Cheers mate. I do honestly think that some of the best riding in the UK is within pedalling distance of Ambleside. Yeah, there’s better trails elsewhere but it is the sheer number and quality of the ones around Ambleside that makes it so good 👍

…..when I watched Marc’s version I thought this must be a vid you boys hadn’t released from late last autumn…..you really were blessed with the weather…..it’s like a bloody bog around here ! . Never worry about releasing more vids on trails you’ve previously rode ( especially in the Lakes ) I love watching them all mate 👍. I’m Definitely coming up to the Lakes area this year even if it’s with the wife , to ride some of Andy’s trails …..but I do hope to see you guys too

Yeah, we got lucky with the weather although the ground was a bit boggy in places - advantage to the Lakes though is that the majority of trails are rocky so it makes little difference.
We'll definitely be around when you head up mate 👍

Great video as always mate, this place is fantastic. Great weather, amazing trails and a great day out with friends, the only thing that wasn't so great was your rear wheel. Super riding and awesome footage. Thanks for the content and keep up the good work. Ride on and have a great day

Thanks mate. Marc got his hub fixed at the weekend and I too did some maintenance to find out what was causing the dragging brake - turns out it was the pistons in the brake caliper sticking so greased them up with Silicon Grease and it’s spot on again now 👍

@@Stopadoodledoo Very good, I already had the problem with the brake pistons. Take care and have fun on the bike.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I could quite happily only ride around Ambleside and nowhere else, there’s so many fantastic trails within a short pedal from the town. I am guessing that people would give up watching the videos though (already feels like they have as Clappersgate has featured in about 8 so far 😂)

The sun had got his hat on ... But so had the naughty mechanical gremlins. Top riding, the alpine took a damn good thrashing 😎

Got to love sunny weather, especially after the grim conditions we have seen through most of February.
It was a shame that we had a few mechanicals but not really a surprise given what we all put our bikes through, especially over winter 👍

Great video mate, gutted i missed the last 2 descents, better safe than sorry though, at least i did get a final descent, it just wasn't as good as it could of been 😢🤣👍

Thanks mate and yeah, definitely disappointing that you had to head off in the other direction but I reckon that you would have had a horrendous time of it if you had continued (wouldn’t want to get stuck in the wrong valley).
Can’t believe that you, me and Christian have all ended up with wheel issues in the same week, glad yours was easily repaired though (new rim needed for mine as it’s almost cracked right through)

Nice one Stoppa, I`m off to the lakes in a few weeks and looking forward to it, lad I`m going with is a sadist who loves his climbs so its gonna be a tough one. Keep your vids coming 👍

Looks like a great route with some steep technical downhills, which I love 👍🏻

Can’t remember the order of the trails we did but if memory of the video is correct, Clappersgate descent off Loughrigg, Wansfell Pike, Foxes Ghyll and Huntingstyle Crag. Lingmoor Fell is bloody ace too 👍

Amazing weather mate, still very wet but at least the sun came out. Serious technical at times these trails, sorry couldn't make it but we both know the current situation. Hopefully back to some normality in a couple of weeks 👍🏼
Wonder if the pub was open for Marc, shut for me 😒🤣

We got so lucky with the weather, I think all of us regretted wearing jackets.
Definitely a shame that you couldn’t make it mate, especially given the trails we rode but you know damned well that we will be going back and hopefully the ground will be a lot more solid 👍

Judging by the quality of those trails, that rulebook deserves to stay in the bin. What a ride!

Yeah, kind of ironic that I sing the praises of rocky trails and mere seconds later, get an ouchy from them (toe smashed on a boulder) 😂

Cracking ride, shame about the mechanicals!! How long is the ride up, time wise?? The descents always look long and amazing !! Considered a dh track before stunt ramps ruled the world 😂👍 brilliant

    • @Stopadoodledoo
      @Stopadoodledoo  2 роки тому +1

Yeah, mechanicals are a pain in the backside but given the abuse we all give our bikes, it's not really surprising. The climbs on this one aren't too long really, probably about 20-30 minutes to get up to where we started on Wansfell but worth every bead of sweat.
As for DH tracks of old, I have a theory that Enduro has become what DH was, before DH became all stuntrampy 😂

    • @Stopadoodledoo

Absolutely mate. Why limit where you can ride? Most walkers don't care anyway and those that do get upset, get just as upset if you ride on bridleways. I just make sure I give way and am polite and friendly wherever I ride to everyone and as such, it's incredibly rare that I end up in any kind of confrontation (and if I do, I can usually defuse the situation really quickly) 👍
