Great series of videos! One thing I fo for marking RBIs, is a tick mark starting on the upper right of that at bat. So, if there's a runner on base, and the batter hits a HR, I'd give that batter two tick marks for the RBI of bringing the runner and himself home off that hit.
Outstanding video/series so far. I am definitely a basic player, but I might have to step my game up after watching these videos. Thanks again...can't wait until Part 5.
Around 12:00 you mentioned Ioke taking 3rd on a SB a couple times. Actually he stole 2nd and took 3rd on the error. You said it both ways, just wanted to clarify. I like this series, well done.
cheers ! I really should pick this up again. Once my 'to do' has gone away I think this will be one to pick up and enjoy sharing again... Super Advanced !
Keep up the great work. These videos have been tremendously useful to me. As a newcomer to baseball, your explanations of the sport are helpful to those such as myself who are too embarrassed to ask ;)
Ricky Royal Hey Ricky just a heads up, if you play this and want a way to track your stats and league info for tourneys and stuff. Check out Gamechanger app on android and iOS, just got it and have logged some really cool stuff.
Ricky Royal Yes and no.... It shares to the GC.com database which syncs to all devices on the account. So if you were an actual coach or something parents could lifestream the game and see the stats (pretty cool). But for our purpose you could use it for a tournament, which i am currently doing for the Hall of Fame players (9 team double elimination). It tracks all the stats for the league and team, then after you complete a game it gives a sick game breakdown. So for me it just makes it "real" plus all those league stats officially there so i can pick a MVP and stuff.
The first to third attempt was the right thing to do with one out even though he was thrown out at third base. The rule of thumb is NEVER make the first or third out at third base.
Always like your playthroughs. Now you may have sold me on this game. I went to their website, but one question for you. Which version did you buy? You may have said it in one of the videos and I just missed it. Thanks.
11PONCHO11 You want the "current edition" ( I got the 2010 season current edition). But it doesn't really matter...depends on which teams you want to start you off. Latest current edition has 2014 world series teams Royals and Giants. You also get a voucher for 6 free teams. You might also fancy the Hall of Fame edition... I would love this one next. www.strat-o-matic.com/products/baseball-current-edition-game
11PONCHO11 Get the hall of fame, you can make 9 full squads of pure gold! i love it! Also search through eBay for teams from the past that you like so then it really peaks your interest. In my case i bought the 2007, 2001, and 1999 LA Angels for like 2.50$ each. (Cheap) and they had ALL the players on them. So now i can do like a tournament between the Angels and stuff. I will say (to keep it brief) that i had the 2007 Angels face off against a Hall Of Fame team with Ruth, Mantle, Berra... Lets just say it was 10-0 in the 6th. Haha the game is pretty solid on making them play realistic.
New to SOM and enjoying your videos. Couple of questions. Where did you get the card sleeves? Really like the idea of the cheat sheets you have for the offense/defense. I know they are all in the rules, but can you provide what all was on the sheets?
todd636 Good questions :) The sleeves are Rexel Nyrex Card Holders 127x76 mm from Amazon. The cards for offense/defence, I should create a pdf and post a link. I'll do that... sit tight.... !
Hey ricky Thx a bunch for the tutorial sessions. But i really miss one example game with advanced rules. So, do you thonk u could record one and put it in as video no. 5? I would really appreciate it! Have a great day, swimm4ster
Instead of moving the cards around so much, just keep the entire lineup as a stack of cards in front of you, moving the top card to the bottom of the stack as each player completes his at-bat, and revealing the next player in the lineup. You’ll save a lot of time. And as for Aoki stealing, that would be scored “SB-A-T2” Stolen Base-Advanced on Throwing Error-Catcher; it doesn’t count as two stolen bases.

Nice tip Kiefer. I tried it but I couldn't figure out how to use it properly... seemed to want to upload the scores to a shared database ?

@@BoxofDelights How soon?
Did you cover pitcher fatigue in this video ?
Ricky Royal, do you use catcher's arm rating to calculate safe chance of stealing home in Advanced game? Thanks in advance!

Do a full game!!
