Mike can't even talk about Cus without showing emotion. He really meant a lot to him.
Only father Mike ever knowed
Took him in off the streets as a young fella fed and clothed him mentored him and convinced him that he can be a ruthless Killa of a boxing god heavy weight champ and he developed into iron mike. And through all of it he became a good humble intelligent man.

@Velvet Kush His dad was like 101 when he died lol guy has crazy genetics also if you look at him in the 80s he looks really young for his age back then
@Velvet Kush Not Mike Tyson lol. Michael Franzes is 70, I assume by you "barely getting hit during his early days" is referring to The ex Pro Boxer, not the ex- mobster. If I missed something, I apologize in advance but Tyson has to in his mid 50s just following being a fan of his and the timeline of becoming the youngest champ..

When you asked him if he was into cage fighting and he replied "if two bugs walk across the table and start fighting, I'm into that!". What an epic answer. Some people like Mike just seem to come up with memorable answers effortlessly. I can remember a few good ones from him.
The man is a legend. I`m old enough to have been a fan back when he was coming up. In the 80`s there was nothing more exiting than a Tyson fight. After he came back from prison, i had an issue with him. To much trash talk. But the man he is now.....I might be even a bigger fan. Salute you Mike 😊
@Velvet Kush yea east coast has some on the best talkers
So true.. look at freakin Tim Dillon..
When you are brought up with someone like the legendary Cus D'Amato, who took Mike in & poured all his deep mind knowledge into Mike, it is no wonder Mike is just the same, he is the extension of Cus's legacy.
When you've taken a real good look at yourself and become aware of your true self it's easier to relate and connect with folks.
I feel that Mike is so comfortable with Michael, that he opens up as if Michael is his therapist.
Mike really knows how to hit the greatness and humbleness nerve in me.

Which Mike?
@@jonnydoe1565 Mike tyson, not Michael Franzese
Hey i watch your videos great content bro
Who are you ?
I'm 40. Mike was in his prime when I was growing up. I remember thinking how reckless he was, only to realize he was just immature and young. I commend you Mr. Tyson for earning wisdom and becoming a true hero, and a humble person. I wish all the best for you and your loved ones. Thank you Mr. Franzese for this sit down. You sir are an inspiration.
Beautiful comment my friend, I'm the same age and feel the same way... Godbless him he is a true one of a kind, just like michael
Most people who feel they are unblemished always describe a person how they think should behave according to their experiences and beliefs, if you yourself didn't go through what you think Tyson went through, then it is pure ignorant speculation, and creates a tall tale sign to check yourself.
@@fg5563 I never said he should have behaved a certain way, and, I myself have blemishes, we all do. You must have misunderstood my comment, I was complimenting he and Mr. Franzese on both of their actions for changing and being humble to help others.
Reckless was a bad word, defensive should have been used if your going to publish a description of another man's career stability. Watch and subscribe to hot boxing with Mike Tyson and listen to his story. Your 40, you assume a responsibility if you are going to describe another man's talents to a mass audience, especially if they have no information on him. Your heart is in the right place, however misrepresentation of a legend can rub his true fans wrong.
@@fg5563 Oh for fucks sake...are you one of those people who only belive in freedom of opinion, but only if it matters to you? Who are you to tell me what I should or shouldn't have said? I assume doing that make for a miserable life sometimes. Mike Tyson had a span of years of saying what he wanted, when he wanted and however he wanted to. Quote from an interview, from when he was young: "I'll talk to you how I want to talk to you, fuck off." He has even admitted to his faults and failures of being reckless and young and immature. He said he hates how he acted back then and is embarrassed by it now. That to me is earning wisdom and growing up, so my comments and statements are justified. Also I'm pretty sure Mike doesn't need anyone to take up for him, even though you feel like a "Protector" of sorts. By the way, it's "you're" not "your". 👍
Mike is the best example of when you take a kid who has nothing and give him discipline and a goal. The man is a real inspiration.
I love how Michael brings up the sit-down with Sammy and Mike acts like a fanboy saying he was just talking on the phone with Sammy and he thinks he's an awesome guy. Mike really loves this mob stuff. These are the only people who can get Mike to act like a kid.
Haha most definitely, when franzese tells an old mob story he is really intrigued.
Great podcast 👌🏻
Mike was under Cus D'Amato, he was all character respected in the streets. The mob was all about character too living by a code, that's how Mike was raised.
Cus was known for living by a code the same code the Made men lived by. That's why Tyson is very intrigued, this is how he was raised.
He's among characters he knows and trusts implicitly here. They walked the same streets, talk the same language.
When you're honest and the folks you're speaking with are honest it's amazing the ground you can cover and learn from.
Dear Mike Tyson, it was so sad to hear about your young child and my thoughts go out to you ,as I have only just found out and am a father also.

It's wonderful that Michael still loves to fight. He still enjoys it.
Respect to how defensive Mike gets about his mentor, you can see it in his eyes when people try and talk about Cus.
Mike reinforces the candor about his honesty by admitting he lies to get things. You cant make that shit up.

Yeah I've been watching Mike since the Olympics. definitely one of my all-time favorite boxers. I hated the way all the vampires and tried to move in on him when Cus passed away. Looks like they waited till he was really hurting and having a hard time to try to just suck everything out of that man. But he's a champion because through all of it Mike has come out the other side and still holding his head up high. One of the greatest ever in the art of that peekaboo style fighting. Anybody takes a hit from Mike Tyson and is still moving forward is a bad man win or lose. Even at the age he is now, he can still move. Definitely, one of the best to ever enter the ring. I know Cus looks down on him right now, and is proud of him. Mike had a hard life but he's still moving forward and doing the best he can, and that's what makes a champion in my opinion not what you do after a win, but how you come back from a loss.
