Fate of Nation is a wonderful album; deep, harmonious and timeless. We hope to see you again in Argentina Robert. When the world turns again.
Robert is a gift from the Heaven. Thanks for your art and this podcast, Golden God!
I'm agree with you.
No gods. No heavens. Mother Nature is truly amazing.
Fate of Nations is Roberts best solo album for me, some brilliant musicians on it. Still play it today 👍🎶
I liked Now and Zen better for about 20 years, but several years ago I really started appreciating Fate of Nations. It's now become my favorite Plant album, and it's also one of my favorite albums overall. Saying it's the best is a high compliment because Robert Plant always delivers.
Yea I liked Now and Zen, but probably because of the Led Zep undertones. I saw him twice on that tour, it was ok but not really one thing or the other. He refused to do any Zeppelin numbers which did not go down well. The biggest cheer he got at Hammersmith was when Page appeared for the encore. Fate of Nations was Robert finding his own way at last, Mighty Rearranger took the process another step away from his past after he had revisited the Zeppelin era again with Page.
First two my favorites but like all I’ve heard. Fate is really good!
29 Palms is a classic sound
Thanks Mr. Plant .
29 Palms is my favourite solo song behind If I Were a Carpenter. ❤️
Sweet Robert. Tks for keeping in touch. ✌️ on 🌎 for all.
I remember the first time I heard "29 Palms". It was right after my junior year of high school. My friend Jerry and I were huge Zeppelin fans, and somebody named Plant, Page, or Jones could have released an album of mouth harp solos and we would have been all over it. Anyway, we picked up Fate of Nations, went back to Jerry's place, and played it. Everything blew us away, but "29 Palms" was something really special. "He's still got it, man," one of us said to the other... I'm not sure which, because, well. But yeah, he still had it, and he still does.
AMEN & AMEN!!!
Today Robert has his birthday. Happy Birthday dear Robert, from beautiful Greece🎂🎂🎂🎉🎉🎉🎉💕💕
29 Palms is a beautiful song it's a calling card with special feelings about a place buried deep inside.

I love Robert Plant and his music.
Yes, Sir, tell us more about that; Knocks us down and down and down and down...; can't wait💙😍🎶
You won't hear it from him but you could use your imagination.
@@kaykatnissg7812 Hello there, I've already heard, in the Podcast; anyways....are you Jiminy Cricket or something?
@@JulieJersey Ha! What I meant was RP doesn't really divulge a lot about the songs in his podcasts. He's as tricky as Pinocchio.
@@kaykatnissg7812 😍💕Totally agree; He always says that, and does not divulge what his eyes see, brain thinks or heart feels not just because it's private, but because no one else deserves to see or understand so much beautiful madness. But..., there's always a Fairy who knows everything🦋
he always says the funniest stuff, makes me smile
Robert : Enjoyed your early eighties work. Melody, Little by little. Haircut? Eh. Ha. Saw u in 80. Sending as much love I can.
This is one of my favorite songs, and having Francis Dunnery singing back up, and his guitar work just helped to make this whole album magical! I have been a fan of yours (and obviously Zep) since I was 12 years old in 1969. You are brilliant, Robert, THANK YOU for your incredible talent!
You're much more than legend& my parents are gone. I'm 45& my parents played led zep records for me when I was a little girl. Then in my teen years for Christmas I asked for led zep tapes. My dad played ship of fools a lot when he was driving. These memories are all I have because we didn't talk for 20 yrs before he died. I hope you understand what your music means to some.
Bless you. I hope Robert reads these comments, because he is a sweet natured man and I think what you said here would touch his heart as it touched mine.
Celtic Gold he is such an intensely private man, but wouldn’t it be such a gift to us if he would sometimes respond? Lord, I think I would jump out of my skin.
Im 45 too , my parents and no one from my place knew Led Zeppelin
It was my battle, great great music I love the most
Happy Birthday Robert!!!♌🎊🎤☀️ Great man!🌼
Mmm...love me some Robert...will listen to it later though...got a busy day 💜🦁👑...edit** was at home still...absolutely wonderful 💜🤘🔥💯

Thanks for another enlightening interview and for making it available to all on planet earth and beyond. It's great that you are making music that you enjoy and which pushes your own boundaries. Keep on rockin' and harmonising 🙏
Hi Robert, just wanted to say thanks for so many great songs. Been listening to "Thru With The Two Step" a LOT recently....I have no words...except thank you for that very comforting masterpiece!
IMO, the best song ever!! Along with “I’m in the mood” And I’m a life long hard rock and heavy metal fan😂😂😂 u the man Robert 🙌🏻💯😁
💜 this song. This one, and Big Log reminds me of California, where I lived for many years. 🌻
For some reason I would have loved to seen or heard that conversation with Elvis and Robert. Maybe not world's apart .. but the fact that you are real and not fake it, because they both poured thier Soul into the music ...
Yes you mean it. You really do!
I love love love this album. Listned to it hundreds of times. The Greatest Gift that is Robert Plant!
Great melodies and a great gift of being able to harness them. Plant's songs are very insightful it seems
Can't fight the feeling not comments magic Plant's voice ...many thanks .This voice we had heard only on the (my)RIGONDA lamp radio at USSR times .Sometimes we got vinyl to record( rent a hour ).It was happiness
No tengo palabras para decirte lo que siento cuando escucho tus podcasts, tendría que tenerte frente a mi para demostrártelo, gracias Sir Plant.

Fate of Nations is a great album.
He is THE BEST OF THE BEST!! THANKS FOR THE AWESOME MUSIC YOU GAVE TO THE USA! SIMPLY THE BEST! JAYHAWK COX⚠️⚠️👍👍👌👌😷😷😷
Happy birthday! 🎂 ♥️🇮🇨🇪🇸
I used to look like 1970 Robert Plant when I was 20. Now I'm 50 and look like Rodney Dangerfield.
Bob C. You must have been beating them off with a stick in 1990 then. Robert was one of the most beautiful men I’d ever seen back in the day.
@@helenespaulding9372 Unforunately, no. Rap had just started. Most kids were into that. One time in the 10th grade this girl that was in band grabbed me by the arm and brought to the High School Band Instructor and said "This is who I was telling you about doest he look like Robert Plant?" I probably could have been a naughty boy. But I didn't.
Bob C. Oohhh....that was too bad. Naughty would have been acceptable. 😁
Mr. Plant, many people in my country loves you and your music. You are great musician and men. 29 palm staying in my calls telephone number. Beautiful. No words.
Love you, Robert ❤️
I was looking forward to this one immensely and Robert NEVER disappoints!❤

The 3rd song, 29 Palms..., how can I remember that and forget my reading glasses are on my head..
Doug Boyle was incredible on lead and acoustic guitar that evening.
Fate of Nations, Plant's best solo album in my opinion...for so many reasons and memories.

Funny....I’ve driven through 29 Palms a dozen times or more traveling between Vegas and Palm Springs, and I knew non of the mystical, artistic vibe. Just the speed shacks out in the desert, the down at the heels vibe, the tattoo parlors, the fast food joints, all the barbershops advertising military cuts because there’s a large military base just outside of town. This place has a rough, raw vibe and I could never get through it fast enough. Perhaps it was different back in the eighties....as Robert said...you either “get” 29 Palms or you don’t. I guess I don’t....at least the way it is now.
Grazie. Idea geniale spiegare il testo delle proprie composizioni! Grazie. Sempre in anticipo sui tempi! Ti voglio bene.😘
Fate of narion is a wonderful album.
That Brisbane show story though! Wow! The audience And the band really got something special that gig
Que bueno que este la traduccion en español ...mil gracias..!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess the area made an impression and RP seems to find romance where ever he goes.

I love you!
That anecdote about el Waeel is hilarious. An Egyptian struck by a lightening bolt really hits home for me. Having lived amongst Egyptians for a decade I can say for a certainty that he was a brave fellow. Most have intriguing superstitions like never look at a picture or candle shaped like an owl. Also the pyramids and the deceased are another concept that creeps them out. Beware of an Egyptian tour guide if you meet one at Giza since they usually have a morbid fear of the dead. You know what they say about the curse of King Tut. "Nothing is really what it seems." Thanks for "29 Palms," such a gem of a melody. Blessings from a real Zep fan from the early days.
Course take care thanks again 🔊🔊🔊🔊

Love this song!
I've been to the Integratron, Giant Rock and George Van Tassel's runway in the Mohave. I never knew Robert knew about all of this. Using Gen 3 night vision goggles in 2017 and with 62 witnesses, we filmed one very strange craft and saw two triangle craft out by Giant Rock. One huge ball of light also floated up from the desert floor and traveled around the rocky hilltop out of sight. Earlier that day in Joshua Tree, a woman approached me telling me that she and I were currently serving on a Plieadian craft together and there they are (pointing to the clear blue sky) saying hello to me. I looked up and there was a floating elongated craft above us. A wall panel opened up and four humans walked out and began waving to us. A man next to me could see it too. Was I waving at myself?
breech123 wow...what a trip...

I just discovered an interview with Robert on English radio from July 31st of this year, talking about Digging Deep, and his album coming out October 2nd! Also rumors of perhaps another project with Allison Kraus and T-Bone. But you know how rumors go. Anway, here’s the link to the interview. I’m so glad to hear from him since lock-down! ua-cam.com/video/TcHIajp34kE/v-deo.html
RIP John Prine.
See him sing this on Dave Letterman
Rumours linking Plant to Canadian singer Alannah Myles romantically, proved to be true, and there is a suspicion the song "29 Palms" is written about her. Alannah opened for Plant on his "Manic Nirvana" tour and some time later had a baby, the father of which is reputedly Plant. Plant reinforced the idea that the song may be about Myles when he said it was "...my ideal- love-affair-gone-wrong song." 29 Palms is an actual place, an army base and community out in the middle of the California desert. Plant may have played a concert there during his "Manic Nirvana" tour.
Alannah Miles singing Black Velvet to be exact
Robert is the best voice in modern history. I supported Robert from the beginning of his solo carrier. My first concert was almost Zeppelin in 80. Was on my way to the ticket master and the radio was blaring on the black top of high school and the music stopped suddenly and the devastating announcement came. John Bonzo Bonham was gone. So I waited and Robert was my first concert. Happened to meet him and Jimmy on the Unleaded tour. I was always into heavy music so as Robert softened I moved on. I respect his work but it just doesn't hold me. The early recordings I still listen to from time to time. I listen to Zeppelin every day so he will always be apart of my life. Like a love affair so much history just can't let go! I love these pod casts my only gripe their not long enough. I could listen to him talk for hours! I think one of the best interviews he ever did was with Charlie Rose. He talked about everything, his intelligence is mesmerizing.
John Nilsson Yes, his Charlie Rose interviews (solo, with Page and Jones in 2012, and with Allison Kraus) are all good. If you have not already done so, I would highly recommend several others; David Letterman interview 2012 with Page and Jones; Both his interview with Dan Rather, and with Brian Johnson of AC/DC on AXSTV 2017 or so; a great interview from around 1982 on MTV just as his solo career was starting; three interviews on QTV from the last decade, and lastly, his tribute to Jimmy Page in 2007 speaking about their collaboration and what it meant to him....very moving. There are dozens more, of course. One with George Stephanopoulis is a hoot.
@@helenespaulding9372 thank you, yes I have seen or heard most. I didn't know he did two with Dan Rather. The Show with Jason at the O2 was really the best they played together since 1980. Imo I think they could of did a tour. They were tight and Jason really stepped up to the plate. The best time imo for them to ever get back together for a tour was the Unleaded tour! I think Jason was a bit messed up then though. Jason has become a great player in his own right. Not his dad and I would love to see him switch to Luds but hey he's doing great. But yeah think that would had been the time but only if Jason was up to it. There's a video of him and Jimmy doing Wearing And Tearing think it may had been the show that lead to the Unleaded project. Robert was just into the thought of his past with Zepp. There is also a dynamite video of him solo at a soundcheck with the band and Alana Myles where Robert plays guitar. I could go on forever. That video is on YouYube.
John Nilsson just one Rather interview....sorry I wasn’t clear. I meant both Rather AND Brian did interviews on AXTV. Yes, the O2 was phenomenal and I know so many fans never forgave Robert for not agreeing to touring. Initially, I felt the same, but later realized that I was thinking about ME, as a fa, and my wants and desires, whereas this is RoBert’s life. In 2007 he had his collaboration with Allison starting and he was fascinated by the Appalachian music of the mountains. He was also touring with his band at the time, Strange Sensations. You’re as big a fan as I am, so you know that the worst nightmare for Robert is boredom and endless repetition. He’s always on the move (at least u til a few years ago) both physically and musically, always intrigued by new sounds. So, as he has said, he hated the idea of playing to stadiums of people who came to hear the hits of old....even with millions of dollars on the table. He has been utterly true to his personal ethos and creative spirit, even when it cost him personally. And of course, there was the issue os his voice. Doing the one-off of the O2 is one thing, but putting such demands on 60 year old vocal chords night after night might have caused damage and lessened his chance of being able to sing at all going forward. 🎤 jimmy wanted to tour, I’m sure. He never felt so alive as when he was on stage with Robert, and it has been sad to me that he basically disappeared from playing after that last concert. But his and Roberts paths in music had diverged so much. I would not have guessed it in the seventies, but it was Robert who reinvented himself and moved forward from the Golden God persona, and Jimmy who got stuck in the guitar rock god and finally moved into the background with the remastering of the legacy of Zeppelin. zeppelin was really his baby, and preserving the legacy is important to him. I’m glad it is. But legacy is not important to Robert. He moves through his time, as he says, and enjoys each moment as it is, and doesn’t get trapped in the glories of the past. A fascinating man, an old soul. And I would give just about anything to meet the man and just talk and share a pint.
John Nilsson I just watched the soundcheck video. Thank you so much for mentioning it! I knew that Robert could plunk out a few chords, but didn’t know he could even play well enough to jam with other musicians. Wonder if he can play keyboards as well......And holy Cow, what a hunk he still was at 42! 😁
Ждем.....😑☺ 💙💛✌
Give me one heart please i love you

Robert, instead of nearly driving me into a ditch, you should have stopped and talked! You really need to take that bend at Sh*****d better. You did the same to my mate.I had my elderly parents in the car and after saving us from a wreck, I yelled 'who the hell was that?'My aged father piped up from the back seat 'That was Robert Plant!' I had no idea he even knew you existed! Although he worked with someone who was friends with Bonham. I told this story to my friend who lives in the same area and he said, 'He did the same to me!' If you still live there, just remember that is a public road and we are not all prepared for rock gods hurtling towards us on the wrong side of the road at high speed? Especially when we are out with our aged parents for a Sunday tootle! Lol
Oh yeah, blame your brilliance on drugs. Very self-effacing of you but we know Zepp was brilliant because y'all was brilliant. 😁
If he's talking about the Royal Albert Hall gig on Jimmy's birthday in 1970, I've seen it on UA-cam... it was beyond mind-blowing.
