ANOTHER Hammered Silver Coin EVER Dug From our 1600’s COB Field! - Metal Detecting Rare Early Coins!

- So the time has finally come! Last March we were metal detecting a super early farm field where we were pulling some of the earliest pieces we've ever found on US soil. Four hammered Old World silver cobs were dug up; along with 1600's pewter buttons, 1600's and 1700's copper coins, Spanish silver reales, early pilgrim shoe buckles, and more! Well shortly after we discovered this location we just as quickly had to give it up for due to farming season and crops going into the ground. Well now ten months later the last of the soybeans were harvested and we have access again and pick right up where we left off, and what a restart it was! More super early copper coins, more old buttons, and not only more HAMMMERED Silver, but the oldest one we've found yet no less! This is just the beginning of what's going to be a long and methodical winter hunting these grounds, but if the rest of the winter continues like this we're all going to be in for quite a treat!

1600s buckle's, button's and silver cobs om my. Im not from Kansas but if I were you boys i keep digging that field now and again again you got the permission. You know that hammer gold coin in there somewhere. Slow, level and mid tones. Good luck that field crazy old. Keep digging on history of what was there in the 1600s somebody of wealth or a inn or trading post.
hi from scotland, the coin you found at 10:30 you id'd as a king george 11 hibernia half penny is in actual fact a scottish "bawbee" sixpence of charles 11 dating to 1670 ish. nice find and well done a rare find in america im sure. keep up the good work. cheers alan.

This video inspired me to dust off the old detector. After asking farmer for permission set out for hunt here in Salem County NJ early 1700' s settlement are in my area. 11:46 Found nice promising site not on old 1880s map so I believe earlier. Using tips learned from watching Quarter Hoarder, discovered area with red brick remnants and pieces of black slip redware and salt glaze sherds. First dig discovered just under surface rosehead nails and old thick horse shoe ran out of time today . I can't wait to return if the hits keep coming I may have to invest in a better detector to find deeper. What a fun time. Thanks for inspiring me to hunt history.
