@@thescottishdetectorist When you said the "similar" thing had sold for 10.000, it made me wonder, if thigs of significance can be sold in Skotland? In Denmark we have a Danefæ law, where the best things have to go to public museums, but are paid for.
Scotland has a procedure where you report your find and the finder and the landowner can get some of the assessed value of a find. This would probably end up in a museum, but these guys and the landowner will get something for it.
The Bulls head is an absolutely stunning find. I'm also intrigued by some of the other pieces of bronze. The small 'trumpet like' (pipe tamper) looks remarkably like the finial to a Bronze Torc, and the long bar of bronze may well be an ingot of previously melted down material. When you consider the disk with a 'nub' on the back and all the other different pieces of broken bronze; it is possible that you may have discovered parts of a Bronzeworkers stash of recycling material which was hidden and then never recovered. If that is the case then the whole area id incredibly important.

We have got some amazing sites and as I always say, Scotland is the cradle of civilisation!! And it certainly showed today with this epic find

You just gained another US subscriber!! So AWESOME!!!!!
Many thanks Dave and welcome to the channel
He’s a lucky man and what an incredible find. We were back out at the field today with the hoard detector but the ground is frozen solid 🥶 but we got two deep targets less than 10m from the bull find spot and we’ll be back to dig them once it’s thawed! Fingers crossed 🤞
I'm just sitting here thinking about the expert craftsman who brought all of his knowledge, skill, and experience together, for what must have been days or weeks, to lovingly create something so amazing. I'm sure it would mean so much to them to know that thousands of years later their art is still being loved and appreciated by all who get to see it and its importance to the whole world. That passion for his labor transcends time and brings with it a human connection we'll never get out of a history book.
My goodness Albert! 🎉 Doing my own happy dance 💃 for you guys! Seriously that is an INCREDIBLE!!I knew it would be good when you were laying down, but I wasn’t expecting that!!! So happy 🤩🤩🤩🥳

How did he find that is he into gold panning too? Absolute amazing video as always John thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching, yes quite the find! And yes Albert is a ‘prospector’ and he gold pans at secret locations in Scotland. Even I don’t know where!! But he has some great success

Amazing! It’s very fancy for something that is just to hang a bucket handle. It must have been a very important bucket.
Thanks Janet, yes, potentially for ceremonial duties or burning oils maybe but either way impressive 🤩

Thanks Stephen. The hoard detector is here!!!!
This will be reported to the museum along with the other finds and hopefully more amazing things to come
You weren't lying. Amazing find!!
Thanks Callie. It is an incredible find. It’s not understating to say this is one of the most important metal detecting finds ever to come from Scotland and blows all my finds in the last 23 years out the water!
@@thescottishdetectoristAre you familiar with Hans of Terra Germania? He found a complete bronze spear point a couple years ago. This is the most incredible thing I've seen since then. I put a copper roof on for an artist who works in lost wax casting. I know how much work went into making that piece. Simply brilliant find!! Congrats to Albert.
