I'm glad that you guys are doing some trip reports in Brazil. Nice job! Hope you'll come to my city (Recife) to make a nice trip report from/to our airport (REC). Great job!
I sell flights to corporate clients from Santos Dumont SDU quite regularly, and it was a joy to actually see the airport for the first time. Thanks for a great video.
Flew with this airline post Olympic games...had an Emergency row seat...then they tell me because I don't speak Spanish or Portugese I cannot sit there, I said all commands would also be given in English...que ? Ended up in an aisle seat with NO legroom and the fellow in front reclined HIS seat and left me having to put the pillow provided between my knees and the seat. When I asked to raise the seat slightly he just laughed...for the next 2 hours I just kept pushing my knees into the seat to make him feel uncomfortable and then he stood up and told me to stop...I said get stuffed!! He then put his seat upright !! I might add the view from Rio to Santiago over the Andes made up for it!!Great review!!
That approach was incredible. And when you were approaching the rwy before take off.. Better hope the pilots don't take too wide a turn there, or else your feet would get wet ;)
The take-off path is right in front of the Sugar Loaf "Pão De Açucar" pilots need to turn left right after take off to avoid colliding with the mountain.
PT-TME - A319, delivered brand new for TAM in 2010. I'm from São Paulo and my wife is from Rio! So, we travel A LOT by those two airports! And I worked at CGH for 6 years (from 2006 to 2012) at GOL Linhas Aéreas, and my wife worked at SDU at Webjet Linhas Aéreas! So I REALLY know very well the "shuttle" SDU/CGH! LOL
Thank you for uploading this! In the mid-70's i did the sp/rio flight a number of times. Must be two of the most interesting landings on can make. Rio of course has the natural splendor. But SP has great scenery too. I loved the old prop planes that used to do that route....the Lockheed Electras.
If you don't know that is the Brazilian Air Bridge, called here "Ponte Aérea", like in Portugal. And also includes the airport of São Paulo-guarulhos, and the Rio-galeão too

However, if you're sitting on the right side of the plane you would have made better images of the Rio's city on the take off like the Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) and the Copacabana's beach because the planes used to fly around Sugar Loaf and then flying over Rio de Janeiro's coast when in route to São Paulo.

This video has never been published before. I am fully aware about when this video was filmed, that's why I stated it in the description as we always do. We film much more videos than we have time to cut and some older ones just get delyed for a while. Would you have preferred we just deleted the footage and never shared it?
@@simply_aviation - It dependents of the audience your channel wants to target and what you want to show but airport information, airline information and products do change, so from a regular air traveler point of view would know of these changes. For a casual air traveler would wouldn't see it. You did a Air NZ flight AKL/SYD video that was re-screened 3-4 months ago that had outdated information of Auckland airport international terminal. Since the original video was made, there has been alot of changes to the international terminal. That said Auckland airport's domestic and international terminals have been ongoing construction sites for the last 20 years. I am curious why aviation UA-cam channels owners get grumpy when they receive constructive feed back of their video content?
@@chrismckellar9350 You have not provided contructive feedback. You have accused me of re-uploading an older video, which is completely false. I have not used this footage before and I wouldn't betray my viewers by just uploading an older video again and claiming it was new. And you are right, information changes, which is why I always point out when a video was filmed in the description.
@@simply_aviation - Why are you grumpy. I am not accusing you of anything. Just one thing: "de" means "of" in Portuguese, and as a preposition, it's not capitalized, just as you don't capitalize "Port *Of* Spain", "Hoek *Van* Holland" or "Frankfurt *Am* Main". So, it's incorrect to write "Rio *De* Janeiro", even though the foreign-made mobile map software did it. But kudos for writing "São Paulo" correctly, including the tilde, and not committing the common mistake of writing "Sao PaOlo", as if Brazilians spoke Italian rather than Portuguese. And a tip if you come again to stay in São Paulo for some time: the large flat rooftop that appears at the bottom of the screen at 11:03 is a shopping mall called Ibirapuera Shopping Center, which is easily reached by subway (Eucaliptos station on the Purple Line). As you could see, it's right on the approach (or takeoff) path to Congonhas airport and very close to the runway end, so it's overflown very low and it's a great spotting location.
@@DanielSilva-bj8vx , the point is the connecting preposition "de" being *capitalized,* "De" instead of "de".
