Thank you so very much Robert for your lifetime work, your complex and varied corpus of music. Your beautifully expressive voice helps us access our emotions and is a comfort to me especially in difficult times.
This guy isn't in music for an ego trip, it seems like it's become his life force.
@Lee Johnson That's a really good observation! Go Well.
Imagine having a beer with Robert Plant listening to his jukebox 👍🏻
That would be a Cool Time !
Bob Holness
Actually met and had conversations with this gentleman. He is that and much more fun in person 2 person experience.
Lovely guy really truly~*
That would be a dream!
@@mladyriadthat would be a dream come true. I have hung out and become actual friends with a number of musicians, but to even get part of a day with RP would be the pinnacle of those experiences.
Long live the Golden God ! ❤❤❤ you are the living Rock Sage Robert
I so admire the way he’s chased his muse since Zep. He’s stayed true to himself. That takes incredible wisdom. He could be out making tens of millions with a reformed Zep. There are more important things
Zep was so big I can't imagine my life without this man.
ROBERT PLANT FOREVER! LONG LIVE ROBERT PLANT!
Another delightful but all too brief visit with Robert Plant. I will never tire of the fingertips of your soul stretching outward and touching mine with your vision and emotion and intellect. What a treasure ❤
Thanks for taking the time to sit down and chat like this ...loved raising sand .
This man is my idol. A way with words and emotion that I've never imagined. Love Raising Sand
I had such a good laugh hearing about Alison Krauss asking Robert to sing the same thing twice, for once, so she could sing along.
ThinWhiteAxe as a bluegrass musician who thrives in tight harmonies, I know how important it is to sing the same thing each time, and I also know how hard it is as a vocalist who expresses herself through music!
What a lovely Sunday afternoon treat!!!🎯🎯
Adriane Flesher beats a cuppa!
... To the sea.... The sea of love.... That was a beautiful tribute for your mother 😍
Gifted man yet keeps digging deeper....loving listening to him talk as well as sing...
What Robert Plant is discussing is the intellectual and cultural roots of music. That is a subject that fascinates me. How I would love to sit down, one on one with Robert and have a conversation. Listening to him is amazing. I am so glad that I subscribed to this Podcast!
Pamela Macneil same in the early 1980s I'd die to interview him for MTV be jealous of the chicks that were all over him!!! Must've been nice!!!!! 😡
@@chantaldubois9340 Music, like all art forms has roots, intellectual and cultural. It doesn't exist in a vacuum.
@@pamelamacneil1331 No doubt music has cultural roots, but as an art form it’s sensory, not intellectual.
@@chantaldubois9340 Which sense creates the music? The creative process is intellectual, in part anyway.
@@pamelamacneil1331 It’s sensory enlightening to process it mentally. Aural stimulation that contributes to cognitive ability & spatial reasoning. However, to create music, one needs sensory talent.
But RP didn’t discuss that. He spoke of what triggered his inspiration .
His influences are many and varied. Inspiration he drew since his youth... culminating in his music. 👏🏻
I wish he could go on for longer..like his musical journey ... forever
Nothin. My favorite song from that album. I can listen to it on repeat all day long. Sir Robert, your voice is so delicate and mesmerizing in it.
Great to hear the background story of the studio work.
Nothin' is such an amazing song. It's definitely something.
I love that unconceding blast of fuzz with the double bass
This is my favorite song from Raising Sand. Robert's voice is amazing in it. The whispers do me in every time.
Love your digging deep podcasts. Been a fan since I heard stairway to heaven when I was a kid. Such an amazing life you’ve led!!
I love these podcasts! I've been listening to them repeatedly now. I'm looking forward to more.
Petition for Robert to be knighted by the Queen....RP is right up there with McCartney & Elton John.
ROCK N ROLL 😎 ROYALTY 😎
i don't think he needs to be knighted. plus, he's way too laid-back and humble to accept that honor.
Elton FFFFing John ?????????????????? LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Any chance PM?
Richard Winfield I mentioned Elton John because he’s SIR Elton John. RP is *certainly* on par with that!
Keep doing the great work SIR ROBERT the world is a more rocking place , thank you
I love these shows because it really gets into Robert's mind and heart about the songs that he performs or has written. Please keep them coming and thank you very much for sharing all of this with us!!
Raising Sand is definitely one of the most stand out albums ever produced. Love how Robert connects things that have never been connected together before.
My Sunday afternoon Pill,
Things aren't going well for me and this podcast, with the central air running on a 90 degree day is all I needed,
Truly nice to listen to,
Works for me, in so many ways.
Another gem. Thank you, Mr Plant.
He can weave a story can’t he? The influences, happy accidents and experimentation is no kind of formula. I think a lot of musicians should listen to this to broaden their ideas.
Loved every moment of that. It is fascinating that you come away having learnt about the influences on his musical journey. Allison telling him to sing the same way twice so that she could harmonise was brilliant. Looking forward to more of these podcasts.
I am a HUGE FAN ! "Freaking Great" ! Delaware U.S.A. !
Such an extensive back catalogue so very interesting to hear the stories behind the songs . Am loving this series !
I decided to shave while listening to this.........R.P. is one of my musical heroes, Zeppelin opened my ear holes to the Da'Blues besides Otis Redding, BB King and Aretha.
Great collaboration, love hearing about Robert's musical upbringing, we are always being molded u know.
They were fantastic together, and the letter song is my favorite but enjoyed all their endeavors, thank you Robert and Alison and hope you give us more.
I absolutely love listen to Robert talk. It is so interesting learning about the songs. Wish the podcast was longer. I could listen to Robert talk forever. I would love to meet him and talk to him. Robert is so intelligent and talented.
That voice makes me smile just as much as it makes me fall asleep.. so soothing; not boring.. :)
Loved what you said about Allison, you two sing so beautifully together, harmonies are just so precious.
Funny Allisons fave band Def Leppard!!! Blast from my past! Robert is the best storyteller!
Please please don't stop these! The album Raising Sand" was so great! Loved it.
Robert is a real gentleman, true lover of the blues.
Also a typical boho guy forever!
Plus my forever crush,I'll always love his humble attitude, his decision to age gracefully, his fab sense of humour,
Great storytelling,amazing talent,terrific wordsmith!!!!!
Remember time passes he's not going to look like he did in the 1970s in 2019 without plastic surgery!
Respect him for aging without that crap!!!!
I certainly DO!
My beautiful old soul Robert.....❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the catalogue of music, that became the soundtrack of my life, making me more reflective, more wanting to dance, wanting to zone out,be simply joyful & just sing along!
Love from Canada,but I'm 1/2 British)
What a wonderful series this is - thank you!
The intensity of this track to me shows Townes Van Zant when he describes a human being done with a relationship...Not Angry, Not Mad, Just Done...
With the whispers of R.P., and Alison on the fiddle, with T Bone's arrangement...
Simply Masterful
Hey mama, when you leave...
Don't leave a thing behind...
I don't want nothin'...
I can't use nothin'...
To echoes strung,
On pure temptation...
Sorrow and solitude...
These are the precious things...And the only words...
That are worth, rememberin'...
Love to listen to this guy tell stories
With You Always 💜
Yes exactly..spontaneity, no preformed ideas, not beholden to the original , ad libbed que sera sera. Bravo
couldnt have put it better.
Thank you so much Mr . PLANT for bringing such beautiful music to this world. Your amazing! May GOD bless you always 🤩
If I tried that it would be like falling of a cliff. I don't know much about the music business but it's really something to have a chance to listen to a really accomplished musician. Helps to keep me focused on something positive. I'm not sure what kind of music I come up with sometimes, I'd be the brainless musician wondering how to play a fretless banjo on a hopeless recording probably. The best thing to do is keep myself interested and busy with it.
From raising hell to raising sand, Robert keeps raising the bar higher. ♥♥♥
Another very brilliant episode...I love this podcast!!!! 💗💗💗
Love u Robut Plont
I wish i would of known he was in Cleveland for that i would have drove the hour for sure!
Oh Robert 💓🇬🇧👑
I loved how different you sounded - the possibilities are endless with different collaborators-
Incredible soul
Thanks Robert, love this stuff
Every week... wow... what a treat. Keep 'em comin' .... please. Would be a fantastic treat if ya talk about 'All My Love'. Blessings.
So nice to listen to your story's
Favorite track from Raising Sand.
Kid you not, this version of Nothin' sounds like Mongolian music to me. I legit thought Robert got his inspiration from it at first
Maybe that's what happen when you put fiddle and banjo together. Absolutely amazing stuff

Thank you Robert Plant, so glad your sharing your sharing stories. I've admired your education and music since I first heard Black Dog when I was a child. We even had the same taste in clothes and you made a song out of my favorite game and writing. Hangman and Tangerine... I was 8 or 9... lol

Yes, Robert can be a bit ambiguous, but that’s his personal preference. He’s made it be known that he wishes to be easy and friendly.
I admit I loved the earlier Def Leppard albums..i even wear shredded beans to this day😂🦁
Just great! Da Iawn Planty!!

Ambiguity works well in music, lyrics, art, film, and literature. Not so great on social media or post game press conferences. Very intimate podcast.

Tall Cool One Nola
Last Temptation!!!??!!
If I had to choose a name for a band, I'd call it Skinny Stinney, after a colored kid who was tried and executed as an adult for a murder a very long time ago, that he was wrongfully accused of back in the 40's or 50's, not sure, by electric chair. something like this. I've never worked with any musicians, or anything but I'm looking to set up a recording or music studio at my place and practice some songs I wrote. I base my songs on a music theory I think may have been sent to me from a Native American Vision I believe has hit me. It's very difficult to follow and understand because of much distraction. Another possible name for the band could The Tarbabies, or both. Kind of a country blues, rock n roll sound based on a theory called the -"Boogie Theory" Whether or not something like this could ever happen remains to be seen.
I wear a red stripe, war paint across my eyes brought down to me by a white fox way up high in the mountains. A very long story

what's the intro music, or is it a few snippets?

When you leave just pack your memories and maybe your toothbrush and your lipstick and some crackers...maybe a lamp and a book of matches and a book and a bottle of water
