    In this video I show you how you can change your bathroom sink faucet. It is actually quite easy to install a new bathroom sink faucet. It is definitely one of those tasks that are a lot easier than they look!
    To replace your bathroom sink faucet you just need to disconnect the water lines, remove the old faucet, assemble the new faucet, install the new faucet, and reconnect the water lines!
    It also requires very few tools and materials. The only special thing you will need is some teflon tape. Everything else should come in your faucet kit.
    I was surprised at how easy it was to install a one-hole faucet in a 3 hole sink. It is just a matter of covering the 2 extra holes with a baseplate.
    Overall, replacing your bathroom faucet is a great way to upgrade your bathroom! Having a more modern and stylish faucet really transforms to look and feel of your sink!

    great video, one thing that wasn't clear to me but i figured it out. when you chisel, hold the chisel vertically so the sharp blade cuts towards the rings and cuts through that brass lock towards the threaded pipe. you aren't trying to pop it off or separate it from the sink you are trying to cut through it. once you cut through the brass lock thing and hit the threads i used a needle nose pliers to separate the cut and it unlocked the threaded pipe and it dropped to the floor inside the cabinet. prior to that i was struggling so hard under the sink to unscrew stuff. all the work is on the top of the sink.

    I've found from experience that it can really help to add some Plumber's Putty under the base plate. When I didn't do this any splashes of water around the base plate would end up leaking under the sink. Plumber's Putty is real low tech stuff that works wonders at preventing leaks.

    Really enjoyed the video! I do have a question, do you own this property? If so, I would suggest replacing the J bend and tailpiece. Also, I would change the multi turn shut off valves to quarter turn shut off valves. The reason the black water came out is actually of the black seal in the multi turn shut off valve is deteriorating and when the water is shut off and turned again that will happen.

    • @Ettore
      @Ettore  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you!
      I do own the property, what is the advantage of replacing the j bend and tailpiece?
      My previous faucet wasn't producing black water and it has never done that since. I'm pretty sure it is residue from the factory.

    • @patchesdriftwood34
      @patchesdriftwood34 2 роки тому +1

      @@Ettore the J bend and tailpiece you have now are made of aluminum. Over time as water sits and passes through the J bend and tailpiece, it will skillet corrode the aluminum and become brittle and thin.
      Not super alarming right now to change it, but it’s good preventive maintenance to change them to a plastic J bend and tail piece with new seals.

    • @patchesdriftwood34
      @patchesdriftwood34 2 роки тому +1

      @@Ettore it’s possible it was from the faucet. But I do know the packing/seal in a multi turn shut off valve is black. When you turn the valve off, it tightens and closes the packing. When the packing is older it usually leaves a black residue once the water is turned back on you can see it come out.
      You can always test this by turning the water off with the multi turn valves underneath that bathroom sink. Have it off for about 5-10 minutes or so, and turn them back on slowly. Once back on run the water out of the faucet. If you see any black in it, it’s from the packing in the shut off valves.
