- NOTE: This video has been reuploaded without music: • Replacing bathroom tap...
In this video I show you how to replace your old sink taps and spout (Faucet) with new ones. This is a really cheap and easy way to make your bathroom look more modern or replace old and broken taps. I was prepared to replace the mixing pipes and everything but it turns out the old taps can be simply removed and replaced.

The spout is the trickiest part mate, that's the part we need to see lol
haha yeah i know. I really couldn't film that part it was just too cramped. Got an adjustable spanner on the nut and just loosened it then spun the nut off. it then just pulled straight up.
@@berko79I was going to replace my basin taps , just went to look at my spout ,
The nut is about 5mm off the copper piping, there’s no way I could get to properly, let alone loosening it
Plumber’s job I think
Helped a lot, thought I was gonna have to install the whole thing but thanks to your video I only replaced the top parts 👍👌
No problem 👍 glad to help... Saves heaps of time (and money possibly) doing it that way!
Just about to tackle this job, your video was simple and to the point, looks like the spout is going to be tricky.
Hope it went well!
@@berko79 It did, your video saved us alot of time, thankyou
Really looking for this model replacement thanks a lot
No problem 👍
Mate the music was ok, don't worry about the haters. I do have a question though. The plastic nut is broken on my bathroom and the faucet is leaking. Are there o-rings on the part that you slip the faucet over?
Thanks mate, Yes from memory there is a seal in the faucet which makes it a bit tougher to remove. Not sure if its a serviceable piece - i guess it depends on how good your local plumbing retailer is. The nut doesn't provide sealing - it more stops the movement - but if its able to move maybe it will damage the seals over time.
Exactly what I needed! Thank you so much 👍🏽
You are welcome. Glad it helped!
Great video.
Hi I got the same taps as you, however I couldn't unscrew the spindle off the rest of the bottom part as you show at 2.13. Mine doesn't just screw off as yours. How do I do it ??
Did you have any luck? sometimes it looks like they dont come apart but you can undo it - if it doesnt even have a spanner spot at all you may need to replace the whole thing back to the pipe unfortunately.
Cheers mate, going to try this tomorrow :)
Nice, hopefully it all goes smoothly for you
Do you have a video on how to do the same on a Basin. I can't find any video's that shows how to change Basin normal separate taps into a mixer
I have the exact same tap system like yours, my gooseneck spout cannot be fully turned around to unwind it as it's too close to the vanity wall. How did you untighten from underneath? to me it looks really intimidating and I am not sure how to do it. it is very narrow underneath as it got blocked by the belly of the vanity sink. What kind of tool you used to take off the spout?
Yes, it was a bit of a squeeze inside the vanity. I cant remember exactly how i did it, but it wasnt has bad as I thought it was. i think to undo the spout i used an adjustable spanner (wrench) and just put it up vertically. When you get about 1/4 of a turn it will be finger tight.
@@berko79 Thanks, will try it out and hope I can replace it
Thank yoy useful but the background music was too loud
Noted, I'll make sure its turned down for the next one.
I need to buy that type of tab ..... , couldn't find at Reece or banning. The push in tab .
Where can I find it please .
Pretty sure i got them from Reece. Pretty sure they are these ones: www.reece.com.au/product/tapware-accessories-c2518/basin-tapware-c743/basin-tap-sets-c746/posh-bristol-basin-set-swivel-chrome-4-star-9502195
Whered you buy them taps
Reece Plumbing - Posh Bristol Basin Set Swivel Chrome (4 Star)
Product code: 9502195
The stupid background music is too loud. Thanks for your video though
You didn’t show me the tool you used to tighten it at the end, you have to show the camera and tell us where we can get it from. I have no idea
How do I stop it leaking😅
Nice video. 20 min install and the plumber chargers over $200 bucks.
Cheers, Not that hard and yeah saves a decent amount of cash!
How do u take the body off the tap, to just replace the top bits
you mean what i did at about 1:40? you just undo them with an adjustable spanner and they come out. They can be a bight tight if they havent been done for a while
Such a shame the music drowned out what you were saying. Maybe upload it again without the music.
Onya Berko!
Turn the background music off for god sake
The music was dreadful and unnecessary, other than that a good video.
This isn't something I should do myself really, is it?
It really is pretty basic but it depends on your level of DIY experience I guess. If it looks tricky from the video it might be best to leave it to the professionals.
Ok
Music is too loud
Be great without that unnecessary music.
For sure music doing my head in
Cant see a dang thing
whats with the ridiculous music cant hear you
