How do you get a pass ball and foul out in the same play? A pass ball means the pitched ball gets past the catcher with no contact being made by the batter. In the case of a foul out to the catcher the batter would hit the ball and pop it up to the catcher who would catch it in foul territory behind the plate.
Each “play” in strat is a single at-bat, not a single pitch. So during a single at-bat you might have a passed ball during which a runner on base advances, the batter stays put, faces another pitch and fouls out.
