But I did eventually get a Saturn from a closing electronics shop that had one last one brand new boxed for a bargain back in 1998, it too had loads of excellent exclusive games like the Panzer Dragoon series and Radiant Silvergun and loads of awesome arcade shmups!

I am pretty sure that only the Dreamcast had a built in start screen. For all the other consoles the start logo was part of the game cartridge and there were dozens, if not hundreds, of variations... I thought I had a lot of Sega systems? Yikes! I had a Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, the Sega💿CD💿, didn't get the 32X, but I had the Saturn, and the Dreamcast. The Game Gear and the Nomad were the hand-held systems I had from Sega. I loved them all for the most part. I was frustrated however when they started dropping systems off quickly. But I was a Sega fan and I'll always be a Sega fan. Now I also had every Nintendo console except for the Wii. Also the TurboGraphx-16 as well. Add my Playstation consoles and X-Box systems into the mix and well I'm a video game nut! I only wish I had kept all of my old games and systems. NOT for the monetary value or reasons. But for the amazing games that I had and would LOVE to play again! I'm hopeful that I'll find some way to get some of those systems and games back, but after seeing some of the prices on eBay? I'm not as hopeful as I was.

My best friend that I also worked with broke his leg in a car accident when a pick-up truck pulled out in front of him at an intersection on a rural road. I was actually two cars behind him and witnessed it. He couldn't work for a while. We did concrete construction. His car was smashed. He was stuck at home in a cast with nothing to do, so I sold him my Dreamcast and my games, probably about 10 of them, for $55. Deal of the century, I know, but he was my bud and he was in a bad place. I think that was 2001. That'd be like $80 in today's money. lol

Keep in mind that the Sega Genesis startup is not baked into the console, it's specific to Sonic 2. Also I'm not sure Game Gear's startup is baked into the console, either.

I'm a Sega Genesis HD Graphics Model 1 / Sega CD Model 2 kind of guy. Although the Dreamcast did just send chills down my spine. Classic nostalgia.
