Hi, any eta on the reworked rework? Just starting my second playthrough on an increased difficulty and a guide would really help. Unfortunately this one is quite outdated as you mentioned (e.g. Argenta starts with 30 STR making it hard to give her a heavy bolter).

If you just want to enjoy the atmosphere of the game, why not just play on a lower difficulty and casually customize your characters? You don't have to prove anything by playing unfair difficulty when you really just want to have a chill experience and play casually.
Relied on your videos while playing Wrath of the Righteous and was excited to see your builds for Rogue Trader. I hadn't though to pair the Sanctic Psyker with my Officer but now having tried it out it is exactly the momentum/resolve snowball effect that I was missing. anyone else encountered a thing that when you miss your Psy Rating 1 upgrade at lvl 10 u can't pick it up anymore even with respec feature, since the game while changing stats thinks that u are lvl 1 or 2 and doesnt allow you to pick Psy Rating 1

How soon do you want all psy ratings maxed out? I'm playing a Warrior Biomancer, roughly level 8 at the moment. I was worried I was going about my build wrong because I didn't add any psy ratings yet.
Nah there was definitely a release day patch that changed stats and requirements, or even put a cap on skill talents because you can't take HAP on Abelard when you say to because he only has 40 strength, not 50 as shown here. You can't take Psyker Rating 1 when you say to because it requires a higher level. There's also been some other tweaks because I've found myself being locked out of increasing skill like Awareness because "You already have this feature" and they won't let it go any higher. It's relatively minor and can be worked around but some of these builds do not work exactly as is while leveling. There's also been some renames of feats. Bullet Hell is now called Unfaltering Fire. There could be more as I'm only level 10 now. Really appreciate the builds to use before we learn the system better though! @@Werglia

It's my first Owlcat game and the leveling if you're not familiar with the system is super complex. I can't thank you enough because I like the game a lot storywise but i wasn't that sure when it has come to levelling due its complex nature. I have a question about your santic pysker, I notice that you pick up taunting defense but you don't seem to have any abilities that make you the "priority target". Does this ability work even if you don't taunt them?
supper quick footnote, it seems argenta's base strength is now 30 and not 35 on the latest release of the game, just gotta make sure you give her 1 strength increase + HWP so she can wield the heavy bolter

Think my game is bugged, I can't pick Ballistics or Perception on Yrliet. Upgrade them once each, and then every level in bounty hunter they're locked.
Extermination is way better than catacilysm for Argenta. Adding 10+ damage to base damage snowballs better than +%30 increase to already high +% damage bonus from other various sources.
Why do you take Prescience on Idara? I’m sure I’m missing something, but I don’t see why the buff to skills like Fellowship, Intelligence, Perception, and Willpower are so useful during combat. Is this meant to be used on herself to get the boost to willpower in order to get the bonuses against negative effects from the warp?
Int, Per and Wil are used by Pasqal, Cassia and Idara reapectivly. So its a useful buff for those. If you have a operator crimelord as char, int is useful for some things too.
Willpower is about u not getting rebuffed by warp and negative effects Intelligence on pasqal is good bc u can use him to unlock stuff involving tech instead of needing to by lock picks also good dialogue choices and other stuff perception applies I believe to you being able to cast buff( not 100% sure ) also helps with exploring the world like finding hidden loot that u can trade in also help’s dialogue choice so u can see if the npc is lying or hiding something from u fellowship falls to u how effective your buff casting is like team synergy I may be wrong in what they do overall in combat but when it comes to exploring the world u want as much advantage and help u can get even if u don’t much about 40K lore
In terms of combat, IIRC Perception is useful for everyone, including Warriors and Soldiers, but also Psykers, in that it counters enemy dodge chance (which is factored in after a hit/miss has been calculated from your end, with Weapon or Ballistic skills - Psyker abilities notionally will always hit _unless_ dodged). Fellowship is useful for everyone in combat because higher Fellowship means faster accumulation of momentum points, which makes ultimates come faster; out of combat it's useful for the Persuasion/Coercion/Commerce skills. Fellowship is also particularly useful for Officers, because the higher their fellowship the better they can buff teammates. Intelligence is useful in combat for Pasqal (or a Crime Lord), but also (outside of combat) for skill checks that depend on INT. Willpower is useful in combat for Idira and Cassia for their psyker abilities, but also useful for your party to resist warp effects (e.g. veil degradation effects) during combat. Roughly something like that anyway, I think I got most of them right :)
i cant do those builds becaseu for example psy rating 1 requires lvl 10 but you skill it with Idira at level 8 and i cant take advanced skill tech use on pasqual it says "requires base feature: tech use" i dont even know what that means
22:00 There are so many items I've missed, and I searched every nook and cranny of act 1. I thought I found everything xd Where do you get stuff like pneumo boots, metronome, or that heavy armor abelard has?
Pasqal with Precise Attack doesn't make any sense. If you Analyze x2, then expose weakness, there will be no more stacks of exploit left, so Precise Attack will have no effect.

@Werglia for Cass, why do the talents have to be taken in that order, is there an issue with stacking or something? Aside from the difficulty, say if I playing on Daring does the order matter?
Can you think of any reason why I cannot sometimes chose while leveling talents which you show here? Like HG for Argenta? EDIT: Btw, it's not locked, It is not on the list.
I also couldn't find Advice and Guidance on the main list, but when I filtered through the individual categories at the top I eventually found it. I forget exactly which category it was under, but it was definitely in one of them.
@@RogueBurger Thanks, I have also noticed today that some of the talents changed their names. I believe bullet hell is one of them but I've found like 3 at least.
I get what's happening. You've levelled the characters up to max and respecced them. This is why you might have been able to get talents earlier than allowed. Like Idira can't get Psy Rating 1 until level 10. Abelard can't get Heavy Armor Proficiency because he doesn't meet the stat requirement.
The game was patched a bit after this video. Psy-rating 1 can only be taken after level 10 (so you can take it only at 11). Just change the Talent he chooses in level 11 with the level 6 Psy-Rating 1

Also I have to point out the bug or cheat you have on for Argenta to equip a heavy bolter with only 35 strength, I was following your guide making small changes due to patches, but then you pointed her weapons out how the heck do you do that man😮
You say Cassia is overpowered. I say Argenta is overpowered! Just shredded the 2nd Chaos Marine, the one you meet on Kiva Gamma, in the first round with 2 salvos of Heavy Bolter Burst Fire... It's only Daring but that still was 412 damage...

Hello, I folowed your build and for some reason I can not take ballistics at lvl 24 for Yrliet. It has a small lock icon and tells me that I already have this feature. Similar for Just a flash wound, it is not offered in the scroll down window. Any idea what may be wrong?
Psy Rating with Idira is all messed up. Unsanctioned Psyker gives +1 psy rating but that doesn't count towards getting psy rating 2 so you have to waste a talent on psy rating 1 to unlock it. Dumb, how did they miss that?
Wouldn't Cassia be better as Master Tactican than Grand Strategist? She would be able to buff herself for more damage and there is item in game that makes you always go 1st so Grand Strategist for only that sole purpose seems pointless. Well i get it's better choice early before the item but after that she would get more umph from Master Tactican.
I've got Cassia as a MT in a party with the RT starting as an Officer, so there's lots of passive Momentum gains via Resolve, and she's absolutely wrecking things. She got up to around 70 stacks by like turn 3 during the first encounter at the port in Act 2 and Lidless Stare turned into a nuke when I utilized the stacks.
the reason why cassia is a grand strategist is to guarantee she goes 1st/2nd (2nd if you have an officer with seize the initiative), which lets her clump up/scatter enemies with point of interest and zone of fear to kill half of them before they ever get to do anything
Great build but Naval combat is still busted. I've just completed the first 4 projects in Dragonus & Foulstone, only the first 2 in Janus. Then the game threw me with a colony event where Dark Eldar raid Dragonus and i had to intervene. I rushed over and its 7x Dark Mirror Light Cruisers with their Voidraven Bombers. Stood ZERO chance. The first turn, 1 of them took out my escort and 3 of them hit my ship with their bombers. i didnt even get to fire anything?!?!?!? Its ridiculous.
This is not valid guide for release version, for example argenta build won't work for heavy bolter, it require 60 strenth to use, so if you follow this build, you should respec in act 2 to put more points in strenth, also there is some problems with idira, Yrliet, main caracter progression. Great work, and thans for effort, but it is no longer valid, or sould be updated.
Super annoying some of these talent requirements have changed. Also some have been renamed for whatever dumb reason. I can't follow this guide exactly. :( There's been like 3 updates since I got the game and started playing.
I cant level Psi Rank 1 with Idira and also not Heavy Armor proficiency with Abelard because he has only 40 strength but it requires 45 strength? But thanks for the Build, especially Cassia is op as fuck
This Cassia build breaks the game. Literally. The game is broken. The final boss fight on Kiava Gamma ... they didn't even take a single turn. I used my officer MC with Cassia and spammed lidless stare with the other two skills I forget the name ... and they died. These are 3 creatures plus trash mobs with HP of almost 400. And I only used 1 character and the fight was over before it started. They need to balance this just a little bit. I shouldn't be able to do that.
The Emperor Protects on Argenta is a completely worthless waste of space. No willpower bonus to speak of.. so she gets what? a max 5%? Maybe? There's literally 99 better choices for this slot. For Example - Solid Projectile Weapon Expert. Which boosts her bolter damage minimum by +2. If she's meant to be ranged dps death.. then focus on that. TEP is just ... so unbelievably bad.

Bullet Hell skill for Argenta rank 10 is called Unfaltering Fire in my game. Don't know if that's just a region difference or a change the devs made.

Extermination is way better than catacilysm for Argenta. Adding 10+ damage to base damage snowballs better than +%30 increase to already high +% damage bonus from other various sources.

Why do you take Prescience on Idara? I’m sure I’m missing something, but I don’t see why the buff to skills like Fellowship, Intelligence, Perception, and Willpower are so useful during combat. Is this meant to be used on herself to get the boost to willpower in order to get the bonuses against negative effects from the warp?
Int, Per and Wil are used by Pasqal, Cassia and Idara reapectivly. So its a useful buff for those. If you have a operator crimelord as char, int is useful for some things too.

Willpower is about u not getting rebuffed by warp and negative effects
Intelligence on pasqal is good bc u can use him to unlock stuff involving tech instead of needing to by lock picks also good dialogue choices and other stuff
perception applies I believe to you being able to cast buff( not 100% sure ) also helps with exploring the world like finding hidden loot that u can trade in also help’s dialogue choice so u can see if the npc is lying or hiding something from u
fellowship falls to u how effective your buff casting is like team synergy
I may be wrong in what they do overall in combat but when it comes to exploring the world u want as much advantage and help u can get even if u don’t much about 40K lore
In terms of combat, IIRC Perception is useful for everyone, including Warriors and Soldiers, but also Psykers, in that it counters enemy dodge chance (which is factored in after a hit/miss has been calculated from your end, with Weapon or Ballistic skills - Psyker abilities notionally will always hit _unless_ dodged). Fellowship is useful for everyone in combat because higher Fellowship means faster accumulation of momentum points, which makes ultimates come faster; out of combat it's useful for the Persuasion/Coercion/Commerce skills. Fellowship is also particularly useful for Officers, because the higher their fellowship the better they can buff teammates. Intelligence is useful in combat for Pasqal (or a Crime Lord), but also (outside of combat) for skill checks that depend on INT. Willpower is useful in combat for Idira and Cassia for their psyker abilities, but also useful for your party to resist warp effects (e.g. veil degradation effects) during combat. Roughly something like that anyway, I think I got most of them right :)
They need to add search feature...for picking talents considering the numerous choice its annoying. Not to mention they change the name of some.

becaseu for example psy rating 1 requires lvl 10
but you skill it with Idira at level 8
and i cant take advanced skill tech use on pasqual
it says "requires base feature: tech use"

Pasqal with Precise Attack doesn't make any sense. If you Analyze x2, then expose weakness, there will be no more stacks of exploit left, so Precise Attack will have no effect.
How do you have Argenta with the heavy bolter her strength isn't 60??

Yeah I am having the same problem, for example Idira and Advice and Guidance simply isn't on the list.
I also couldn't find Advice and Guidance on the main list, but when I filtered through the individual categories at the top I eventually found it. I forget exactly which category it was under, but it was definitely in one of them.

Why did you give dueling mastery to Pasqal if he's going to be a sniper?
I get what's happening. You've levelled the characters up to max and respecced them. This is why you might have been able to get talents earlier than allowed.
Like Idira can't get Psy Rating 1 until level 10.
Abelard can't get Heavy Armor Proficiency because he doesn't meet the stat requirement.
The game was patched a bit after this video.
Psy-rating 1 can only be taken after level 10 (so you can take it only at 11).
Just change the Talent he chooses in level 11 with the level 6 Psy-Rating 1

May have found a bug I reset my talents for your idira build and it’s telling me I’m not high enough level to take psy rating one even tho I’m 16.

Hello, I folowed your build and for some reason I can not take ballistics at lvl 24 for Yrliet. It has a small lock icon and tells me that I already have this feature. Similar for Just a flash wound, it is not offered in the scroll down window. Any idea what may be wrong?
Nothing, just a patch, take when available and just switch for something I placed on next lvls. Not a big deal.

Psy Rating with Idira is all messed up. Unsanctioned Psyker gives +1 psy rating but that doesn't count towards getting psy rating 2 so you have to waste a talent on psy rating 1 to unlock it. Dumb, how did they miss that?

Wouldn't Cassia be better as Master Tactican than Grand Strategist? She would be able to buff herself for more damage and there is item in game that makes you always go 1st so Grand Strategist for only that sole purpose seems pointless. Well i get it's better choice early before the item but after that she would get more umph from Master Tactican.
Nope, Cassia is GS and nothing else can come close.
I've got Cassia as a MT in a party with the RT starting as an Officer, so there's lots of passive Momentum gains via Resolve, and she's absolutely wrecking things. She got up to around 70 stacks by like turn 3 during the first encounter at the port in Act 2 and Lidless Stare turned into a nuke when I utilized the stacks.
the reason why cassia is a grand strategist is to guarantee she goes 1st/2nd (2nd if you have an officer with seize the initiative), which lets her clump up/scatter enemies with point of interest and zone of fear to kill half of them before they ever get to do anything

Great build but Naval combat is still busted.
I've just completed the first 4 projects in Dragonus & Foulstone, only the first 2 in Janus. Then the game threw me with a colony event where Dark Eldar raid Dragonus and i had to intervene. I rushed over and its 7x Dark Mirror Light Cruisers with their Voidraven Bombers. Stood ZERO chance. The first turn, 1 of them took out my escort and 3 of them hit my ship with their bombers. i didnt even get to fire anything?!?!?!? Its ridiculous.
Check my run and how I did it. Everything is timestamped under unfair sanctic playlists. Including that fight.

This is not valid guide for release version, for example argenta build won't work for heavy bolter, it require 60 strenth to use, so if you follow this build, you should respec in act 2 to put more points in strenth, also there is some problems with idira, Yrliet, main caracter progression. Great work, and thans for effort, but it is no longer valid, or sould be updated.

This Cassia build breaks the game. Literally. The game is broken. The final boss fight on Kiava Gamma ... they didn't even take a single turn. I used my officer MC with Cassia and spammed lidless stare with the other two skills I forget the name ... and they died. These are 3 creatures plus trash mobs with HP of almost 400. And I only used 1 character and the fight was over before it started. They need to balance this just a little bit. I shouldn't be able to do that.

The Emperor Protects on Argenta is a completely worthless waste of space. No willpower bonus to speak of.. so she gets what? a max 5%? Maybe?
There's literally 99 better choices for this slot.
For Example - Solid Projectile Weapon Expert. Which boosts her bolter damage minimum by +2.
If she's meant to be ranged dps death.. then focus on that. TEP is just ... so unbelievably bad.
Solid Projectile Weapon Expert does not boost Bolter damage.
