This was the first true book that I ever read cover to cover. I was enthralled by the adventures of Captain Carter, and saddened when he had to leave Mars. But the thing about Edgar rice Burroughs stories is this; _the adventure never really ends._
What I appreciate about the narration is that he sounds like he's acting out the words. Some narrators are so droning despite their good sounding voice and diction.
This book quickly became one of favorites. I really enjoyed the John Carter movie but it really didn't do the book justice. I can't wait to read the next two.
Really enjoyed this book TIl the ending!! : Spoiler:stop : : : : Like wtf.. u do nothing for 2 days and on the last moments u want to try. Why... why make the John so inept suddenly. Grrrr
i appreciate how ahead of it’s time this book was but dam is it a hard listen, stupid unlikeable characters and a messy plot, the book was named after the princess but seemed to go out of its way to make her unlikeable, john carter had absolutely no motive to go head over heels with her at first sight, other than incredible horniness that somehow lasted the whole book
I own all of the Barsoom novels in paperback, but it's so nice to sit back and enjoy being read to by a very good narrator. Only one thing is missing. I could murder a cup of Tea, right now. 🫖☕
The series is brilliant to think Burroughs made up all these characters and worlds..foods.his brilliant language.each book is a gem
I love his voice so much. Thank you, Sir!

There are a few stories with such an admirable protagonist,

Incredible narration, thank you so much for this!
Wonderful narration, thank you.
This was really well narrated.
Nice narration 👍😀
I can see each word; your diction is exemplary Sir. [Btw, I loved this as a teen].

Movies rarely do the book they are based on justice. The last one l saw that came close was Appaloosa. 95 % of the dialog was straight out of the book
Been looking for a version of this that didn't put me to sleep. Thank you
Good reading Sir. Thanks!
Amazing, one of the best narrations for this series that I have come across 👏
