Edit: I agree it would be better with some blood and violence, I was surprised when Paper Star’s paper things didn’t even scratch Carmen.
