If you are into tools and equipment related to lawn care. This is the place for you. Unboxing, quick looks and reviews of lawn mower, line trimmers and any thing else you can think of. No brand is off limits, Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Masport, Ryobi, Scag, Ego, Milwaukee, Makita, Dewault, Toro and any other you can think of.
I have quite a controversial suggestion ... The deer are eating your rye grase which you obviously don't want ... The veg patch is filled with old veg & weed grasses ... So ... Why not leave the Veg Garden Gates open for a few nights & let the Deer mow it down 🤔 then once cleared the chickens can scratch it over & eat any grubs! 🌺 Susannah
I feel like they would destroy the beds. I like the suggestion though
The last thing you want is for the deer to believe the veggie garden is for them. You should repair the anti-deer fence before planting anything, or they will eat it all.
Good boy? You haven’t got a rooster for goodness sake. Good girl. Pick them up for a little cuddle. Mine follow me wherever I go around the yard and let me pick them up whenever. Their eggs will be lovely after they free range and eat the bugs. You can tell the difference for sure, especially colour. And it is normal for them not to lay as much during winter.
Yes they are all hens
Oh Tim, this video was too much fun! I did not realise how suburban you were until you started talking about whether something was a carrot and how to harvest it! 😂 It is going to be quite a journey for you to grow some vegies! Looking forward to the process!
😂
Funny how someone else’s life is so much more exciting than the crap on tv. Thanks Tim for all your videos. I look at to them 🇺🇸
Pretty sure the plant you pulled out of the garden is Italian parsley.
Nicole swears it’s a parsnip. She did taste it
Nicole is probably right then, the leaves look very much alike on older parsley plants. It will be interesting to see what you’ve got in the garden. Can’t complain about the free tomato plants either. As a rule the self seeded plants are usually more hardy and resilient to different conditions.
The sight of Tim shooing his chickens is UA-cam gold. If it's not a meme by now it should be!! lol Chicken content is so calming and satisfying. Great video Tim, thank you.
Give those chicken some 2 weeks all day long on the raised bed enclosed and they will clean it for you.
8 chicken 1 week maybe.
Remember they will "destroy" grass and weeds but they will also fertilise the soil with their poop (organic nitrogene).
Make a little house for them inside and they will work for you.
And yes if you don't cut their wings feathers they can "fly" hooping a certain high, not too much though but about your waist high or so.
I am loving watching you love your farm life. It's so nice of you to let us in on your journey. The chickens are beautiful.😊
Thanks Sue! They are having a feed in our mini orchard right now
I grew up on a chicken farm.....this is hilarious 🤣 😆 😂 😄 Should be titled " City Folk and their Chickens".😅😅😅😅
It looks very much like parsley
The chicken dance may catch on , new version of the birdie song 🤣
As i said before Tim, youll get the alpaca next, they'll protect your hens from foxes, farmers here in the northern country Victoria use them a lot,
I think the plant you pulled is parsley
She swears it’s parsnip. She did taste it
This was so much fun to watch 😂🙌😂. 🕺🐓🕺🐓
The deer need to go. Environmental pest.
If you are shining a light at the deer, you’ll never get a photo. Set up a trail camera by the coop to see who visits. The chicken herding was pretty funny. Thanks for that.
Interesting vid. Just fence a veg bed in and put the chickens in it for the dy and they will weed it, till it and fertilise it for you way better than you guys can do yourself as they will also get the weed seeds as well. They are the best gardeners around that way.
Deer hunting time 😁😁
You need to cluck Tim
Chickens in the old veg garden. Theyll dig it over and fertilise the beds.
Yes, chickens can fly. Forget the dance, just pick the chooks up and carry them
Ahoj Time !!! Byl jsi Time v trochu jiné pozici než jindy👍👍🐔Jana🐔😅🖐
Nicole was right...definitely only six days. Assuming that is that you would have said on the Saturday that you'd had them for one day...logic says Thursday is the sixth day. Have you not yet learnt that your missus is always right. :)
G'day Nicole & Tim,
You need to teach Kevin to be a Chookdog 🐔🐔🐔🐔🐶 so he can heard them from the Coup to the Garden,
🐶Maggie gets too busy doing Zoomies around the farm 😂
Spot on 😂
Really enjoy watching the fun you are having. I have a red deer that spends a lot of time at my property. She has had a baby here for the last three years and is quite used to me and will also graze out in the open during the day.
Funny that some of them have male names when there all females
Cole Trickle - great nod to Days of thunder
Hilarious chickens attracted to the light they're not big moths Tim
I think you would make a good beekeeper Tim... easy enough hobby too... get some trail cams and strap them to a tree... detect motion, don't have to be there... see what else might be coming around too...
Watch out for foxes come early afternoon/ dusk if the chickens are out! Also if they stop laying eggs you will know they are stressed and something is spooking them at night! Also for the deer get a trail cam you will see when they swing past for a visit on the rye!
Good idea!
Why do you call two of them boys names and him? They are all hens, aren't they?
Need to plant some Rhubarb 👌
Parsnips are awesome. Boil and mash with potatoes.
I heard you don’t want to do anything to the eggs don’t wash them and do not refrigerate last a long time
Watching this was really fun.
I planted a whole lot of seeds for my veggie patch today. No idea if I'm in a window, but Darwin is basically the same all day. It's 35° nearly every day, and it's either raining or it's not. Now I wait and see if anything actually grows. I have no clue what I'm doing. Looking forward to your veggie videos. 😁
Good luck with it!
Grab yourself some fly larvae, they’ll follow you anywhere. But super impressed, normally takes them a little longer to go home to roost on their own. Col trickle is a born leader looking after his girls 💙
He sure is! 😂
Maybe when it’s time to roost they will go back on their own
I am loving this Tim great fun 🤩
Try putting up a trail cam to catch the deer on camera.
That hi vis needs Mello yellow
Put a trail camera to catch all wild life
Just a thought, but egg laying chooks are 'female'
.
Are they tho?…
Ummm, yep. Roosters are the males.
@@turfandtools 😂😂😂
Hens are females.
Best vlog by miles. 😂❤
🤣😂
Set up a few game cameras
Is it Greg the stop 🛑 sign?
Get a game camera.
Get a game camera
Put a trail cam up for the deer.
Doesn’t exactly stop them though?
@@turfandtools if you want to stop them, go buy eco pellets ( compressed chicken shit) spread it on the grass. I promise you they will not graze there, and your grass will grow like crazy, and it is environmentally friendly.

You would tell in a jiffy your eggs are yummo
Oh deer! They will be back
We need a Trip to Bunnings Vlog so you can buy your gardening tools
Enjoyed your video with the chickens. ❤️🐔 Nothing better than fresh eggs. 😊
Love it Tim. 😍🐔
❤😂🎉 lovin' it.
Soo funny.
There aren’t two Fridays in a week 😊
Correct
You can clicker train chickens to follow you and do tricks
They are already getting better at chasing the snacks
You realize they are female , male names lol
Are they tho?…
That is one of the funniest things I have seen in awhile! Chicken ballet may catch on! Thanks for the laugh!
They're the cutest things
Regarding deer, I saw a good suggestion just below. The trouble is if they do get veg access, it will probably encourage them later. The chickens, on the other hand, will not only scratch it but also help fertilise it. PIR motion sensors that trigger either strobe lights or flashes can help scare deer. As can PIR-activated water sprinklers, which would give you free lawn water at the same time.
I love the chicken release, though. You've also got enough land to have a few pigs or boar. They could eat the vegetable scraps.
If you want them on camera, then set up a PIR-triggered night one. You could maybe stick that on top of the chicken coup??
I just organised to get some cameras for the chicken live stream. They are also night vision so hopefully it turns out well
Use a Leaf rake for herding chickens, 😅
They are getting better trained by the day
You absolutely should do a blind taste test. ❤
Step 1: Get the deer on camera.
Step2: Get the pesky buggers on your plate.
Theres no Step 3, just enjoy your free venison.
I’m no hunter
@@turfandtools Well I'll be happy to take them off your hands Tim, unless you're planning on using them as Mowing Assistants 😁
What a laugh your chicken dance. I also think the deer may clean up the old veg patch
I think they would destroy the whole thing
next episode we have deer steaks
😍😍😍🐓🐓🐓😍😍😍
Trail cam time
It’ll be good to have a light up in the trees facing down, that way you could catch the deer wondering, also having a trail camera set up too for footage.
