The American Museum of Ceramic Art is honored to present ICHEON: Reviving the Korean Ceramics tradition, an unprecedented exhibition organized by Icheon, South Korea. Icheon has a history of ceramic culture that began over 5000 years ago and has a reputation for its internationally renowned ceramics cultural events. Now Icheon has reached out to an American institution for the very first time. As the premiere exhibition of its kind in the United States, ICHEON will present over 230 objects never before seen on American soil that exemplify the revival of the ceramics tradition in Korea from antique techniques to contemporary innovations.
    About AMOCA
Founded in 2001 and opened in September, 2004, AMOCA is one of the few museums in the United States devoted exclusively to ceramic art and historic innovations in ceramic technology. It is located in an area abounding with ceramic history and internationally recognized clay artists from the Arts and Crafts Movement, the 60's Clay Revolution and the current Studio Pottery Era. Geographically, the building is located in an urban downtown district where art is an important element of the continuing and successful community revitalization program. The home community consists of a rich ethnic mix and a large academic constituency with approximately fifteen institutions of higher learning within an eight-mile radius.

    .............................................................
Great video! Relax! With bated breath I watch the work of talented craftsmen. Human creativity comes from God! Beautiful, ancient art that has retained its relevance and relevance to this day. There is always at least one ceramic product in every home. Even in ancient times, potters fashioned vessels from clay and fired them to make them hard and waterproof. Potters typically worked alone, although some had apprentice assistants. Fragments of ceramics are often found at archaeological sites, sometimes in large quantities. Archaeologists study these fragments to determine which culture they belong to.
Sometimes entire products are found with contents that are perfectly preserved without losing their useful properties. For example, the seeds of cereal crops, which after centuries were able to germinate. Marvelous! Archaeologists are excavating layer by layer to understand exactly when there were settlements in those places. Judging by the number of fragments discovered, scientists are also trying to determine what the population density was there and uncover interesting historical facts. The Potter's power over the clay helps to illustrate the power Jehovah has over individuals and nations.
«But now, O Jehovah, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.»( Bible). The product glorifies the master with its uniqueness, and man, the crown of God’s creations, glorifies him with his abilities!

this makes me really emotional because it's so beautiful and also because I know it's a dying art form and this won't be around much longer.

So long as there is a void, a question in our hearts, we will always have art in all forms. Technology can never take away the longing, wonder and searching innate in humans that push us to create art.

Naa. It ain't dying. People love to have designed pots in their homes. My mother bought two pots and placed them at the entrance. It makes your house look more aesthetic
