For stripped out screw holes in wood, fine saw dust works better than sand, and won't dull up your drill bit.
Thanks for sharing!
exactly what I was thinking
Cotton wool + superglue
I’ve always used sawdust and plain wood glue. In the field, one we had stripped nuts or bolts, and an emergency, will you pick up a little coarse sand from the job site and put them on the threads to make temporary Loctite
@@christosvolikakis1523 as a development enginerr we had access to tubes of "liquid metal" some sort of superglue alloy mix, even used to patch holes in engine blocks and various brackets. Not widely available in retail, lol.
Te felicito compañero ..Tienes gusto por lo que haces ,no lo llamo trabajo por qué lo haces con mucha pasión .El que sabe goza y el que no destroza .Un saludo desde Tenerife

This fix is so simple and amazing! Never consider sand and super glue to fix where a dog chewed up my window seal. Thanks and I live in Texas in the USA!

Sanding sand with sand paper, I think that may tear a hole in the time space continueium.
Well, it did the job. It worked.
lol yeah just what i was thinking how do you get sand so smooth.
My thoughts exactly...
Q wil show up somewhere somehow to correct the continuum issue, hè doesnt care mich about spacetime though.
Точно! А вот сверлить песок сверлом-тоже откроется чёрная дыра в пространстве…
Those are fabulous idias
I like the fact you take time to show what's going on clearly. Some hack vids are such a crazy speed you have no idea what you're watching.
Yea there are about a half dozen types of Loctite Super glue which one is it. I have never had ant to hold this good

A tip from Ukraine: instead of sand, baking soda can be used
Baking soda works great. 👍
SLAVA UKRAINI 🇺🇦 ♥ 🇺🇸
Yep baking soda is what I use ,,,also you can use cotton wool to fill a hole then add superglue

Super-Glue or Cyano-Acrylate, can be bought from Zap-A-Gap, and comes in thick gel, medium regular, or Ultra-Thin (best), they have a "double cap" to prevent hardening in the bottle. . . cyano mixed with any aggregate (sand or steel wool) works with time to evaporate, but works faster when damp, not dripping wet. . .When mixed with cellulose (cigarette ash, fine sawdust, baking powder) you get a fast chemical reaction generating heat that will semi melt plastic. My favorite micro-plastic welding trick is to drip a puddle on target, and use slivers of styrofoam egg container as like a mini welding rod. You can pick your colors and semi-match parts on model kits. . .
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Have a good day!
Are there any videos of this technique?
ah yes zap a gap... im an arch student and we used to all get a little dizzy before a review from the zap a gap fumes... but its a great and cheap product

We have been using this technique in the reefing hobby for the last couple of decades to glue the rocks together to create the aquascape looks natural this way
👍👍👍Thank you for watching
Please don't use sand to fix holes like that in cabinets that will fail in a couple times you open and close it! Would be better off using sawdust and super glue or just a couple toothpicks snapped off inside the hole!

Some great ideas there! What's the purpose of the last project with the coffee tin and the moulded pvc pipe?
It's an example of how you can use the sand and a heat gun to mold the pvc around an obstruction, say this can if it was a pillar or pipe you needed to work around. 👍
1/ how to get around an obstacle that is immovable -I guess, or
2?
how to fill a pipe with sand and be enabled to bend it because the sand is in there and won't let it deform on you when bending it ( an Old steel workers trick when a pipe-bending device is not available,
Thank you! Cheers!
The question has been answered. The objective & trick were not obvious until I recalled memories of buckled tubes & pipes.
1 thought: I thought the can was used as a bending form. (instead of a piping obstacle.) It gave me the idea that I'd use 2 smaller cans to form the bends on each side of the obstacle. (Or: Use 45 or 90 degree elbows at these points.) The wrinkly pipe in this demo is better than buckled pipe, but it's not great craftsmanship. Also: wrinkles may restrict flow and increase flow noises.
These are great ideas! Thank you so much for sharing!❤💡

Using sand paper to sand sand. Sorcery.
Instead of sand, I use baking soda. Starch with silicone becomes like plasticine and can be molded with fingers.

Try super glue and powered charcoal. That's what we repaired helicopter blades with in Vietnam when they had rifle bullet holes in them. It hardened like steal.
Hello! thanks for your recommendation. Wish you all the best!
Looks like this could be a useful and cost effective way to repair potholes on roadways imho.
NO , SERIA MUY COSTOSO , Y SE QUEBRARIA MUY RAPIDO , EL PAVIMENTO TIENE QUE SER ALGO ELASTICO QUE AGUANTE DILATACION Y CONTRACCION

I am somewhat of a glue nut (I've never used that term before, ha). When in Thailand, I'd buy epoxy by the gallon. I'd use it for putting together an outdoor rock climbing park - with zip lines, and top-rope anchors in limestone karst. Often, I mix cement with carpenters glue - for all sorts of construction applications, including tile work. It's half the price and twice as strong as pre-mixed glues in hardware stores. To join metal without welding: thoroughly wrap the joint with baling wire. Think like a spider. Then slap epoxy on it. I'm 71, and just built a 15 ft high, all steel water tower, solo, using bolts and, at some other joints, using the baling wire thing. It's rock-solid.

One of the oldest tricks in the book. Superglue is like cement. It creates super-strong bonds to other materials, but is not very stable itself. How can you change that if you need to fill large gaps with cement? You add sand to the cement so that the cement can adhere to the sand instead of itself. The result is called concrete. The same principle also works with superglue. But instead of sand, you can also use fine plastic shavings, the result is even better.

Vous êtes un bricoleur hors pair🎉merci et bravo.

You did a good job with the video. For repair of holes, wood chips, door jamb repairs, etc. I usually just use Bondo, unless I can’t wait 12 hours to drill and move on.
I use the heat gun trick frequently for hose adapters for dust collection, but never had the need for bending the pipe like you did here. I simply use angle adapters that are very inexpensive and you don’t have the wrinkled pipe.
Your video, however, was very interesting. Thanks for the ideas.

I love these "homemade machinations". In Hungary it is called "sufnituning" (sufni - 'shed, (wood) chamber'. It's a take on the Bavarian-Austrian schupfen form of the German Schuppen ('shed'). :)
