I would love to see more powerful tablets in this form factor. Specifically for on the go gaming and productivity.
These games runs better than my ipad 😅
That's what I keep saying I would love to actually see Samsung or any type of mainstream mobile electronics company develop a gaming tab especially something in the realm of like 10 inches mostly 10.1 to 10.5 because I don't see myself holding a 7-in tab even if it's in gaming form
But yes I do want to see something like that especially something that I could run call of duty at ultra high settings as if I were running it on a high quality gaming PC
The reason I say that is because I want to see if certain tablets especially gaming tablets can actually run some form of source filmmaker
Or MMD at high spec ratings
I love the 8 inch form factor for tablets. I think it's the sweet spot with screen size and holding the hand ability. It's a neglected space and it's nice to see a proper tablet show up here.
When on the go I like this type of gaming setup the best. Classy and chic as long as the tablet have a powerful CPU chip. Just chuck a controller along in the backpack and you are good to go.
I went to samsung s7 from an older 8 inch tablet. I definitely prefer the smaller form factor for "on the go use". Also ebooks are far more enjoyable on the smaller, lighter 8 inch. Hopefully these are still available when my S7 dies.
Really cool to see gaming-focused tablets still being released. I had the Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet back in the day with a Shield controller which was great but is now very dated hardware. I'm currently using a 10.5" Samsung Tab S4 but 120Hz and a smaller 8" screen would be sweet, as well as built-in controller touch screen mapping.
Tab s7 is where it's at
@@chriswright8074 the Tab S8 is actually more worth it in the long run, 4 years of OS updates
Phones are great but also far more personal and with storage being use for much more important things for life and work, while a Tablet is multipurpose and much more of a companion device. Plus Tablets have so much hardware real estate that could be put to use.
form factor is great. But you didn't talk about ZUI, any bloatware, the Chinese ROM, if notifications work properly...or much of anything aside from gaming.
Great review! I'm considering getting one myself to replace my current Mi Pad 4. Small tablets with 8+" screens usually come with lacklustre specs so to see this tablet come into the market is simply amazing. Quick question, how does the screen look like outside when it's exposed to the sunlight? Sometimes I watch media on the go and am concerned how the screen would perform when exposed to bright light. Would love to hear some feedback from you on this. Thank you in advanced!
I personally have one and it gets as bright as my wife's ipad mini 6. Really good brightness outdoors, plus great lowest brightness too in the dark.
@@AlvinAndreanTheVintager Yeah, the lowest setting is so low that I can't even bother to watch videos on that setting (but it's still great for reading and great for not blinding yourself when using it in the dark).
Hi there did u get it ?
Thank you for covering this! It's almost shameful how few outlets are covering this, since it's the exact thing many many people have been asking for for nearly an entire decade. This is the closest thing we will ever get to a next Nexus 7 or Nvidia Shield Tablet.
Not available in America, so what gaming outlet is going to cover a product that doesn't exist?
@@Trainboy1EJR it is available in America, just not officially. You're about 2 decades out of date on your reasoning there. It's so easy to import electronics. And, of course, with a tablet like this, it will ironically have MORE features in the USA due to Chinese censorship policies (you can use apps like Twitter in the USA on this device, but not in China).
And of course, I probably fell for a troll here, since you're literally commenting on an international UA-cam channel that's reviewing a Chinese tablet and has a lot of views (the very video you're commenting on significantly undermines your own statement for incredibly obvious reasons).
@@awesomeferret I'm only here because someone replied to one of my comments on a different channel, specifically telling me about this tablet. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but why would any actual media outlet cover a grey market item with no warranty what so ever that 99%+ of their readers wouldn't go through the hassle of even trying to buy? Also, don't most actual tech review companies work exclusively off of review samples, so why would Lenovo send a review sample to journalists of a product they have no intention to bring to market in that region? And better yet, why would the journalists cover an item twice? Once as a grey market item, and again for the official release? Should those outlets also review every India exclusive android phone that will never come to america? No, it would be a waste of time for everyone who read the article, and likely a thumbs down, because they just wasted their time reading about something that isn't available direct from their carrier.
Sure they could jump through a dozen hoops, but why would they do that for something that takes weeks to ship, and may not even work when it does arrive, then they are just out 500 bucks, VS walking in to best buy and buying whatever is available.
Most review outlets don't even bother to cover any prepaid phones at all. because people are just going to buy whatever is the cheapest or whatever is samsung, because everyone has heard of samsung before. There are literally ZERO reviews for Blu View 2 from any official media outlet, it is available on literally every prepaid network. You'd think atleast one would have reviewed such a popular phone, right? Wrong, there is no point, and that's before you even consider any underhanded tactics that the big companies could use to suppress a review of a product that costs less than half of theirs and is just as capable for calls, texts, and social media apps.
@@Trainboy1EJR I feel bad for you, because you made the same kind of mistake I often make. Again... The very video you are commenting on completely ruins your argument, since it's a video with over 140k views from an international tech focused channel that's not based in China. The very video you're commenting on is exactly what you are attempting to argue doesn't exist. And of course, the fact that smaller channels are a lot more likely to cover a device like this just puts the final nail in.
This seems to be a superb little tablet. For kids, and kids are the biggest market for tablets, it’s perfect. My son who is 10 explained to me why an 8 inch tablet is better to use for games because their hand are smaller but can reach the whole screen with thumbs while holding it when a bigger tablet isn’t so good. The problem though with smaller tablets is cpu power, making cpu intensive games a bit laggy. This is perfect but not easy to get hold of in the U.K. it seems.
Finally, a worthy adversary to the ipad mini 6th gen in terms of form factor. I love it
this is definitely the best form factor for a portable gaming tablet. Just got mine in and it works great!
I wish we had more devices this size. Honestly, i would even prefer a 7" version of this but yeah, really cool to see this one!
Been waiting for this device to pop up :D
I'm very happy with my tab s6 does what I need so far
Here's hoping someone finally releases a good wired telescoping controller for Android tablets. The Kishi and X2 seem great but then you're limited to a 6 inch phone.
Your content is always nice to watch
Lol you missed one of the bus stops sir great video, love the reviews and how to stuff.
I was waiting for this review. I have had mine for two months, and I absolutely love it!
Can i download steam and play dota 2 in it?
Where did you order yours from? I'm looking for other options besides the one he links above.
@@PeteOliva living in Hong Kong is easy
I was wanting this over the Galaxy S8, not only is it cheaper but I like Lenovo hardware better. I just wish this was as easily available here in the States. But I may just go ahead and order it
Just ordered this for a friend. She's into tablet gaming but big tablets are too big to hold. This is perfect for genshin and Mario kart, while being a good size for emulator stuff too. The speakers are great for movies too. Worth the price.
it wasnt a scam right? o.o
This is great , It's a shame there is still no quality telescopic controllers supporting it. It would make an amazing gaming and streaming device if so.
Thanks for the review, I really favor 8 inch tablet more than the bigger one. Because it's easy to go to everywhere and cute!! Unfortunaly, other 8 inch tablet naturally have low quality but not this one. I'm really impress.
Yes I have been so hyped for this tablet for some time now.
I had the Nvidia Shield Tablet. Which has been regulated to a clock/digital picture display the last few years as it's just too slow to do anything.
I love this size of tablet and was waiting for a true successor to the Shield Tablet. A gaming focused tablet with a 8 inch screen. This is that tablet. I'm just waiting for this to be available in the US but if it's not available by the end of the year I might just get it from AliExpress.
Great video as always, can you tell me what is that great live wallpaper your using?
liking the new intro. Very cool 👍
Yes ! Thank you !
ETA is tempting me to buy stuff I dont need again...
I'm looking forward to you doing an analysis of Black shark 5, I looked but I couldn't find it on your channel.
I love every single content you have provided, but just when i have given up all hope to find a modern tablet under 9 inches and you delivered!
You really like liars, huh? He has tested the tab s8 which is better than this tablet. He is fine with lying to you to trick you into watching so he can profit and you love him for using you.
@@thomgizziz Your reply is beside the point: the tab S8 is at least 11'. In the
@@thomgizziz idk what's wrong with you lmao, how is he lying? In the 8 inch tablet categories there's nothing comparable to this tablet other than the iPad mini. Plus this is one of the very few tablet advertised as a GAMING tablet. The S8 is never advertised as a gaming tablet. Never thought I'll see a low IQ comments here, guess I'm wrong lol.
@@thomgizziz is it under 9 inches? You kind of missed the point, and if this channel offends you, then just don't watch 🤣

If you don't like it then don't buy it isn't an argument against criticism. You should have learned that by now. Stop gaslighting people it is a bad habit.
8.8" display is perfect for a portable device!!!! What it must have is a pencil to go with it, yeah like an ipad mini to be a notebook set up too. There is a market there on android.
Still love mine. Planning on getting the 2023 version soon too.
Great, great video and great machine,I'm not a serious gamer but I real need a tablet of that size and that kind of display power for reading ebooks and comics, can you please include that on your next video!?
just wanna say ty for keep testing all these unique products and pushing them
that was the reason we all loved the early YT creators
they got so big dont test none of these now
i recently got a ser 4 from watching ur video and its a emulator monster
keep up the great work
Thank you for the review. I would love to see how Diablo Immortal performs on this tablet.
it's like the onexp handheld, which remains a relevant gaming tablet because of that perfect size screen, not too big or small!!! this lenovo is similar
That 12 gigs of Ram just sounds so nice! And gives you some longer life with it to be able to handle so much more.
Hey @ETA Prime, Here's a small hack for using Legion Realm in PC Mode. Add some simple app to Legion Realm (even something like a notepad). Connect to the monitor with the monitor in PC mode but the tablet in phone mode (i.e. not mirroring) and then on the tablet, open up the simple app, swipe down to activate the Legion Realm and switch to Beast Mode or modify the GPU settings as you wish.
This also means that you can activate bypass charging while using PC Mode on the external screen which is great for thermals.
Now here's three questions from me. Have you been able to get 60hz @4K? My current dongles are oldish and when I connect if I go to choose the resolution it has 4K @30hz marked as "(default)" and highest option. I'm not sure if that is because that's what my dongles are limited to or if that's the max the tablet supports. I can get 60hz if I drop the resolution to 1080p (heck, some of the resolution options go as high as 75hz but my tv is 60hz and nothing else). So yeah, I was wondering about that since at 30hz PAL content can result in judder.
How well does external keyboard support work for you? It's a bit wonky for me. It detects my Logitech bluetooth mouse as a keybaord. It works fine as a mouse but since it detects it as a keyboard it won't show the virtual keyboard when I tap on text input fields forcing me to connect an actual keyboard. Also, I've found that it doesn't play nice in certain situations (like the search field in pc mode under certain conditions).
Also, not your focus of testing. But the settings supposedly let you set fake backgrounds on the tablet which will then be used by videoconferencing apps, but when I try to use it, the videoconferencing apps (zoom, skype) don't display the preselected virtual background. Have you tried the feature (and gotten it to work?) It could add functionality for on the go productivity since notn all mobile videoconferencing apps have virtual background support (Skype doesn't for example), meaning taking a call in certain conditions can look less than professional.
It’s a very nice looking device and great review as always. What would be the best USB type C controller for this that hugs the sides? Thanks
Hi great review. Want to ask if you have a suggestion for usb c to hdmi cable? Was using one but does not work.
Finally a iPad mini sized competitor!!! If it runs games then I got the power to run o365, slack, ClickUp etc… love this size!
Look, I'm lucky enough to have had the opportunity of building a kicking PC during the indoor times, and that was a little stretch for my budget. What I'm looking for is a low end device that can handle basic emulation, but is more often to be used for Steam in home game streaming to. I wish I could pay $100-200 for this, and the higher I pay, the more I'd like nice to haves like Crazy Taxi, my favorite Dreamcast game, if that ran smoothly, it might be worth it. You have any suggestions for devices that could fit that criteria, or maybe one or two just outside that range, but worth it?
I have a Nexdock, which is just a screen +keyboard that I use with my Sammy phone/Dex. My two year old phone has a more powerful 888 in it, so I wish someone would make a nexdock-like tablet shell with this 120hz 8 inch screen. That screen will stay relevant and not outdated until we all switch to VR/AR in a decade. Every time I get a new phone I could have an updated processor. It could be cheaper, and even allow for things like x86 modules to plug in the back.
Or one day Sammy could release a trifold phone, also making an 8" tablet obsolete.
Finally, a review from you about this worthy iPad mini rival. The fact that this Android tablet has a headphone jack, Snapdragon 870 SoC, and PC Mode got my huge thumbs up.
Yeah I have said to him for a half year to try this out
Not familiar with the 870 soc but isn't a SD888 stronger?
@@snackyxchan yes but it's super in efficient and draw a lot of power and it gets super easily thierfor it throttles easily
@@gockartzz8272 i see thanks for the info
@@snackyxchan 888 may have faster CPU and GPU performance than 870, but it's way hotter. In fact, 888 always tend to suffer from throttling when overheat, unlike 870.
The functions are very satisfactory. App copy function. Speed. Screen size. Double vibration. The only disadvantage is that there is no gps. It cannot be used in the car
Thanks a lot for the review on this one, So i have been eyeing this on AliExpress for a while now, but didnt buy it till now for the reason that there are no good reviews of this one on youtube. What i would really like to know is how it compares to the Ipad Mini 6, as both of them fall under almost the same price bracket, would love to know your opinion.
Emulation = Android. Current mobile games = iPad. There is no denying the power of the A13 in the base ipad, A15 in the mini, or the M1 in the Air. But emulation is Android by a mile. iOS is locked down and no fun if you try to do anything they don't want you to do.
Please can you tell me the resolution of pc mode ? Is it 4k 60? I would like that to use it as a tv box too. Thank you.
Gotta say it's impressive that a fanless mobile chip can provide better performance than many lower-spec and powerhungry x86 chips on laptops! Very impressive stuff, and a good omen for ARM for desktop applications into the future
Any plans on testing the Asus Zenfone 9 with 16gb of Ram and the snapdragon 8+ Gen 1? I am curious about its emulation capabilities. It is a super compact phone and has some of the ROG Gaming Tools. Sadly it does not support display out though
Yes, would you mind please trying some switch emulation games on that device?
Hi ETA! Is there gamepad what you can use with this one? As a handheld, so you can hold it while gaming Fortnite. What is your suggestion? Thanks
Back in my day the Lenovo Y700 had an i7-6700HQ and a GTX 960m
Well you got me. I ordered one. 😁
How is it?
Love to see 7 inch beast that I can fit physical controller in to
I just got the Lenovo Legion Y700. The form factor and the power of the device is perfect to play PS2. Just add a BT controller, and you're good to go :)
I am using this tablet, mainly for playing CODM and watching movie / sport game, this tablet is very good, heat is not a concern, battery is enough for 4 / 5 hours.
Does it support stylus?
So this snapdragon is slightly faster the the one in the s8 ultra? I love the livewallpaper in the beginning, still can't find it anywhere. Great Vid
Hello thank you for this video. I want to buy this tablet but for pc mode is the cable included or i buy something?
Which microphone are you using to record your videos? It's super clear.
this looks like what i been wanting to get and at 349.00 it not so out of my price rage that i would not get it. Sent your reviewing i know it going be bad ass
Does it fit in any telescopic controllers like the iPega series?
this is the best size for a tablet. i miss my nexus 7 size. currently using a 10 inch one and i cant hold it for long periods unlike my nexus 7 . now just slap a sd 8 gen 2 on this size and ill buy one fast .
For gaming would you recommend something like this over the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+?
I currently use an 8 inch screen tablet and I find it a perfect size for gaming.
I LOVE this tablet but i don t like chinesse ROM versión.. amazing videos Etaprime... You are a master 👍
Did you ordered it with the global rom version ? Would like to know before i order one as your set up on yours looks great .
I love the full white controller, where did you get it?
i heard ads for the whole line up during algs apex legends global series and distinctly remeber the woman saying *lenovo legion* quite funnily.
We need more 8 inch tablet options.
Hi, tiny typo, you capitalized the O in "Gamecube and DOlphin Legion Y700" in the chapters when watching (the name of the segment)
not sure if this is where I should point it out, or just DM you somewhere, but I figured this would be easiest, sry
What's the maximum resolution and refresh rate it'll do for external output?
Was this the global version? Any plans on testing pcsx2 on surface pro 7/8 or go 3?
Hey, man. Great video. Since u asked, can u please test if Hearthstone is supported on this tablet?
I'm thinking on buying one for reading comics and play HS mostly.
Could honestly justify an android gaming tablet before a phone. The game selection has gotten pretty decent nowadays, but the phone just has so many distractions. A tablet gives me an option for a dedicated machine for on the go
@@bulletpunch9317 Phone will throttle from heat more. And in general you should get better visual and audio experience on a tablet, something that can't really be seen in spec sheet.
@@SkyYukiGuy Yeah, but generally tablets are only slightly better at dealing with heat due to how thin they are. That's why there's been increasing interest in the handheld gaming market in recent years, since there's a lot more room for adequate cooling and you don't need extra accessories to get actual game controls. Software-wise, tablet OSes are also hogged down by unnecessary bloatware to gaming, just like phones are (eg. cameras). They're literally phones in giant form factors, that's all.
I do think that this is a great tablet, but if I'm complaining about distractions from a phone, the same thing applies to tablets as well and if I'm getting a _dedicated portable gaming machine_, handhelds are still the way to go (especially with how their prices are getting very competitive these days after Ayn's Odin and Valve's Steam Deck were released).
※I'm not saying that handhelds do better in every way; they all have their own pros and cons (tablets are significantly better at media consumption and productivity than both phones and handhelds).
🙋♂️ @ETAPRIME will this work with the nebula nreal air ??? Nice seeing you test out everything with HDMI out for Android
Hello! I just ordered the same tablet (I've been eyeing it after watching your review.) And I'd like to ask, what's the usb c to hdmi adapter that you're using? Kinda scared to order online and then suddenly realize that it's not compatible to my device.
These specs plus Sim Card for calls would be perfect to replace my ageing 6.95" Honor Note 10
Over all what do you prefer Ipad Mini 6 , Y700 or something else in the 8 inch space. Thank you
does the display laminated on the screen or it has some air gap??? thanks in advance planning to buy one ..

Does performance hiccup with desktop mode due to pixels rendering on both screens or we can output to only one screen or does mirroring help? Thanks for the hands on review. Great walkthrough! 45 Watt fast charging
Fast charging? Yes. It has a Snapdragon QuickCharge 4+
Nice. I love 8" size but sadly options have only been severely low powered for years.
Of course there is the iPad mini but then you have to deal with ios limitations and basically zero emulation.
Wow! And a desktop move with video out!?
I'm going to pick this up for sure now.
You can do decent emulation with alt store and if you need more than 2 emulators ( delta is enough for most nintendont up to DS) then you might want Apple dev account. Android is definitely better though in this aspect but in case you are stuck with the Apple ecosystem and only want 1 daily driver
@@decki86 I used altstore in the past when they were asking $10 or $12 per year... Now they want $20/month which is ridiculous. Even when I paid I had to deal with apps being revoked and their only solution was to wait a week and try again.
Not going back to that nonsense.
Apple hardware is phenominal, but ios still a letdown
@@rokko_hates_japan yea agreed. i have both platforms but for those on apple, altstore is decent. it is free to use atm but you have to refresh yourself. a hassle from an android user point of view but better than no options on ios. delta+ppsspp is good enough for the allowable 2 self-signed free dev account.
The biggest dealbreaker for me for the iPad mini is the vsync issues (aka the jelly effect). There's no excuse for that in 2022, but here we are, an iPad sold in 2022 that's jittery and choppy just because they can't make vsync work properly. To be clear, they aren't the only ones. LG was nutorious for messing this up too back in the day.
How does Citra run on it? If you attached a GameSir X2 to this while holding it portrait, it would be a great DS emulator... and perhaps a great 3DS emulator as well?
TLOZ A link between worlds run 60fps with 3X native, Super Mario Bros 2 with 4X native
Ive look all over for something to tickle my fancy and it all came down to this….. is portable and very powerful what sold me was the fact that devices now a days arent all button based so it kinda has me sad but either this or the ayaneo 2 but the batterylife on that smh….. i love lenovo anyway
It's crazy how huge tablets were at one point. I remember during the boom I even had one made by Vizio that built like a tank lol. Glad to see the market for them isn't totally gone.
can you do a performance comparison between this and the ipad mini 6? thanks
Great video! Wasn't expecting to hear the words "gaming tablet" in 2022, but I want one!
Have you tried reducing the dead zones on that Gulikit KingKong 2 Pro for increased control and accuracy? Linus said on The WAN Show that that really makes a difference.

at just under 1000 CAD from Best buy , its not a bad competitor to an ipad like device. the super phone experience
I just ordered this, but honestly what do you do to max out 12GB of RAM? At this point I just installed moonlight and stream all my PC games to this device, paired with an ipega 9083 controller its just awesome. Not too big or heavy for a day of PC gaming.
