I do think Alolan Ninetales should be on the list. With the snow rework, it makes ice types a lot more useful buffing the defenses, which makes Ninetales a little bit of a tank... well for ice type standards which ain't much. Combine this with Aurora Veil and now your team is very hard to take down. IMO the best hail/snow setter (rip Abomasnow), plus a decent enough 109 speed it does its job well.
Yeah it is a great mon. But I feel regular Ninetales has been an important sun setter in multiple tiers throughout the years so the base was still good. The other mons ahead of it I just felt were improved upon more to warrant them over ninetales on this particular list
I remembered it had a small niche as a steel trapper (specifically heatran) so I didn’t include it in the worst. But it wasn’t good enough to get a mention
Galarian stunfisk actually hurt me mentally because it's such a cool concept but they act like a bear trap isn't strong and deadly🙄 gave it such a unique niche that it literally can't do it
i dont play competitive but i make a poison point to get an Alolan Muk whenever i can, its too good not to use, only one weakness and hits kinda hard while putting fairy and psychic types in their place, what's not to love? also, it can learn ice punch (or ice fang, i cant recall) to counter ground types.
I was so psyched for Galarian Rapidsash, but I have thoughts: 1. It’s pointless to give it Psychic type too. 2. Wish it had some stat better to give it actual viability competitively 3. What’s the horn for? For stabbing! Gotta love a unicorn that looks magical but is actually a physical attacker. It’s just fun.
i love galarian rapidash, but its really underwhelming. pastel veil should make it imune to all poison moves. and maybe take 10 points from sp. atk and put on speed it would be nice. this wouldnt make it broken or anything, but would be a cool improvement
Well, most of these had been pretty bad in vgc apart from like, Muk and Marowak. Unfortunately this is especially true for Darmanitan, who’s bad bulk and lack of spread damage made it pretty bad. And yeah, for belly drum sweepers we usually use something that can still take a hit, like Cetitan for example. That doesn’t invalidate this list at all though. My favorite regional will be Marowak because it’s a really cool looking Pokemon and yeah, it’s pretty good!
Fire/Ghost types have yet to miss. Every single one is an absolute BANGER. (Especially the Regional ones.) RIP avalugg though. I think they are the one Pokemon Arceus canonically hates.
@@MattBudYT yeah. Not choosing Fuecoco because "I always use a Fire/Ghost" type is not a bad problem to have lol (funnily enough I still wound up using a fire/ghost pokemon in my playthrough lmao)
I’d personally move duggy to a higher spot, maybe 1 or 2 (the downgrade to a technical uber to this is crazy) and swap tauros for Ninetales. That’s kind of it honestly, great list.
Duggy is definitely a disappointment but I feel that stems mostly from its ability. In doubles arena trap isn’t as good, and it is banned in singles. So I gave it a bit of a break. But it is definitely bad enough to be on the list, I just think it is still more useful than the other mons even though the downgrade is technically worse than say Stunfisk or Raticate.
Honestly, I don’t get how typhlosion is an honorable mention, it’s ability is worthless, it’s slower, and less bulky, it’s only benefit is 2 new immunities, other than that? It has no use
Fake Out immunity on an Eruption user, better offensive typing and special attack, 5 speed drop isn’t a big deal when Typhlosion was mostly used for its damage output It’s an upgrade
Ghosh gives it solid immunities and resists including x4 to U turn. Ghost stab is notoriously hard to switch in to and along with strong STAB fire this mon is a bit harder to handle and more versatile. It’s not amazing but I feel like it’s a pretty good upgrade. It wasn’t as good as the mons I mentioned before but I at least wanted to shout it out on a slide for a second.
It’s because it is a new mon technically. Like Clodsire, it isn’t eligible for this list. If it’s name was Hisuian Weavile then it would be able to be on the list
@@NellvinCervantes-gt4ot so by that logic Delibird is better than Sneasler since its ice STAB destroys Gliscor? Not a good argument since there is going to be a mon that resists any dual STAB

Yeah some of them. I like Duggys design actually and could get with Stunfisks design if it had a more fitting design and ability to go with it. Mimicry I get, but some trapping based ability would be a lot better.
To think they would go all the way with the My Little Pony Theme for Galarian Ponyta & Rapidash and not touch the actual thing that has made regular Rapidash so underwhelming-it’s stats. Even an extra 5 points to its speed would have made a sizable difference. Pastel Veil needs to be buffed to make it completely immune to Poison moves.
Just saying, it makes sense & I can agree with your opinion however ya could’ve just said “let us down big”, not trying to be the word police but proper vocabulary will lead to higher credibility & in my opinion ya should’ve caught that one on the editing table
It’s an actual word you know? I don’t normally use it but it fit the rhythm of the sentence in a fun way I felt. It was popularized by Trump’s usage back a bit so it’s kinda a fun little addition.
